I had my Mirena inserted about 8 weeks after giving birth to my first child. That would have been early April 2008. I just had it removed about 4 months ago. I too, was experiencing a lot of the symptoms that were mentioned...horribe hair loss, moodiness, pain during intercourse, NO sex drive, exhaustion. Aside from the first month after insertion, I never had a single period...something seemed so very wrong about this! I just felt like it was so unhealthy. I am now taking Yaz and am on the second pack. My period seems to be more on schedule this month (last month was crazy and lasted about 14 days). However, I hate having to remember the pill every day. It is so frustrating that there is no birth control method that has more appealing effects. For all of you that obviously hated Mirena, have you found a replacement birth control that you are happy with? If so, what?

Sunday was dose 6 for me with Avelox, and I had such a bad panic attack that I dropped everything and went to see my husband at work, because I was so afraid. Thank God it was the last dose - I wouldn't have taken any more anyways. This stuff can kill, according to my research - and all this only to clear up an infection - it is crazy! Why won't the FDA remove this stuff? Let me guess...Big Pharma! This episode showed me to not just take everything my doctor gives me on faith - but to research new medications first. Best of luck to everyone, and discontinue Avelox right away!

Hi, I've used Singulair in the past just for allergies. I used to mostly see the doctor for seasonal allergies and it did help. Then two years ago I had a bout of bronchitis that I just couldn't shake and ended up with "residual" asthma so now use an inhaler daily and add Advair when symptoms worsen. Was also put back on the singulair when symptoms worsened and was taking it regularly to keep them from coming back. Noticed I was becoming angry all the time, little worries seemed to be getting out of proportion, thoughts of leaving my husband (though I wouldn't be able to support myself), thoughts of suicide, etc. Very irrational. I have an adult son with childhood asthma who will have asthma issues now with colds/seasonal allergies. He had called me because his 3yo had gotten ahold of a Singulair tablet. She did spit it out though. Looked up side effects and found that it is given to young children, then found this site. I stopped taking the Singulair immediately and am working to get back to my old self.

I had my thyroid taken out 4 years ago. I've been on synthoid probably 20 years. Lately I'm out of breath and don't have any energy. I'm pretty active, but I notice in the last 2 months, I've been out of breath a lot, and seems like my heart is racing just simple walking. In 4 years, I've changed synthroid levels about 5 times. I wish there was something else. I think synthroid is doing more harm to our bodies than good.

Hi Ladies~as of yesterday @ 4:20 pm, I officially became a card-carrying member of the "MRC"...Mirena Removal Club (accepting new members daily by the way!). Just wanted to post my experience in the event it might help others. Removal was literally over in 10 seconds and I felt nothing more than what you would feel during a pap. Now-I was having my period and she told me that actually makes removal even easier because the cervix is softer. I know it's hard to know if & when you will have a period on Mirena (it was with me anyway) but if you can time it right, it might be better. The other thing was that because of the period, I was able to start back on the pill last night and not have to wait (and try to guess when I was having my next period) until any bleeding from Mirena removal was over. So far I'm feeling great; my neck pain that has been SO bad for 2 years seems to have dissipated this morning! Yeah-it's out!!! I wish you all the best!! :0)
