I would like to know if anyone has stopped taking Depakote 250mg suddenly.
I have been taking this prescription for three days and feel worse than I did before. I am constantly in a haze or state of panic. Nothing feels "right." I am always starving, but feel nauseated when I do try to eat. I have the shakes and experienced mild hallucinations. I have heard of some awful side-effects, but I haven't taken it long...
Sizzlebecki - I've been on 500 mg of Depakote (250 in am, pm) coupled with 75mg Lamictal and 400mg of Seroquel for a few years now. When the Depakote was introduced I had some weight gain and a SERIOUS simple carb craving (think sugar all the time!). However, I had none of the side effects you're experiencing. Do yourself a favor and get off the Depakote. You're having some really bad side effects and there are plenty of alternative choices out there. Try finding a psychiatrist who specializes in Bipolar...they're out there! Best of luck!
Boricuacristina22 - I've been on Depakote and Topamax for 8 years i'm always miserable. I can never concentrate on anything. I do not remember anything.. It's terrible, I'm always nauseous. I've gained weight. I know the feeling of nothing feeling right.. Sometimes I feel as if I'm not myself. I have hand shakes, OMG talk about hallucinations... see i'm not the type of person that gets scared easily but when I 'saw' a man running across my room it scared the living shit out of me.. I HATE DEPAKOTE
