Spinal Stenosis & me

I really don’t how to put it in words,
Although I read as much as I can but at times, I really get scared when I read about others suffering from certain ailments for one reason or the other. I too started having some pain at my back for some months.
I took it light & continued my regular walks which I still do with as much commitment as I can .I consulted a close friend who happened to be an orthopedic surgeon.
He started treating me but the pain didn’t subside. He advised to have an MRI done.
I had my MRI procedure.
The findings labeled me having a kind of Spinal Stenosis.

Can any one tell me some really tried method to get the pain relied but not surgery?
Cheers SHEHZAD

Re: Spinal Stenosis & me

I had surgery for central and bilateral stenosis back in January. The surgery helped but I still have some sciatica in my right leg and my back muscles are EXTREMELY tight and sore. The thing that has helped me is ice packs. and stretching excercises. I think the ice packs help the most. Since using the ice packs my sciatic pain has gone away. Hope this helps.

Re: Spinal Stenosis & me

Well, where to start. I have spinal stenosis. I have had the fasset joints cleaned out on one side (yes, it helped but I still have the pain). I have been on Mobic (yes, it helped but I still have the pain). I have been on pineapple (yes, it helped and I had very little pain). As of late, I have eliminated tomatoes, potatoes, egg plant and peppers (green, red, yellow and hot) from my diet because I found that the swelling in my fingers greatly subsided without these vegetables in my diet. Remember, we are what we eat and you will find that it is never truer than with many of these diseases. Do I still have pain....yes, but each step seems to lessen it just a little. It gains on me whenever I get nervious....stress is deadly! Good luck and I say a prayer for you just now....I hope it helps.
