My mother has been on Advair for her COPD for about three years. Over the last year she has had to have two crowns and 6 cavities filled. Prior to using Advair, she went years without any dental problems. I can't find any info on dental decay being a side effect with Advair use. Has anyone else had these problems?
Tkissette - Yes,after taking advair for 4+ months two of my teeth chipped and they became very sensitive.I've had many unmentioned symptoms and theeth problems was one of them.I no longer take advair and feel a million times better.I hope this helps.
Pamelyn - my daughters doctor told me to make sure she brushes and rinses extremely well after each dose to avoid this. So yes I have heard of it.
Blm1062 - I had been on Advair for about 1 1/2 years. I had 7 cavities and one root canal when in the past I had an occaisional cavity. When I mentioned this to both my dentist and asthma doctor, they both denied the Advair cause dmy dental problems. I was also told to brush my teeth and rinse my mouth very well after using the inhaler. - Brenda
Kristalovespink - My daughter is 11 and has been using Advair for the past year. She now has 6 cavities, alot more than in the past when she wasn't using this medication. She rinses her mouth everyday after using Advair too.
Tkissette - I'm a pretty healthy athletic person and Advair caused so many side effects not mentioned in the warnings. My doctor came to the conclusion that I'm allergic to salmeterol an ingredient in Advair.I'm doing great now with out it! I use Xopenex and a Qvar 80mcg. I hope this helps!
