I HAVE BEEN TAKING CYTOMEL AND SYNTHROID FOR UNDERACTIVE THYROIDS PROBLEMS FOR SEVERAL YEARS. THE WEIGHT GAIN, SHORTNESS OF BREATH, HEAVY SWEATING, SORE JOINTS, HAIR LOSS AND A FEW OTHERS. EVERYTHING I'M READING LATELY ABOUT THROIDS IS THAT TAKING PRESCRIBED MEDICATIONS IS NOT ALWAYS THE PROBLEM. WHAT ARE YOU SUPPOSE TO DO. NO MATTER HOW HARD I TRY TO LOSE WEIGHT, I CAN'T. MY BODY IS SLUGGISH AND I COULD SLEEP ANYWHERE ANYTIME. PLEASE ADVISE.

I was initially put on Toprol XL 100 for an episode of atrial fibrillation, 10 months ago. They were so strong, I couldn't stand the hypotension! So, I started cutting them in half. Then, I started cutting the halves in half. My GP said 25 mg is okay but I still have problems with sleepiness and joint pain. Well, the joint problems could be osteoarthritis but I am convinced the sleepiness is due to the metoprolol. Caffeine used to wire me up, big time, now it actually causes me to nod off! Also, I am worried about depression, diabetes, and kidney damage, so--starting tonight--I will reduce the dose to 12.5 mg for a while, then zero. I am pretty sure my atrial fib was a lone episode, possibly caused by the Wellbutrin I was on until then. Wish me luck...

I would like to know if anyone has stopped taking Depakote 250mg suddenly. I have been taking this prescription for three days and feel worse than I did before. I am constantly in a haze or state of panic. Nothing feels "right." I am always starving, but feel nauseated when I do try to eat. I have the shakes and experienced mild hallucinations. I have heard of some awful side-effects, but I haven't taken it long...

Hello i was diagnosed with having hypothyroid on sept 09. i am on Leveothyroxine started at 25mcg by march 20010 i am on 125 mcg. Still cant lose any weight, but not able to eat very much either. dry skin is getting worse to.Cant sleep, hate having itchy legs and anyone touching my back.

I had read some of these posts before beginning Loestrin 24 Fe (had received a free sample), but against my own better judgment (and that of a friend who said she'd become a "psycho" while on this BC!) I decided to try it anyway. I am in less than three weeks in and I cannot get off of this pill faster. Aside from my skin worsening and weight gain that is already noticeable, I have inexplicable mood swings that are not unlike depression. I have become insecure and anxious, and I have day dreams that I can only classify as "suicidal". These few short weeks have put a serious strain on my relationship; I become sad in the middle of an otherwise happy conversation with my boyfriend. Not to mention sex now seems to always end with me crying (and not the good kind of after-sex-crying). Needless to say, when this month ends, I am beginning my new prescription for generic Mircette, a BC that I've used in the past and with which I've had no problems at all. I thought the old "don't knock 'til you've tried it" schtick might apply to Loestrin 24 Fe, but apparently, I am far from being the only one to have experience such awful side effects, or should I say legitimate symptoms of use.
