What a relief to find this site! I am a very slender, very athletic 58 year old who eats an entirely organic, healthy diet. (Lots of fruits and veggies, whole grains, fish, etc.). Not your typical risk factors. It was just discovered that my total cholesterol is 400! (409 first reading, 398 second), with an HDL of 75. Told that I'm a walking heart attack or stroke at any instant, I've been put on high-dose aspirin and 20 mg Simvastatin for the past month. (I've been approaching this issue with weekly acupuncture, as well.) For the first time in recent memory, I got a cold, followed soon by another. My neck and shoulders have been stiff and aching as though I'd been doing unaccustomed weight-lifting. Already, I don't seem to have the energy for fast runs any longer. On the plus side, I've managed to bring my cholesterol down to 220 in a month. So, my body is responsive to drugs, but what am I sacrificing in terms of my immune system and athletic fitness..?

Today is day 7 since my 16 year old received her second shot of Gardasil. By day four we were in the ER because of fever, pain, numbness and tingling in her limbs, headaches, stomach pain, extreme fatigue, weight loss. She was diagnosed with a UTI and dehydration due to fever. I was treated like I was nuts for thinking this could be a result of her getting the Gardasil. I was told that there is no way this was a reaction to the vaccine since it was a booster and she did not react to the first one. I disagree, but can not prove it. They're blaming her UTI for the symptoms. I blame the shot for the UTI and every other symptom she's had since the very day she got the second shot. One week later, she's still fatigued, still running low grade fevers, still can't eat without stomach pain, still weak, and complaining now of sore throats! How many girls are going to have to go through this before something is done to really expose Merk for what this drug has done? My Pharmacist reported my daughters symptoms to the FDA and Merk. Merk dismissed it saying she was probably developing infection prior to getting the shot. I am outraged that I am reading so many heartbreaking testimonials of what this drug is doing to our daughters and yet, NOTHING has been done to stop it or even expose the side effects. Where is the media coverage on this? ONE LESS....Are they going for ONE LESS generation of kids????? I'm pissed off and I am not going to stop reaching out to people and letting people know what this drug is doing to our girls. My daughter went from an active, healthy and outgoing young woman to barely being able to get off the couch! I have to wonder: How many employees of Merk are getting their daughters vaccinated with this poison????

I had the IUD placed in December 08. Everything was great. I loved it. I lost weight on it and only got light periods occasionally. I experienced sharp pain during sex just once or twice and severe cramps once or twice. The past 6 months though I have not been feeling myself. I have had lack of motivation ( like I get nothing done and don't even care, tiredness ( i do have two kids and work full time however its been more then normal,) no sex drive, and just been feeling very depressed with mood swings. I just made an appointment with a therapist. I dont know if its from the IUD..since its been great for a year now can the symptoms just pop up like this? Cant I blame my blues on the winter? or the fact that Ive been fighting so much with my husband (or is the fighting because of my mood swings?) I dont know what to do. Its been great for so long and I don't experience any other side affects. But I am terrified I am going to get pregnant again if I take it out because I am not good at taking birth control. I just want to feel myself again for the sake of my family (and myself!)

I'm 18 years old and I started Loestrin 24fe about three weeks ago! Right now I'm in the middle of the third row! When I first started it my period was long! I usually have a 6day period, but this time it was atleast 10days.. After the 6th day there was just alot of spotting. Side effects weren't too bad. I had a headache here and there and cramps which I expected being my first month ever! But right now I'm cramping and have brownish spotting! Idk if it's just my stomach or actual cramps!? It's frustrating.. I just want my period to be short with little sideeffects!

I used to take this drug about 8 months ago and thought I had no problems and that my pelvic pain was caused by a gyn issue. Stopped the drug, bp went up, no ab pain. Then I started it up again and 4 days later was in the ER. Weakness, severe pelvic and back pain, horrible itching feet and ankles. Itching was so bad I had to wrap my feet in a cold wet towel to stop it. Also a general redness/rash all over. Also diarrhea to the point I was dehydrated and anemic. I felt like I was poisoned. The ER didn't make the connection, but after I got home, I did. Been off it for 3 days now and starting to feel a little better, but wtf is in this stuff? Everything is made in China and who knows what they're poisoning us with. I thought I had hepatitis or something.
