My son is 14 years old and was given two rounds of this drug for an infection (two weeks and one week respectively). Last round in the middle of September. The pain started with the first round and got worse the second time. Real bad. We had him tested for a multitude of diseases and x-rayed the knees - all came back normal. We finally stumbled onto the fact that the joint pain coincided with the drug - WE WERE NEVER WARNED!

Well, he's a heck of an athlete/student/good kid...and has been wrestling since he's 5 years old, has competed nationally and this sport is "his thing." Well, now he's finally in high school and can barely make it through practice - can't go live at all. The pain and stiffness ain't going away even though he's been off it since September!

What in the world can we do to treat this effectively (or t all)? Doctor prescribed anti-inflammatory meds and they did nothing. Physical therapy is doing nothing. Ultrasound treatment on knees is doing nothing.

How long will it last?

Help please anybody with any information - we're disparate.

Prayers are welcome too.

Thanks.

I was a 17 year smoker. I took Chatix and have been quit now since April! You are supposed to stay on the pill for like 6 months, but it only took 2 weeks for me. My only problems with it were nausea and weird dreams. For the nausea I just split my doses up, that seemed to help and the dreams I just had to deal with. All in all, I had tried to stop smoking many times before, this is the longest I have been without a smoke since I was 14 years old!

I have been taking prednisone for about a month now due to an outbreak of ulcerative colitis. I started off on 50 mg per day and have been weaning off week by week going to 40, 30 and now am at 20mg. The side effects I've experienced so far are a weight gain of 10 pounds, increased appetite and thirst, excess sweating, mood swings, and worst of all fatness added to my face and hips. I would not recommend being relient on this drug but most likely like me, you have no choice. I am only 14 years old, but hopefully this will help someone.

I am 14 years old and have been on singulair for 4 months at first i though it was helping but it was actully making it harder for me to do sports i have in the past 4 months had the flu, sinus infection, numbness in my arms and legs, throat and respitory infection and trouble sleeping at night. it doesn't help my swimming. I have competitions every 3 weeks and it is brining my mood down and most of the competitions I end up being sick. It is getting so bad that I cant go for more than 2 mineuts without coughing violently and I am constantly throwing up because it is so bad.

My daughter is 14 years old and 2 years ago her allergist put her on Advair due to her asthma. She lasted on Advair for approx 4 months. Within that 4 months she could no longer read, could not concentrate, her grades went from honor roll to straight F's, her vision got worse and she suffered from depression. Two years later she still suffers from depression, memory lose, although she is back on honor roll she still has problems concentrating, and comprehending what she reads. She gets angry very easily, she used to be a very happy person.. I went against her Allergist recommindations to take her off of Adviar and although she refuses to look at the possibly of these reactions I am convinced that this MAJOR changes in my daughter where indeed caused by this medication.
