Our son was on Zyrtec for 3 years, we just took him off and went a homeopathic route for his allergies. While on zyrtec, he was so emotional, had trouble in school, cried a ton and was overall a mess! A few days after we changed his meds, he was a DIFFERENT person for the better!

My daughter has been on Singulair 2 times now. The first time my husband & I thought it was wonderful - she was a little over a year and just stayed sick throughout the winter, once on Singulair she didn't get sick again. So they next year around the same time, the Dr. gave us another prescription to take throughout the winter, to prevent getting sick. My now 2 year old has been on Singulair for a month and this past week she has been evil! She WILL NOT listen, she is extra hyper, doesn't eat as well as she used to and has pretty much done away with taking naps. She used to be wonderful at school, but now the teachers are even complaining she wont listen, or sit still, she takes whatever she wants no matter what friend is playing with it. She is not phased with spankings or time out. My 2 year old was sent to the Day Care office because she wouldn't listen or be still. I was so embarrassed. It has gotten to the point at home that spanking hurts our hands worse than it does her. I am so frustrated, however after reading this, I think we are going to take her off the medicine and see if her behavior and appetite return to normal. I am pregnant with our second child and don't have the energy to keep up with her. She has always been a hyper child, but her behavior she would listen. She has just gotten out of control. I feel like those people that should be on the TV show where someone comes into your house and teaches you how to discipline your child.

I just went onto: http://www.drugs.com/yasmin.html just to see what they had to say about Yaz, (I am no-longer on the terrible thing, see my previous post) but I saw something really scarey on the site, namely: "This medication can cause birth defects in an unborn baby", now I'm sure they are referring to falling pregnant whilst taking the medication, but my concern is that it appears to take a number of month for the drug to leave your system competely once you have stopped taking it, so when is it safe to get pregnant after coming off it??? this is a very very scarey!!!! des anyone have an answer???

my 2 1/2 year old was put on Singulair due to eczema and allergies. It started to clear up his skin, but he started to loose his appetite, and started going days with out bowel movements. Constipation was inevitable. I am stopping this medicine after reading about all of the side affects.

My 6 1/2 year old son is in la-la land with this medication. After only one dose his pupils are dialated, he appears to feel uneasy and he seems to not be able to function. He has completely lost his appetite and only wants to remain still. It is as if he is hallucinating but he does not know how to describe the feeling. I will not give him a drop more. Very, very bad for children!

I have two children who were both prescribed Omnicef for bronchitis/sinus infections. My four year old began complaining within hours of severe stomache cramping and vomited followed the next morning by HUGE(golf ball and larger) hives all over her body(worse on her hands and feet) We stopped it immediately and swithched antibiotics. My 2 year old had already been on for a few days and had become very cranky, pacing back and forth, crying, mean, hitting, and repeating himself over and over. He was unable to sleep at night and developed what the doctor called excema mostly on his face and scalp. He completed the med yesteday and today broke out in full body hives (not as big as my daughters but very itchy and more severe around his eyes, hands and bottom. I was amazed that these side effect are supposedly not common but my two children who have both been on several different antibiotics for ear infections have never had any reaction. No more Omnicef at my house!!!!!

Our just-turned-4-year-old has been on Singulair for about 10 months. At first I was so glad something was working to help him with his allergies and he didn't sound like he was drowning anymore. But, about 6 months ago, he turned into a little monster and we couldn't figure out what was going on. It was impossible to get him to sleep through the night and he was being extremely aggressive to his 21/2 year old sister, with hitting and even choking. We were horrified and have tried EVERYTHING to fix this situation. Then it hit us about a week ago to try to take him off the Singulair and see what happens. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! He is once again the calm, mild mannered little boy he once was. After reading everyone's experience, we see we are not alone.
