I toko Adderol this past Sunday as well as last Sunday and have had a horrible experience. Raither than helping me focus I feel as if I can't think at all. i haven't taken any pills since Sunday and feel as if I'm getting worse day by day. Is this withdraw. How long does it take to get this out of your system. My eye wont stop twitching, i'm getting panicy and I can't study. Can anyone please send me some adive on thi?
Azalea - Well, have you actually been diagnosed with ADD? Because Adderall is a central nervous system stimulant medication that works to actually focus and calm people who actually have ADD.
Sounds to me like you're overstimulated, either because you do not have ADD or because you are especially sensitive to stimulant medication. Does coffee make you jittery? Because Adderall, to oversimplify, would have the effect of a mega-dose of coffee.
Also, how much of it did you take your first and second time around? It is best to build up from a 5mg dose gradually to one that suits you best. It sounds like you took too much (if you do actually have ADD, perhaps a smaller dosage would be more beneficial).
Withdrawal is doubtful given that you only took the medication twice. Medically, unless you are overly sensitive to stimulants, there is absolutely no way your body became dependent enough on the medication after two doses spaced a week apart to feel a clinical withdrawal.
Most importantly, you seem to be suffering from anxiety. I am unaware of whether this anxiety can be attributed to jitters from overstimulation or whether it was present prior to beginning medication use.
IF YOU HAVE AN UNDERLYING ANXIETY DISORDER, A STIMULANT CAN MAKE IT GO FROM BAD TO WORSE. On the other hand, if you are in a high-stress environment and have ADD, you can develop performance anxiety or low self-esteem or panic resulting from a general inability to take tasks to completion. In this case, treating the ADD can perhaps alleviate the anxiety comorbidity. It all depends on what the underlying psychological issue you are dealing with is.
I would see your psychiatrist to untangle this further, as it is all a delicate balance and your condition, if caused by side effects, seems to warrant investigation.
