I need answers

I have been suffering with panic attacks for the last 11 years on and off. However I am now experiencing a different type of panic. If I am engaged in conversation my eyes start to go all funny on me and it kills me to make eye contact at all in case they notice my eyes perhaps dilating. Last night while i felt the usual eye thing kickin off amid conversation with family but this time I fell into a cloud of surrealism and I had no idea what I was talking about It was like a brain freeze. My head tightened up on me and I felt every sensation multiplied by 10 afterwards it was one of the most severe attacks ever!! Can anyone relate to this?? I have never taken meds previous to this only Yoga, relaxation, reiki (which is great) and laughter. Is time to move on to medication ?? Someone please give me some answers as i am scared :(

Re: I Need Answers

It's unfortunate that you're feeling this way. Maybe it could be from some kind of trauma in the past or extreme stress? I would have to agree with the previous reply. It's better if you see a Doctor so you can find out what's wrong and also to diminish your fears.

I haven't had an experience like yours, but I have had a couple of panic attacks in the past caused by overwhelming stress and being affected by difficult situations in my subconscious. I even had the problem of worrying way too much and having some pretty bad anxiety. So I went to the doctor, found out that I was stressing over nothing, and I felt much much better.

I hope this helps and you'll be in my prayers.
Hang in there, the Doc will help you out! :)

Re: I need answers

If yoiu find some answers, let me know, I have suffered from this for over 17 years. I have had the same surreal attacks. I cannot take SSRI's, I went to couselling for over 7 years. Tried every medicaion. Clonzapam works while going through an attack, however, it is addictive. I stopped drinking. (5 years now). The only thing I have tried is hypnotherapy. It workded for awhile but wore off. Cognitive therapy is a great resource. I was informed that I was hard wired for this problem and it sometimes can be genetic, I have been searching for an answer for so long. It has interferred with my ablility to have a carreer and socialize. Good luck, I hopoe you find something to help you.
