I was prescribed Levaquin 750 for 5 days for resolving pneumonia. I didn't finish the last pill due to increased heart rate and severe anxiety. These symptoms did stop for me. However, about a good 2-3 wks later my wrist started hurting. I thought I may have slept on it funny or something. Then a day or two later, my jaw started hurting so bad I couldn't chew at times. Another 2-3 days which leads me to today, I am having tingling/shock sort of feelings running thru my legs and arms and still having the jaw and wrist pain. I have an appt next week with my doc. I'm sure she'll send me thru all the tests everyone here has mentioned to no avail. This is very frustrating and scarey. I wish folks would repost and let the rest of us know how they are progressing. I will post back after my visit. I am going to try the magnesium and 5-htp the gentleman said worked for his wife. I am becoming a firm believer in a more holistic and natural approach to healing. I know sometimes chemical medicines save lives but this one has caused my life a lot of pain that I feel was not necessary for a very light case of walking pneumonia. Good luck to everyone. Please keep your progress updated to help the rest of us out.

It is Fluoride Poisoning that has caused nerve damage!!! Natural vitamins that can be found anywhere are 5-HTP to help rebuilld the seretonin levels in your nerve system and Magnesium pills or magnesium rich foods will help quicken the process of ridding your body of the fluoride. It is mostly a waiting game, but these will help!!! My 26 year old wife was down for 2 and a half weeks before she stopped listening to the doctors and starting taking these supplements and felt better within 3 days and was back to normal within 1 week of starting these two natural supplements!!!

hi jillybean. good luck with the diet i hope it goes well for you. i have tried the 5-htp as i heard it could be beneficial for depression/anxiety. I only took it for a few days as i have IBS and it gave me 4 days worth of stomach cramps and diarreah, i also found that if i took it at night it gave me really vivid dreams. bad effects aside i did feel calmer taking it but it was just no good for me as i have a sensitive tummy. i only add this as i know a lot of us run out and buy anything in the hope that it will help (i know i have spent a fortune on herbal supplements in the last year!) i'm not saying don't try it but on some web sites it does not recommend it if you have a history of bowel or GI problems,i only found this out after i starting getting stomach cramps! for those of you taking low dose anti-depressants it could be worth trying if you want to get off the prescription meds.there have been some really good reports about 5-htp working just as well as some AD's.
(no not take this whilst taking anti-depressants,it may be worth checking with your health care provider to make sure you are ok to take it and that it will not interact with any other meds you may be on.)
keep fighting the good fight ladies and remember what doesn't kill us makes us stronger!

I am now 5 months off yasman and doing Jenny Craig to loose the weight gained while on Yasmin. I wanted to tell everyone that I found this new supplement that might help a lot of you - instead of depression and anxiety meds. Check out 5-HTP. It helps you to sleep, calms you down, and takes away your carb craving so you can loose weight.
Thank God for this websight! It has turned my life around.

andiegags,
my pms was never like this either! i had very few pms symptoms before yasmin,i would be a bit cranky a couple of days before i came on my period and has sore boobs but other than that, nothing! i have been investigating my symptoms again lately and have found that some birth control pills can cause pms or pmdd and if you look at the symptoms of pms on a good site many of the anxiety problems etc are common to extreme pms. some birth control pills are also known to reduce serotonin levels in the brain (this also happens naturally in women with pms around ovulation) so that may explain the anxiety/depression getting worse around ovulation/menstruation. i am just about to try adding a low dose of 5-htp to see if that will help improve my anxiety,i already take magnesium, calcium, and a vitamin b complex along with omega 3,6 & 9 oil. i really feel for you,i had a really bad episode of anxiety last year that lasted about 6 months,i developed agoraphobia as a result and i still have days when i can't leave the house especially when i am ovulating.i hope that things will improve,i know it will take time but i am convinced that recovery is possible and probable!

I've been reading through all of the postings and I feel just terrible for everyone who has had a bad experience. However, I can honestly say that Singulair has saved my life. I have severe allergy induced asthma, and until I went on singulair, I felt sick every day of my life. I couldn't go anywhere outside of my house without having a reaction. I was allergic to not only cats and dogs, but also to any person who had a cat or dog. It was impossible for me to step into anyones house who had pets or to invite pet owners into my own home!! (That dander gets everywhere!) I am also allergic to everything else- mold, pollen, dust, you name it. In the past, I used albuterol to combat the attacks. Using my rescue inhaler always left me feeling loopy, dizzy, and shaky.....but since I've been on Singulair, (3 years) I think I've used my inhaler only twice!!! In my opinion, it is a miracle drug. I cannot say that I've had any psychological effects caused by Singulair. I have had anxiety disorder for 10 years, which i currently treat with 50 mg of 5-HTP per day (a natural herbal OTC supplement). Singulair has not made my anxiety worse- if anything- I feel less anxious because I no longer have the fear of having asthma attacks every where I go. Everyone reacts to medication differently, but for me it is a wonderful drug- hopefully researchers will be able to pinpoint the cause of the side effects other people are reporting.
