wow where do I begin. I took the first dose and my kidneys hurt like I had been on a drinking binge for weeks. I cried for three days straight and I started having pain in my bones this was only a warning for what was to come. I suddenly had a weird heartbeat I mean it was a really long weird heartbeat so I call my doctor she tells me to stop taking it and if anything worse happens between the time I had called about 3pm and the next day at 9 am then i need to go to the E.R so i just relax and hope nothing happens but the next day when I am supposed to take the drug (its a 24 hour pill) my brain squeezed in on itself and my dad informed me I was going through withdrawals but I was like how I only took it a few days he said those were DT's. The coming days I had to re learn how to walk and talk and just do simple tasks. Well its been over a year now and I now need to go get my heart checked because I am still having trouble with weird palpitations and beats its very strange. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD ANYONE TAKE THIS MEDICATION!

Glad to find your site. I have been on Lisiopril for 2 years (ever since my Insurance stopped paying for my Aceon and I had to have a substitute drug for blood pressure control). I have had increasing cough and horseness for the past 12 months to the point that I now have 24 hour symptoms! I also have been having leg cramps at night the past few months.
I will stop Lisinopril TODAY. Plan to monitor my blood pressure and see what happens. Does anyone see any problem with doing this?????

I am a 24 hour ago newbie. Last night, I got up in the middle of the night to get a drink of water and I almost fainted. Everything went white and I had to sit down before I really fell down. This morning I feel axctious, nervous and winded. I don't feel like myself at all. I have been reading the nuva ring side effects all morning. If these are normal side effects - I am not sure it's worth it. Anyone else feel like this? Will this go away?

I took Neo 12 hour twice in the prescribed 24 hour period. I noticed the next morning that my heart rate was elevated upon rising, and while taking a shower, noticed that I was having lots of palpitations or "skipped beats" followed by a refreshing feeling...you know, the feeling you get after you hold your breath for a minute and then let it out and take a deep breath. I didn't think the episode was due to the Neo 12 hour, but changed to the Neo 4 hour because I wanted the stuffy head/nose to clear up sooner than 12 hours. I wanted to know if the Neo could interact with Sudafed or not, and if so, could it cause this problem to be worse than just one of these meds by itself?

I have recently experienced a rash on my chest and weight gain. My blood pressure has increased and my blood sugar has increased. My head feels sore on the upper right side. I have been getting muscle cramps in my ankles. All of this in addition to the 24 hour sweating and lower back pain and painful urinary tract. I have started experiencing sharp pain in my right testicle. I started walking my dog and had to stop after a short distance because the top of my head felt extremely hot and my vision blurred.
I am in the process of tapering off from this drug. I am taking 4 mg per day, down from an initial dose of 10mg per day.
A very tired old man. This has been my second post.

I've been on prednisone 50 mg. qd for 3 consecutivel days; or for a week at a time for my very severe asthma. I have massive 24 hour sweating, and have amassed a very large weight gain. I eat mostly fruits and vegetables. What can be done to lose weight?

Silke???
Are you there? I have a question for you. Did you ever have a sputum test done for a hormone profile? If so, which ones? I had one done and my testosterone is low and my other androgen levels were borderline low. Im beginning to think the spiro in the yasmin depresses the androgens, at least in my case. If you log onto www.salivatest.com click on 24 hour hormone hotline in the second box down on the left side of the screen and then click on 630 androgens and testosterone listen to what the woman says testosterone is responsible for maintaining in your body. It explains a lot of what I am feeling because my testosterone is low. BY THE WAY I had hormone labs drawn 2 times at different dr offices, one did not even test testosterone, the other did but it came back "normal" I am looking into talking to a doctor who deals with natural hormone replacement. I am just wondering if you ever had a saliva hormone test done? Looking forward to your response. Bitter RN.

This is my first month on Yasmin - I just started taking my inactive pills so expecting my period any day now. Anyway, last week I spent one day vomiting and couldnt even hold my head up (figured it was a 24-hour stomach bug), but now I have unexplainable hives/rash on my arms, back and stomach. I too have low sex-drive and hot flashes now and often feel like there are bricks being piled on top of my chest. Calling my gyno tomorrow to see what she says about it.

After 3 months taking lipitor, woke up during the night with full body muscle spasms. Emergency crew took me to emergency wherby morphine was injected over a three hour period to loosen the tightened muscles. Use of lipitor ended that evening.

For the next 26months, 8-12 major spasms occurred within a 24 hour period. Methocarbanol was and still is being used as a combative tool against spasms.

Currently determining what should be taken to provided nutrients to the muscles to help them to repair the damage done by the spasms that occurred.

Presently, major spasms have diminished to 4-6 per month, tight muscles persist, and its very easy to have muscle cramps when doing miscellaneouls medium to heavy duty chores. Medium would be reaching out to help pull yourself up and heavy would be snow shoveling with medium size shovel.

In my case, Zetia (non-statin) has brought my chloresterol levels down to an acceptable level & no side effects have occurred.

Doc gave me this drug for a nasty sinus infection. I was supposed to take 2 a day for l4 days. Today is day 7 and I have stopped taking it.

I am battling red, itchy eyes, flaming, itchy areas between my toes and it is starting between my fingers. My lips are numb and I just noticed my baby toes are swollen (go figure).

I've taken an antihistamine and quite frankly, I'm nervous. On top of all that mess, when I woke up with red eyes, I assumed it was pink eye b/c I teach preschool. It was Sat., so the doc called me in antibiotic eye drops, polymixin. The nurse at the BC/BS 24 hour help line said it contains some of the same ingredients as the sulfameth. Never again!

Until I read this board, I thought I was totally alone. Six months into using Yasmin, I find myself with bouts of severe anxiety, shakes, etc... I went to my family doctor and gynecologist 3 days ago (they are located in the same building, so I figured I would make 1 trip). The gyn told me to finish this cycle then consider MIRENA, an IUS (not IUD). My family doctor referred me to a psychiatrist and gave me a prescription for an anti-anxiety medication! When I told her that I was using Yasmin, she concurred that I should consider not using Yasmin. She could not offer an opinion on Mirena as she is not a gyn. She is sending me to a cardiologist for a 24 hour monitor of my BP. I think I will wait to see a psychiatrist until a month or 2 after stopping Yasmin. If the problems still exist, I will go.
In addition to anxiety, I have been experiencing chest pain, shakes, raging emotions, severe weight gain, shortness of breath, etc....
thank you for listening. I'll check again soon.

My 3 year old daughter was put on Singulair (4mg) for mild Asthma. She had a very hacky dry constant cough. When allergy season came into play, we also added Claritin to her daily routine. We use the liquid Claritin for Children (24 hour) kind. No side effects from any of the two medicines whatsoever. Most of the posts here are full of side effects and I just wanted to say that we have experienced nothing and my daughter is doing well. She is about to turn 4 and is still on Singulair for children. (Chewable type).

My father is 81 years old and was diagnosed with colon cancer, he is also a diabetic and has alzheimers. My father was in hospital when we found out that he had cancer and that they could not operate because of his heart condition. Now he is in a nursing home where he has 24 hour a day care. The doctor has told the family last friday that he had 3-4 days left..he is still going but since they have given him morphine he does not eat or drink, he can't get out of bed and his mouth is all dry, his tongue was blackish in colour and he looks really bad, he is skin and bones now and it breaks my heart to see him like this. I was wondering if the things I am noticing about my dad is due to the morphine or what??

If first you don't succeed, try again. I couldn't tolerate the wellbutrin XL (extended release version) but did very well on the regular wellbutrin at a low dose (75 mg once a day).

While taking a trial of wellbutrin XL, I felt unusually tired, but I had insomnia to the point I had to go to wallmart to purchase generic brand sleeping pills, which I'd never taken before. This did not go away even after several days. I felt like I did when I first popped a psuedoephedrine 24 hour release pill for allergies when I didn't fall asleep until a half hour before I was due to get up. Ever since then, I laugh about how fucked up psuedoephedrine 24 hour release is and how it make me feel as high as a kite. I didn't feel high on wellbutrin, but I tossed and turned uncomfortably even though I was more tired than usual and only wanted to catch some shut eye.

Furthermore, on wellbutrin XL, I felt anxious for no reason, a weird sort of amphetamine addict or drugged up shake that I couldn't tolerate. I never do well on extended release versions of medications, however, because I experience more side effects for whatever reason. I'm glad I decided to try a lower dose that isn't an extended or sustained release because it worked well.

I like wellbutrin in general. Other positive effects are feeling slightly less depressed (not overwhelmingly so though), and feeling more intelligent and consequently, more self-confident. I also have more energy to do daily tasks, and am much more organized. I also notice I'm more logical minded and less impulsive. I think my thoughts are clearer and consequently, I feel more stable, which is all good.

Negative side effects are, especially when I first started taking it, unusually greater hyperactivity. First, it effected me in such a way that I felt even manic and like an ADHD little kid who runs around before bedtime and acts silly and hyperactive. This diminished after taking a lower dose and also after several days after it had been in my system. Now, I'm not troubled by hyperactivity.

Also, when I added this to my prescribed zoloft, I feel like in a fog from hell. Especially this was true after I ran out of ritalin and had to rough it for two weeks on just wellbutrin and zoloft. For example, at the convenience store, I look like I'm a vicodin addict as simple choices becomes overwhelming and I'm inundated by a baffling array or options, such as whether to buy sunchips or pretzels and lollying and looking lost as I wander the isles to the point the salesclerk probably thought I was going to steal something. Especially after I dropped my purse on the ground and started rummaging around to see how much money I had, also increasing my options because I could buy alcohol too, only I couldn't decide which kind, the raspberry zodka or plain, or should I just buy a bottle or wine since all they had were 6 packs or smirnoff ice? Luckily, the salesclerk looked like she was stoned so she probably didn't notice, although when I said "and I'm the red car on that pump", I couldn't remember which number it was, she said, "so that's YOUR red car" as if there was a huge discussion amongst the two on who owned the red car parked at the pump for so long.

I decided not to take zoloft with wellbutrin and that wellbutrin is no substitute for ritalin. I like wellbutrin better than zoloft, however, because althought it doesn't help my OCD or anxiety, and I think makes them worse, it still makes me feel more capable simply because I do better at work and in life - organizing things and the like.

Lastly, since I'm more anxious on the wellbutrin/ritalin combination, I'm currently looking for a medication to go with the two to treat my anxiety and OCD without making me feel like I'm in a fog. However, I feel very pleased with wellbutrin because it helps my depression and ADD and the side effects are mild, and even less noticeable at a lower dose for me.

I took 3 Sudafed in a 24 hour period (no other medications) and the following day was unable to urinate. Later minimally, then returned to normal. A week later I took 3 doses of cough medicine CF with pseudoehpedrine and had the same side effect. I couldn't urinate any faster than a leaky faucet. I can find no other occurances of this or similar side effects.
