i started taking seroquel about 2 years ago, and with being steadily increased in the dosage i have gaine 100 pounds, and i cannot lose anything. I have tried every diet out there, besides surgery. I am afraid to go off them because i have insomnia and deppression, and anxiety soo bad that i can never sleep. and now in reading other persons' effects i am starting to wonder if all my other problems are an affect of this medicine. I take 800 mg. a night just so i can sleep 7-8 hours. How crazy is that??? i am so afraid...

Hi. I am 13 years old and have been constantly on and off prednisone. I was diagnosed with a kidney disease when I was about 7 years old, and ever since, i have been having much trouble. Prednisone reduces the swelling in my kidneys, but provides me with the worst side-effects. Such as, moon face, acne, moodswings, not being able to sleep, increased apetit, and much much more. I have gained over 20 pounds, and you know how hard that is when at this age its the goal to be small. I used to be very small, and now i feel as if i will never be the same. I have been through this before, and if you are wondering, you always end up losing the weight, and go down even lower than your starting weight. I may be young, but trust me, I've had a lot of painful expeirences with this drug. Lets only hope my side effects go away this time.

I have also gained weight since I stopped using Yasmin. But it is all on my stomach and breasts. I have been off Yasmin for exactly 3 weeks today and last weekend I had to go and bye another bra because my existing ones hurt so much. I had gone up more than a cup size. I was so amazed because I have been the same size bra since I was 13 years old. I don't expect to get a period either because I have been taking my basal temp and it has been totally wacky!
On the bright side, my sex drive has really improved and so has the dryness I was experiencing although it is not 100%.
The IBS-like symptoms I was experiencing have almost completely disappeared. What a relief - I have never had so much gas in my life ! :-)

MY SON WAS GIVEN ADVAIR BECAUSE THEY FOUND THAT HE HAD PNEUMONIA A LOWER FORM BUT IT WAS STILL PNEUMONIA. HE HAS ONLY BEEN TAKING IT FOR 2 DAYS BUT I WAS A LITTLE LEARY ABOUT GIVING IT TO HIM SINCE HE WAS ALREADY TAKING THE ALBUTEROL FOR HIS ASTHMA. HE SEEMED TO BE A LITTLE BETTER YESTERDAY BEFORE HE STARTED TAKING IT. HE COMPLAINS THAT HE STILL ISNT FEELING GOOD AND HE IS ALWAYS TIRED AND HIS CHEST HURTS. HE IS ONLY 13 YEARS OLD. I REALLY HATE GIVING HIM ALL THESE MEDICATIONS THEY GAVE HIM OMNICEF & SOME ANTI INFLAMATORY & ADVAIR AND COUGH SYRUP WITH CODINE. I DONT THINK THAT I WANT HIM TAKING THE ADVAIR WITH ALL THOSE SIDE EFFECTS. HE TOLD ME THAT IT REALLY DOESNT FEEL LIKE ITS WORKING ANYWAY. WHY TAKE THE CHANCE? MAKES YOU WONDER WHAT KIND OF SIDE EFFECTS YOU WILL HAVE LATER ON FOR TAKING THE MEDICATION.

My daughter is 13 years old. In October 2003 she had her right middle lobe of her lung removed. She has chronic asthma and other respiratory problems. She has also has 2 sinus surgeries and 5 sets of ear tubes. After her lobectomy she was on several different antibiotics and we had a terrible time clearing her lungs. Finally in December her Drs. put her on Levaquin. She took her levaquin at night due to some of the side effects listed. I didn't want her in school if there had been a problem. It was like a miracle drug for her. For the first time in months I did not hear her say she was not feeling well, no low grade temps and most important of all...she stopped coughing up phlegm. The Drs now have her on another antibiotic...its working well but some of her problems have slowly returned. She is much wheezier, she has started to cough again and she says she doesn't feel as well now as she did on Levaquin. As a matter of fact she has a Dr. appointment in a week and I am going to ask about using Levaquin again.

I'm 13 years old, and I've been taking Singulair for about three weeks now. I've been having a very unpleasant taste, very bad headaches, lack of memory, and slight twitching sense I've started Singulair. I don't know if i should continue to take Singulair.
