Lupron

Lupron is a man-made form of a hormone that regulates many processes in the body. Leuprolide overstimulates the body's own production of certain hormones, which causes that production to shut down temporarily. It reduces the amount of testosterone in men or estrogen in women.

Lupron is used in men to treat the symptoms of prostate cancer. Lupron treats only the symptoms of prostate cancer and does not treat the cancer itself. Use any other medications your doctor has prescribed to best treat your condition.

Lupron is used in women to treat symptoms of endometriosis (overgrowth of uterine lining outside of the uterus) or uterine fibroids

I am now 21 years old, but i started having problems when i was just fifteen. My dad took me to the doctors and they put me in the hospital then they went in for surgery and found out that i had Endo and a cysts on my right ovary. My parents thought the world of this doc because he saved the life of my baby sis when she was born so that is who we went with. well i had two surreys my sophomore year three my jr. and two my senior. But you see after the first three they sent me to a specialist who did th next two then sent me back. when my senior year came around i had so much scare tissue that it was cutting off all the circulation to my bowls so that started more surgrey so I finally convinced my parents to let me see another doc so when i did he said i never should have had that many surgrys but in order for him to see what he was dealing with he needed to go himself to see what he was dealing with so i let him. then he is the one that suggested to put me on to the lupron, this was not the lupron birth control it was the shot that makes you go through metopose, well i got one shot every six months. See i was told i would never have kids and that i needed to have a a historectome back when this first started. and as soon as the shot wore off i got pregnant now i was high risk but it all worked out and the second doc i seen had told me that have a baby is some times the best cure for female probs of any kind. and the shot was not near as bad as the pain and constint er trips or surgrys i would recamind it to any one i went the full year with no pain then no pain during my pregnancy. it was not until two years after i had my son that i started having probs agin so now am getting ready to go back on the shot because we are going to try for another child after words

I got my first Lupron injection about 3 or 4 weeks ago. I feel terrible!!! I had gotten the shot to stop the growth of cysts on my ovaries, I have had constant pelvic pain for over a year now. Since the shot, my pelvic pain has gotten MUCH worse! I also have back and leg pain. I've also been getting headaches almost daily. I'm just down right evil most of the time. I find myself crying about anything and everything. My muscles ache all over my body and I have joint pain. My brain also seems "foggy". This is a nightmare! What really sucks is that I got the shot that lasts 3 months!!! I feel doomed. I feel sorry for my kids and my boyfriend for having to deal with me. I will never get another Lupron injection!!!!

Oh my god..today is my third day taking lupron 10 unit for egg donation. Last night I started to notice that I am itching and tired. So today after my shot , an hour or so my face starting to start itching, small acne come out on my forehead and side. Not only that, my ears, eyes,neck , back ,stomach and private area part also itching including my head. I know this is part of the side effect. I have 2 1/2 weeks to go. What the hell? I'm so irritable and mood swing. Gained weight too. I hope this would go away. I just don't want to interfear with my job. How horrible would I look working as a bartender and scratching my ass and all over behind the bar? Lol
