I just finished sending a message but omitted info that might be of interest to others. I am a 76 year old white male diagnosed with COPD, a former heavy smoker, on O2, 24 hours a day. With O2, Spirrvia, and exercise I am back to a fairly normal life and have just started using liquid O2 with a Helios disoenser. I love it. It is no more difficult than wearing a 45 pistol on a web belt and lasts much longer than gaseous O2.

I have never posted anything to a website before. After the terrifying effects of Seroquel - I feel the need to inform others.
In December of 2004 I was under alot of stress from work. I went two weeks without sleep. I went to the doctor and he perscribed 300 milagrams of Seroquel. It did help me sleep. Only I could sleep 24 hours a day! It took away my personality. My personality turned aggressive. I couldn't stop eating and I gained 35 pounds in 10 months. I craved sweets and fast food like a madman. I started to hear voices - I never heard them before Seroquel. Then I started getting suicidal. I decided to wean myself off Seroquel in February of 2006. It was like death. The insomnia came back as a rebound effect. When I got completely off the Seroquel in May of 2006 I started breaking out in a weird itching all over my body periodically. For one week all my bowel stools were pitch black. Before Seroquel I used to be an avid exerciser. Now I can't exercise for more than 10 minutes with out being in bed with chronic body aches for a week. My immune system is very fragile too. I have not been able to lose the weight yet. And I get very tired mentally from little things.
I have since found out that melatonin works great for insomnia. You just have to take it for 2 weeks before it starts to work.

This is my second post to this site. About a month ago, I stopped taking the drug because I was coughing 24 hours a day and it was disturbing my sleep. The cough has taken most of the past month to subside.

Having said that, I do find it hard to believe that lisinopril can be held responsible for all the side effects listed here.

I think the best way to battle the side effects of drugs in general is to live your life better. I have HBP but have managed to keep my cholesterol low (and therefore stay off those drugs) by diet alone. Think about what these drugs have to do to achieve their objectives. By taking these drugs you are messing with your physiology and there will always be a price to pay. That's why lisinopril is still on the market. The drug companies can always say, "well you were warned."

Been on four four days (20mg) - Lightheadedness 24 hours a day, difficulty urinating and insomnia. I have had a course of these before and suffered no ill effects at all. Am not sure how to proceed.

I have just been switched from Lisinopril 10mg to 20mg. On 10mg my bp dropped from 160/90 to 150/70. The reason I was given for the increase to 20mg was that it's the recommended dose. I now have a constant tingling in my left hand, especially in the morning. It's like having "pins and needles" 24 hours a day. Has anyone noticed this?
On the cough, does anyone notice it soon after eating, which is the case for me, or is the cough there throughout the day?
