What is wrong with all these doctors telling all of us that it CAN'T be the Mirena!!! We all have similar side effects. I am waiting for there to be one of those commercials on TV.... 'if you have used Mirena in the past you may be entitled to money due to damages'
I just want to feel better again. I wake every day hoping for the dizzy/brain fog to be gone and my mood to be back to normal.
Also, after viewing the video found on this page about Mirena I did have a great question... it states only a certain amount of hormone is released every 24hrs, how can they be so sure no more than that amount of hormone is released? With the pill you only take 1 pill which obviously gives you only that amount of hormone. This IUD is simply in you releasing hormones with no control. Just so frustrated and want to feel better again. Tomorrow will be 1 week since I had it removed.

Update....I had my Mirena taken out a week ago and I can't believe the difference! (By the way it didn't hurt at all). I haven't broken out in any spots since (Yipee) and I feel so much better, nowhere near as tired, stressed or moody as I was with the Mirena fitted. My Husband can't understand how I've changed & so quickly (within 24hrs) and let me tell you I was awful. Instead of snapping & shouting at my daughter, I actually talk rationally to her (bless her, she's only 5). Having this thing removed was the best thing I have done recently, I feel so happy & back to my old self.

I was diagnosed with PCOS and my doctor suggested getting on birth control to adjust my hormone levels. She suggested NuvaRing for it's ease of use. The first two months, everything went great... I noticed my daily discharge seemed to increase, but no real big deal. The third month was horrible.. I got my period and had THE worse cramps! I've always had a problem with pain during the first 24hrs, but this was unreal! Pamprin usually does the trick for me, and I only feel a dull pain, but not even Pamprin would rid me of this horrible pain. I few hours, the worst of the pain had past. I went to change my tampon, and I had discharged a section of my lining that was the width/height of my fist! No WONDER I was in pain!! I called my OBGYN and she said this is a side effect of NR, and is natural, no worries. This pain and large tissue discharge continued for 3 more months. I told the OBGYN I needed a different form of BC... she refused. Needless to say, I switched OBGYN's and I'm on YAZ now... since I've switched BC, I've had a light, and painless period. Obviously NR did not agree with my body. I like it for it's ease of use (I don't remember to have to swallow a pill @ the same time everyday), but it's not worth it for the pain I had to go through. I would NEVER recommend NuvaRing to anyone looking to getting on BC.

I had posted wed. morning that I was getting it taken out, well my doctors office said they had to check with my ins. comp. just to see if they would even cover it which to me meant big money for a simple procedure. After waiting 3 hours for a return phone call I got irritated and my husband helped me to remove it. I was hoping that I would get immed relief from the horrible pains I was having in my upper abdomen and back but it took exactly 12hrs from time of removal to feel better. Today I still felt sick like I could throw up but after I got some water in me I feel much better. I was unable to eat or drink much in the last 24hrs. It didn't hurt at all to get it out and I am glad I did. I feel better just knowing it is gone! Good luck to everyone I hope the people who are suffering get relief soon.

I have been on Zyrtec for three years (Every day) haven't noticed mood swings in myself? My mother also takes them every other day and is not particularly moody. Although she has trouble sleeping which she attributes to the menopause But if i don't take one within 24hrs I get very itchy and hive up..now that I'm breastfeeding I've just noticed my daughter is very irritable..and am beginning to think it's related to the zyrtec. I'm changing to claratyne in the morning to see if there's a change..very,very interesting and scary reading all the side-effects!!

I am a 37 year old female that went to the ER 3 days ago for chest tightness & extremely high blood sugar. I have had high blood pressure in the past years but as of a year ago when I was diagnosed as being diabetic my blood pressure has been normal about 117/75 so I go to the ER and they give me 2 EKG's and a heart monitor for 24hrs and put me through a stress test, they also give me this little pill and say it will help me, well not feeling well and wanting to feel good again I take the pill no questions asked. I have never felt so tired in my life. I thought well chest pains will do that to you so I dismissed it. I know they were making sure I do not have a heart attack but, my blood pressure seems to be going lower and lower and I am more tired by the minute, they released me from the hospital and gave me a million RX's including toprol and lisinopril both of whch lower blod pressure ??? do they want me to pass out? so yesterday I took the toprol only and felt like I was sinking , my thinking seemed foggy and my legs felt rubbery. I am sooooo glad I found this site because I will not take this drug ever again I already suffer weight issues being diabetic I don't need anything else. I would prefer to be interested in sex and be able too function this drug seems like it is more negative than it is worth. I think I will stick with the lisinopril, and why would they give me two blood pressure meds when my blood pressure is already normal??? If anyone has a comment please let me know I am very scared about this whole thing

Given Zanaflex after 6 back surgeries. Dosage take 2 tabs (4mg) 4 times a day. Total dosage 24hrs (8mg x 4 = 32mg.) This seems high to me. What happens is my stomach does not digest food, mobility slows way down; can not urinate, pass gas. I am a 52 female, with spinal problems. I also have HTN, and when I miss a dose to drive, my face is flushed bright red, B/P soars in the 200's. I can not move my bowels up to 10 days. I am now off this medicine and yes, I hurt, but, once in awhile I will take 1/2 tab. Anyone else experience such bowel, urination problems? And, yes, the HTN? I am now on the generic. This is the medicine from hell. I feel better with a lowered dose. Please help me with your comments. by kwncln

Hello all!! I have been on NR for around 9 mos. I think that this is a great method of BC for me, a person who forgets to take pills and gets rediculous nausea from pills. However, I'm wondering if anyone experiences NIGHT SWEATS? I sweat so much at night, that everything is soaked and I often feel like something is crawling on me and its just perspiration. This is gross! I've taken many 2am showers because I can't stand it. As I read some of your entries, I noticed that fatigue is mentioned. I thought I needed vitamins, more blood, or just 24hrs of sleep. I wanna continue to use this method of BC, but can't stand these two problems.

I will never use this product again. My doctor put me on Nuvaring because of the low level of hormones it gives off. I, one of the happiest people I know, became depressed. I bought a new car, house, and got a promotion all in one week, but was not happy about any of them. That's not normal. I completely lost my sex drive and am miserable. I have never experienced these feelings before. It is scary.

I want to take the ring out; it's been in one week. I am scared that taking it out will really screw up my system more than it already is. Has anyone taken it out before she was supposed to?

I have gone from 125 to 175 in weight, stomach is like I'm having twins. Also the double chin. Takes me forever to get things done, have to write a list. Times I'm so short temper, have been know to tell the family members off. Love my grandbabies but at times I just can't stand the noise. I have been on the med for over 1 year now, and starting to go down slowly on mgs. I love my doctor and he is so concerned about how it has affected my body. Also on oxygen 24hrs. No good at trying to lose weight it just comes right back. Yes there are times I would love to run away or just quit altogether. Linda

body can't tolerate BIAXIN. due to time release of pill, bitterness remains in mouth 24hrs. bitterness keeps me awake at night. nightmares, leg cramps. tongue slightly swollen. taste is overwhelmed by the bitterness i can't get rid of. constant nausea. am drinking water literally every minute to keep sickening taste in mouth from making sick to stomach. have shakes. side effects are too distracting to take further after 2 days. this should be taken off the market.

I received Levoquin for a bad sinus /respitory infection. I've taken full doses in the past, but no more. I took one 500mg Levoquin pill and within 1 hour I had a fever, uncontrolled chills, aching legs/feet and swollen hands. After finally falling asleep I woke up feeling better. I at that time didn't associate the two (have taken without side effects in the past). I just thought that I probably came down with some strange 24hr bug. I took my morning dose and wouldn't you know it the whole cycle started again. I haven't had a dose in 24hrs and just started taking Benedryl for some relief. My hands and feet are still swollen, red and painful. It hurts to walk b/c the soles of my feet are so sore and now I have signs of thrush. It is a nightmare. I will never, ever take this medication again!!!!
