38 years old symptoms and conditions

I am a 38 yo female. Took bactrim for UTI. Two and half days into treatment, I could not sleep. Strange dreams, agitation. Next day, absolute feeling of panic, anxiety, restlessness, loss of appetite, weakness in hands, confusion, sweating, heavy heartbeat. Went to ER, they were unfamiliar with this reaction. Seems to take quite awhile to get the medication out of your system. I will never take bactrim again.

I am 38 years old and was prescribed LoestrinFe for perimenopausal symptoms that I have been experiencing. After 10 days of taking this BCP I have decided to endure the hot flashes and discontinue my use of LoestrinFE. I have been boxing 2 times a week and working out with Tae Kwon Do 3 times a week for almost 3 years. This kept me in the best shape of my life before LoestrinFE came along!! I am usually a light eater but my appetite has increased considerably and with the insomnia I am snacking late at nite which is leading to weight gain!! Clothing I wore on July 31 feels tighter today as if I am constantly bloated. My husband remarked that my breasts looked alot fuller and he was pleased with that, however, I feel like a walking COW!!! I am done with this BCP.

I am 38 years old and had my mirena put in in January 2007. Since than I have gained 40lbs. I have been extremely frustrated because I have been eating well and run all day bc I have a home day care - 6 children under the age of 4 plus 3 have autism. I have a serious post surgical spine condition and all the specialists keep telling me to lose weight. It seems the more active I am and healthier I eat I still am gaining. I have even been using Xenical/orlistat prescribed by my doctor and my belly just seems bloated and getting bigger.I feel less in control of my emotions than I did before the mirena insertion and I am convinced it is the mirena. My husband is on his way to have a vasectomy and I am going to have it removed as soon as I can get an appointment. Makes sense though in hindsight - put a foreign hormone in your body and it will fight back. I have not had any bleeding or a period since January. My breasts are often tender and have chronic IBS - was not that way before January .....can't wait to have it removed .....horrible side effects - I think the emotional side effects will last long after I have it removed.

Thank you for your advice, I will try the Mucron to see how I feel. Also I have read your post of yesterday and I am experiencing the same thing as you. I have been off Yasmin now for the last 6 months and although I feel a lot better, I still have my heart beating irregularly, exactly like you describe it:' my heart would slow right down,miss a couple of beats then start banging and jumping around then it would race'. This however tends to happen in the 10 days before my periods. I am 38 years old and maybe this is also due to a hormonal change... May I ask how old you are?

I'm 38 years old male I've been taking Lisinopril for almost one year, two months ago I started with a horrible cough, waking me up in the middle of the night gasping for air, very Scary.
I went to the doctor and I was given antibiotics and cough medicine, Thank God I found this site I always knew this cough was weird since I NEVER cough when I get sick. At this time I'm only taking natural remedies and I will go to the doctor next week, but I 'm not taking this medication EVER AGAIN.
I stopped a week ago and the cough hasn't go away.

I've been on Yasmin for nearly 4 years and decided to stop taking this pill because like most of you I felt REALLY bad!! I had symptoms like cramps in my feet and legs, regular blackouts (I was taken to ER everytime), dizziness, shortness of breath, migraines, ear congestion, complete lack of energy and worst of all anxiety. I've also developed arthritis in my right shoulder for which I went to see a physio and thank god it is getting better.
I saw so many doctors and none of them could find anything wrong with me and none of them had the wonderful feeling that this may have been caused by Yasmin. When I told them I wanted to stop the pill, they told me there was no reason why and that I should carry on. So that was my decision to stop it and a very good one!! The doctors are wrong !
I am off Yasmin now since 1st of July 06 and it's only now that I start to feel better! I've been through so many weird symptoms: pains and swelling in both of my calves, cramps in my legs (streching helps!), nausea, heavy sweating during the night, my ears feel like they are blocked but no more of the other symptoms (blackouts have not come back)and my periods have come regularly but are very short (3 days).... My body is recovering and my calves are getting better. I also found out that I start to get cellulitis on my legs (what a nightmare), I was told by a friend that' s because of the pill!!
I am now full of energy, the anxiety has gone (I can face the world now), and I am determined NOT TO GO BACK on any C pills anymore.
I am 38 years old and have been on different pills since the age of 19, I would like to know if anybody of my age (or anybody) experienced symptoms like mine after they stopped Yasmin and how long it takes for them to disappear....

I just wanted to let you know that someone cares how you are feeling. Believe me, I do. I was on Yasmin for close to 2 years when all hell broke loose for me - anxiety and panic attacks, heart palpitations, muscle weakness ..... the list goes on and on! I thought I was going crazy ..... I was so down and thought that I would never get my life back. It has been 10 months now off of Yasmin and I am so much better. I am 38 years old so I chose not to get back on any kind of pills. I truly believe that Yasmin should not be prescribed so PLEASE, if you can... try not to get back on Yasmin. Good luck to you and know that someone shares your pain. As you can see, I still come to this website to read all of the post (10 months later). Take care of yourself!

Hi, I feel so much better after discovering this site, as I now know I'm not the only one suffering horrible side effects from Yasmin!

I was on it for just over 5 months and last week I just stopped taking it after I realised that the terrible way I was feeling was due to this pill. Anyway, to cut a long story short, the side effects I have are: leg pain and leg/ankle swelling, also cramps, worsening of my bi-polar mood disorder, nausea, increse in severity and frequency of migraines, dizziness, blurred vision, nervousness, fatigue and to me, worse of all, weight gain which is all on my breasts and stomach!

I am 38 years old and I have ALWAYS had a washboard flat stomach, now I have a little pot belly which is freaking me out because I can't fit into or suit my usual clothes which I always chose to emphasise and cling to my waist and stomach! I feel that I want to stop eating, I am so upset, I feel ugly and fat and I just want my flat stomach back! Please tell me I can get it back to normal!

My doctor wants me to start on the mini-pill, but do I need to wait for my side effects to wear off first? Also, does anyone know how long it will teke me to get back to normal, after being on the drug for 6 months? I have been off it now for 6 days and I still suffer from all the side-effects as yet....

I am 38 years old and was prescribed Omnicef for bronchitis. After three doeses I have elevated heart rate, raw patches on ears, face flushed, can't sleep, no appetite.

Unfortunately I found this website years too late but maybe my entry will help someone else and prevent them from the misery and altered life that I now have.

I am 38 years old and I have had excema since I was a small child. When I was in my early 20's my Doctor prescribed for me what I thought was a miricle drug. I live in Atlanta and in the hot and humid months I couldn't stay outside in the heat or I would develop a severe rash from the excema on the insides of my legs. Once I started using the medication the doctor prescribed my rash would disapear. It was actually regular lotion that had Triamcinolone AKA kENALOG injected into the bottle. I would use it each time I got out of the shower while I was still wet per my doctors instructions which just made it get into my skin even more. The bottle had no warning label and needless to say over a short period of time I begin to develop stretch marks on the insides of my upper thighs. I was newly married and very embarrased and had no clue that it was caused by the lotion that I was prescribed. I hid it for a while thinking that I was just getting overweight and that was causing the marks but the damage was already done. In a short period of time the marks were down to my knee and spreading to the inside of my calfs. The stretch marks are 3/4 of an inch wide and some of them are 9 and 10 inches long and dark purple. I went to doctor after doctor and had test after test just not my dermatoligist tryiing to find out what was wrong with me and when I realized that it was the lotion I was just horrified. I went into a shell and had a very difficult time dealing with it. I couldn't talk about it or show anyone my legs. I thought I was a FREAK. Needless to say I waited too long to pursue a medical malpractice against the doctor but it has altered my life greatly. I don't go out in public in shorts or even a skirt. I can't go to the beach or anywhere in public in a bathing suit because I am so self consious about my legs. I have a wonderful husband and fortunately he loves me for me and not my looks but I can't tell you that it has not altered his life as well. My children don't understand why their mom doesn't wear shorts and things like other moms.

This drug has altered and changed my life in almost every aspect pysically and emotionally and I will never be the same but hopefully my story will prevent someone else from having to deal with all the pain and misery that I have had. I was told I was past the statue of limitations in Georgia to pursue anything legally so hopefully I can help you on a personal leval before this happens to you. What side effects?! The only thing I have experienced are mild headaches during the placebo week which are easily controlled with ibuprofen. I am 38 years old and have been on Yasmin for five years. I was getting huge ovarian cysts while on ortho tri-cyclen, but with the Yasmin, cysts occur less often and not as severe. In the five years I have been on Yasmin, my PMS symptoms have decreased significantly, I've lost weight and have been able to keep it under control, and my libido has increased. (This is probably because I haven't suffered the monthly water retention in the last five years). I do not suffer any unusual fatigue. In fact, I'm able to keep up with my two teenagers more than when they were toddlers. I love the Yasmin!

I am 38 years old, put on 40mg Zocor 3 months agao because of high cholesterol. While it lowered my overall numbers, I started having a fuzziness in my head, not sharp minded, fatigue. I exercise 4x a week and was losing energy. At first, I associated it with stress until my stressful project was finished, doctor upped my dosage to 80mg and it hit me, it was the Zocor.
