Quitting Depakote Cold Turkey

Hi, I have a question about stopping Depakote cold turkey. I have been taking it for almost a year now for bipolar disorder. What are the side effects of doing it this way? I haven't taken my 750mg dose in over a week and I have had insomnia, lack of appetite. Has anyone out there been on Depakote and stop taking it without weaning?
Alotoflizzard - i stopped taking my 1500 mg depakote a week ago and am still yet to expereince any side effects.
