Aceon Chemical Information

perindopril erbumine - The tert-butylamine salt of perindopril, the ethyl ester of a non-sulfhydryl angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor with antihypertensive property. Upon hydrolysis, perindopril erbumine is converted to its active form perindoprilat, which inhibits ACE, thereby blocks the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II. This prevents angiotensin II-mediated vasoconstriction, decreases angiotensin II-stimulated aldosterone secretion from the adrenal cortex, and consequently promotes diuresis and natriuresis.
