First Drug Reaction Ever

I am 50+ years old and a nurse. I have never had a drug reaction before. On my 4th day of Avelox - had vertigo symptoms since the 2nd dose; being treated for pneumonia & sinus infection - I initially thought that my dizziness and nausea was due to sinus infection, but it has only gotten worse each day - this evening I tried to venture out to do some shopping and my husband thought he was going to have to get an ambulance. Severe dizziness, nausea, panic feelings, fast heart rate. I will not be completing my prescription - but will call MD to get another antibiotic. I only pray this goes away quickly, and I that all of the patients that we prescribe Avelox for at the hospital don't have simiar reactions.
