I took it for 3 days with extreme nausea, some heart racing, palpitations, headache, restless leg and insomnia. Then 4th day, I was afraid I needed to go to the ER - extreme heart racing, palpitations, numbness in left arm, tingling in hands and feet and feeling like I was about to faint. I waited it out for an hour and a half and is slowed down. But now after about 18 hours, my fingers are still tingly and feeling heartbeat in my neck. My dermatologist prescribed it for an infection after a derma-filler injection. The side effects were not discussed. My ENT agreed that the med was best for my infection but did not seem concerned over the initial symptoms. I have a heart murmur and cannot take anything containing pseudoephrine - this med acts like a mega dose of it!

Had a sinus infection that was not responding to other antibiotics. Took a levaquin 750 at 5:30 this AM got up for work at 6:30 and was extremely dizzy, had a major headache and also thought that I was going to vomit. Incredible stomach pain, this lasted until 3:30 today. I was in bed most of the day. My doctor switched to a different antibiotic again. It is a shame that there are all of these awful side effects as the drug works so well ridding the body of infections. I won't take this drug again.

September 19th 2008 Initial symptoms heart racing, tremors, blurred vision doctors should say you could not drive when taking Leva-pak 750. It is dangerous! I almost passed out and I thought I was having a heart attack while driving. September 20-22 2008 then felt much better but resting at home!!!

Levaquin Leva-Pak Chemical Information

levofloxacin - A broad-spectrum, third-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic and optically active L-isomer of ofloxacin with antibacterial activity. Levofloxacin diffuses through the bacterial cell wall and acts by inhibiting DNA gyrase (bacterial topoisomerase II), an enzyme required for DNA replication, RNA transcription, and repair of bacterial DNA. Inhibition of DNA gyrase activity leads to blockage of bacterial cell growth.
