I had carpal tunnel syndrome a few years ago and underwent surgery. At the time I new zero about muscular-skeleton conditions. A year later I was diagnosed with a 13mm calcific bursitis and since conventional medicine could not do a thing for me except prescribing anti-inflammatories I turned to other options. Carpal tunnel syndrome is in part due to your skeleton being misaligned and due to an overall chemical inbalance of vitamines and minerals, but doctors will not tell you this for sure. Trying to solve my problem I went to accupuncture and to a chiropractor. The conjuction of these two treatments got rid of the calcific bursitis within one year. Meanwhile every time my back is out of alignement my hands still swell up. Muscles also seem to stick and get those so called knots (the painful points where you press and hurt like a very bad bruise). So when that happens I go to the chiropractor who as soon as he massages (it hurts a bit) and losens those points, my hands immediately get back to normal. My strong suggestion (from experience) is that you find either an osteopath or a chiropractor before any other option, because it seems very much like a back problem. Also, when possible have the trace elements checked (like magnesium, calcium, etc.) At the chiroprators waiting room I met an elderly lady, who at the first treatments had her feet so swolen that she could hardly walk, but as I came across her a few months later she was almost normal. Accupuncture also helps, but in a different way: it re-establishes an overall balance and it is not so immediate. Good luck. Alexv
