Oh my God I feel like I want to cry. I am so glad I found this site, I thought I was going crazy. So my pressure was up so on the 10/20/09 he prescribed me lisinopril I started taking it.I went to the emergency on the 11/10/09 I stayed int the hospital for 3 days. My chest was hurting, pain and tingling in my arms and legs, pain behind my eyes, cramping in my abdomen, a feeling in my head of light headedness,a feeling like i was losing my mind like on the verge of insanity, a feeling of a pain in my left side like i was having a stroke, Shortness of breath. I think that I experienced just about every side effect listed in the book. And you know the funny thing about this is even while I laid in the hospital bead and them not finding anything wrong after several ekgs, chest xray, and cat scans they still gave me the same lisinopril while i was in the hospital and these doctors were getting frustrated with me because they did not find anything wrong with me but all along it was the lisinopril wow thats crazy!
Thanks for the info guys you might have just saved my life I am done taking that medication I'll diet and cut back on the salt.
Thanks

I know that for every woman, the side effects or various medications and hormones are different. I personally had the Mirena IUD inserted a little over 3 years ago on the recommendation of a friend who, at the time, had nothing but positive things to say about it. I went on that recommendation alone, and now wish that I had done more research into the side effects before having one inserted.
The initial insertion was not horrible, but not great either- a pinch at insertion, severe cramping and pain within a few hours, and a dull aching feeling in my abdomen for about a week. After that, though, I couldn't feel the IUD at all.
It was not long after that when I began to experience side effects. Like many of you, I attributed my symptoms to stress and life changes. I figured that my migraines, back pain, fatigue, dizziness, increasing urinary tract infections, and weight gain were a result of a changing metabolism and high-stress job.
When I went to my family physician to have blood work done (because I was declared anemic when trying to give blood), I was told that I wasn't getting enough iron and I went on iron supplements. (The supplements then made me constipated- sorry if that is TMI, but that was a very unwelcome result!) When I took trip after trip to my ob/gyn for antibiotics to treat UTIs, I was told that the UTIs were unrelated to the IUD. When I saw a urologist to have three separate tests done (one for hormone levels, another for uterine function, and yet another to test kidney function), all tests came back within normal range. Even when I went to the ER one Saturday morning, when my back was spasming so badly that I could barely walk or stand, I was told that my back pain was stress-related.
All the while, my friend (the one who recommended the IUD in the first place) was dealing with similar problems- weekly severe migraines, back pain, etc. She was being told the same things by her ob/gyn- none of her symptoms were related to the IUD. Since she and I trusted our doctors completely, we went on about our lives, upped our workout regimens, tried to de-stress as much as possible, took OTC pain meds when it was all too much to bear- and yet for both of us, our symptoms continued.
Then, in July, my husband and I decided to begin trying for a baby. I made my appointment to have the IUD removed (which was a painless process), and it was only then that I began to research the Mirena IUD online. My former ob/gyn had moved, and my new one seemed ill-informed about what to expect once the IUD was removed. I wanted to know how soon I could conceive, and she knew very little about the process- heck, she didn't even know what the hormone was called that she had given me to jump-start my period (it was progestin, by the way- a very common prescription that my paramedic husband knew quite a bit about, but the ob/gyn didn't even know the name of!).
Once I got online and found this site (among many others), I finally began to put two and two together. I am now firmly convinced that my symptoms were directly related to the Mirena IUD. Again, different women are affected in different ways, but I know that for me- nothing good came of messing with Mother Nature like that.
Now that I've had the IUD out for about four months, I feel like a different human being. I did experience the "Mirena Crash," but once that passed, I almost immediately began losing weight, my abdomen was no longer blown up like a balloon, my energy level and sex drive increased, my back pain is now gone, and I haven't had a migraine or UTI since.
I've since switched ob/gyns, but I now have a healthy distrust of anything medically new and experimental. I will never have the Mirena inserted again, and I will definitely research anything and everything regarding my body. Ladies, listen to your bodies- mine was screaming at me loud and clear for over three years, and even though I knew that something was very wrong, I didn't listen. I'm just happy that I "accidentally" figured it out. (Oh, and my friend will be having her IUD removed later this week. She and I now call ourselves the "sister skeptics!")

bleeding,
I chose Mirena to help with my severe PMDD and heavy periods, as well as Birth Control pills give me migraines. Depo shots made me gain weight and lose sex drive.
Had Mirena put in this past July. I bled solid for 2 months. Stopped for a few days, started again. I now bleed 3 out of 4 weeks of the month, and my PMDD still comes as usual, though not nearly as badly, same as my periods. This is the only positive thing I've had. My periods had been so heavy they interrupted my life.
My sex drive, previously higher than my husbands, is now dead, and I hate it.
I've gained 20 pounds and CANNOT get it back off.
I'm always tired, wasn't before.
I have constant stabbing pains in my abdomen. After orgasms, it hurts horribly.
I will leave my Mirena in merely because even though I bleed all the time, it is preferable to the heavy bleeding I'd have before I had the Mirena inserted. I'm also willing to put up with the weight gain and sex drive loss, because to me, the lighter bleeding and lack of cramping outweighs the weight gain and sex drive loss issues.

I had Mirena since Sept 2008. All I felt was a slight cramp when it was put in and a minor ache for a few hours afterward. I had some spotting for about 4 days after it and then nothing. Periods got lighter each month but the spotting got longer and longer.
I stumbled across this sight a few days ago when I was wondering if the Mirena could cause weight gain. After reading everyone's experience with it, everything started to come together. I got it 3 months after my daughter was born. I had gained 80 pounds while pregnant and lost 40 within 3 months. I then had that damn IUD put in. I gained it all back. I haven't been able to lose anything after gaining it all back. I have trouble just trying to maintain my weight. This is what I've experienced so far: weight gain, facial hair, cramping, sharp abdominal pains, joint pain, constant exhaustion, mood swings, bloating, tingling sensations, headaches/migraines, 15 days of spotting each month, constant hunger, no sex drive... I've had blood work, tests on my stomach and abdomen, iron infusions... All my doctor was telling me to do is change my diet and exercise when I went about the exhaustion. I've done that and gained 3 more pounds!
It's scheduled to come out December 4th. That day can't come fast enough for me!

I switched to Yasmin one month ago. I have terrible problems with ovarian cysts, cramps, back pain and mood swings all relating to my cycle/hormones. Before i was on Portia for a year and wasn't at all happy with it. I suppose I didn't realize how different bc's are from one another. Well, my gyno suggested Yasmin to help with all these. Because as soon as I go off the pill for my week of menstruation the stabbing pains in my abdomen start. (Literally the next morning after not taking the first reminder pill) She thinks it would be best to skip periods all together.
I have noticed being tired around the same time of day every day. I have always had motion sickness while reading so that remains. Overall I am happy with Yasmin but I will definitely look out for any side effects after reading these posts. Thanks you so much everyone for sharing! If I begin to have any of these unusual symptoms I'll know right away that it is the Yasmin.

I had Mirena put in this past February..I've given birth to 4 children and DO NOT want anymore..Upon consulting my physician I was under the impression that there were RARELY side effects..So I had the MIRENA put in this past February..For the first three months i bled EVERYDAY..I almost had it removed but then bleeding stopped to only spotting a couple days out the month(which I assumed would be my period) For the past couple months i've had a pain in my left lower abdomen and finally went to the doctor..I had an ultrasound and found out I now have ovarian cysts..I thought i'd look on the internet and found that there is a link between ovarian cysts and MIRENA..Also, since I had it put in, i've had at least 10 MAJOR yeast infections(which included a very bad odor & the worst itching) I have NEVER had problems like this before!!!! I've also experienced pains in my knee, thighs and back..I don't know if those are related to the MIRENA, but I NEVER had all these issues before.. I will be discussing other methods of b.c with my doctor AND getting this thing removed ASAP!!!!

I had my Mirena inserted in November 08. I immediately started experiencing sever mood swings and I was very angry and mean. I stayed depressed nearly the whole year to the point of feeling suicidal. I had nigh sweats and pains. I also gained almost 25 lbs during 1 year. My Mirena got "lost" in may of 09 and I could not feel the string, I had to have a sonogram to find it. That was really horrible. 4 weeks ago I started having a discharge and severe stabbing pains on the right side of my abdomen. I went to ER to have someone check me out but I left because teh wait was too long. The next morning I went to two doctors to try and locate the IUD and check for issues and they couldn't find the IUD or anything wrong with me. I knew I wasn't imagining the symptoms and I felt like I was going crazy. I finally got in to see my OB and she was able to locate and remove the IUD. The removal was extremely painful. She told me that the IUD was embedded into the back wall of my uterus. Its been exactly 1 week today since I had it removed and I feel 100% better. Almost all of my symptoms are gone. I would not recommend the Mirena to my worst enemy.

Had the shot on Monday the 19the of October for allergies, went on brisk walk on Tues evening had tightening of chest numbing of face then extreme pains in abdomen area that ended up sending me to the ER. All tests came back negative followed up with both family practice and OB and no one can come up with reasons for pain and discomfort am beginning to think that it was all related to Kenalog shot.

I am 49 years old and got the Mirena for heavy bleeding / perimenopause systems. I was told I would probably stop having periods a couple months after insertion and that appealed to me. I had it put in place on Friday October 30. Insertion was uncomfortable but over quickly and I did not bleed much as a result. I woke up Saturday nauseous with a head ache and tingly feelings in my extremities. I also felt this thing inside me. I laid on my side, I could feel it. I felt a heaviness inside. I took tylenol and Pepto for headaches and nausea but it persisted. I felt very tired and my skin itched. Sunday the same thing. Tingling, headache, nausea and the sensation of having a foreign object inside. My abdomen hurt too. I took tylenol and Pepto but as the day went on I felt worse. I wanted it out! I called a Consulting Nurse who recommended I go to Urgent Care. I went to Urgent Care last night. My blood pressure was very high as well. The Dr said it was a reaction to the hormone. I got the think taken out and felt immediately better. Today my skin itches but that will go away. I have decided to try natural Progesterone cream and other natural methods vs. synthetic hormones.

I've had Mirena since Jan. 2006. This is what's going on with me.
EXTREMELY bloated all the time, diagnosed as IBS. I’ve tried everything: herbs, teas, diet changes, prescription meds (currently on anti-depressant (for the IBS, not depression) and an anti-spasmatic pill), and non-prescription meds (currently taking beano before every meal and gas-x after the beano has not worked!)
Irritability
Tired all the time
Not motivated to do anything
Forgetful
Loss of concentration, I have the attention span of a 3 year old it seems!
Heart fluttering and dizziness like a panic attack. The doctor actually said it was panic attacks but I honestly don’t feel “panicked” when they happen.
Fluttering in abdomen as if there were a baby in there
Sometimes feel a pulling or stinging sensation in my uterus
Hubby can feel the strings and we think they are irritating his manhood
A lot of these symptoms seem like depression but all praise be to God, I have a wonderful life. I have the greatest husband and kids I could ever ask for. I love our life. I’m not unhappy at all. I didn’t consider that it may be the Mirena until my husband mentioned that he thought the strings were causing the irritation on his penis. I started googling Mirena to see if anyone else had this problem and came up with so many “other” symptoms of Mirena. I thought “WOW!! Maybe THAT’S my problem!” Maybe it’s time to make that appointment to get it out.

I had no noticeable side effects when I first got it but now two and half years later, I have all the symptoms cited by other contributors. My breasts ache all the time, I have trouble concentrating, feel exhausted (even when I go to bed at 9:00 pm), feeling worthless, weight gain, bloated, arguing and complain all the time. Oh, and the ovarian cyst that caused soreness in my abdomen. I have so many symptoms and never put it together with the Mirena, probably because they came on slowly over time. The last year has been horrible! I'm finally getting it out tomorrow. Has anyone else experienced a gradual increase in symptoms over time?

I have had Mirena put in Feb 09, so it has been 8 months and for 7months I have had a yeast infection that wont go away. It gets really bad the week before my period and the week after its not too bad. I have used OTC drugs and prescriptions. I have never had a YI before I had the mirena. I do believe it is the reason I have one, so I am going to get it removed. I have also been very tired and foggy feeling and never made that connection until reading all these posts.

Hi, I am a mother of 2, and not quite 23 years old and got the Mirena inserted at my 6 week check up after having my second. I read all the literature that the Dr. gave me and I was sure that Mirena was the right thing for me (no where in the brochures did I read anything about the symptoms Ive read about here or anywhere else on the internet). I started having incredibly horrible mood swings, bloating, fatigue, nausea (sooo bad, every day) back pain, neck pain, no sex drive (!!!), depressed, lazy, headaches (to the point where I thought my head was going to explode), constantly hungry, acne, smelled maple syrup constantly, complaining all the time about everything, weight gain (only 7 lbs but I just had a baby, I need to lose weight, and I'm nursing),chest pain, and some other symptoms but the most important one is the stomach pain i was having. The pain in my stomach felt like a knife, and I kept having pain in my right side. So after a few days of this pain I went to the dr. he ordered an ultrasound of my abdomen and I am scheduled to get that done Wednesday. My doctor thinks that I may have gallbladder disease or something else seriously wrong with me that we suspect is induced by the Mirena. Keep in mind that I've had this thing in me for about 4 months!!! So after my doctors appointment I typed into google "side effects from Mirena" and Omg, I wish that I had done that before I got the thing inserted, those brochures about the Mirena make it seem like a Godsend and I am all for a lawsuit due to the problems I am having and the depression Ive felt. My 3 year old has suffered from my mood swings, every time id feel it coming I had to make her go to her room :( that poor girl deserves to have a mother that is not so depressed and ill that she can actually play, and both of them deserve that really, and im doing the best I can.... anyways I removed it myself yesterday, i had a hard time finding it but I took it out and I feel as if a huge burden has been lifted, EXCEPT I have been cramping very bad, spotting and incredibly sick, i also read about this thing called "the mirena crash" no matter how long you've had it in, if the hormones were in your system then you are effected and can feel very ill from it (and it can happen to women who had no problems while on it at all, even after 5 yrs). Im hoping that I have nothing wrong at my doctors appt on Wednesday when I get the ultrasound, and it may just be a cyst, turns out that is a side effect of mirena as well, that and bleeding the first several months (oh yeah, I did for about 2 months maybe 10 weeks altogether) Im also hoping that my daughter whom I am nursing is not sick as well :/
oh and for anybody out there thinking that the only women gaining weight are fat to begin with, well I am usually 105 lbs, after my baby I weighed 145, lost some weight, went down to 130ish gained it all back then some, losing weight is easy for me because I diet and exercise like I should, now I am doing all that and nursing a child.... and hello weight, when it really should be goodbye... well goodbye mirena I WONT miss you!!!!

Just got it put in on Friday and Today is Thursday, so 6 days. I have cried nearly non-stop for 5 of these 6 days, and today I actually felt suicidal (first time EVER). Oh, thank GOD I found this site - I am getting it taken out asap. ALSO, I have gained 5 pounds in these 6 days for no reason, and my abdomen and breasts are aching, and I cannot achieve orgasm. I thought I was going nuts! Finally, I have slept 12-14 hours per 24 hour period since it was inserted (I usually do 7 or 8) but now I am exhausted and my head hurts all the time. I WAS TOLD NO SIDE EFFECTS!!!! God I am so mad and I feel so mislead...

I have had Mirena in for about a year. I got it because after trying birth control pills, I was getting severe migraines all the time. My doctor told me I was at risk for stroke and should never take birth control pills again. Not wanting to have to use condoms the rest of my life, I asked for options other than the pill. My doctor strongly recommended Mirena. Well, I had it put in in September of 2008. At first I had the normal symptoms of heavy bleeding, severe cramps, etc. But after about 2 months that calmed down. However, I felt bloated all the time and started gaining weight. I was only 21 at the time, and had never had a problem with weight gain in my entire life. I wasn't over-eating, and I was still exercising. In the last year I have gained about 20 pounds. Anyways, around January I got a large cyst on one of my ovaries which eventually burst, but I still feel like I have sharp stabbing pains in my abdomen quite a lot. The real problem started a few months ago. I have been getting severe migraines again, and they are coming more and more frequently. I get optical auras with the migraines and often feel tingling in my face and hands. I am concerned that something more severe could be wrong or that Mirena is putting me at risk for stroke. I was told this would not happen with Mirena, but I have had no other significant changes that could account for the migraines. I have had migraines since I was a little girl, but never this often or with the strange tingling. The only other time I had migraines like this was on the pill. I really like Mirena because it is easy and I don't have to think about it, but I hate the migraines, weight gain, bloating, cysts, etc. I don't know what else I would use, though, since I can't be on estrogen-based birth controls. Does anybody have any advice? I am only 22 years old and don't want children for a while. I really don't know what to do.

I've posted my side effects in July and I'm scheduled to have it removed next week. I"ve had mood swings, cramps, no periods except some spotting, weight gain, extreme fatigue, dizziness etc.
Does anyone else have "good" days - days that you that you have no cramping, you're in good mood, no fatigue? I wonder if the Mirena releases the (progesterone) levonorgestrel unevenly throughout the month? Some days I feel really good and think the side effects must be in my head and then a few days later I feel like crap again! (The Mirena website says it releases 20ug of levonorgestrel a day). I felt good the past few days, I had more energy. Actually got some stuff done around the house. Today I woke up and I feel dizzy and sharp pains in my abdomen.

Had my IUD inserted Feb 11 2009 with no complications. The first 2 months I bleed non stop (had ultrasound to confirm placement and had my hemoglobin level checked). By July I had gained 24lbs and looked 4 months pregnant. My hair was oily, my skin was oily and breaking out, and I was no able to sleep at night. Only pro so far was the lack of my menses - only smearing for a couple of days every month. I had it removed since my husband had his vasectomy and felt great for 3 weeks... then the trouble started. I bloated up, and my GI system shut down. I was so constipated no matter what I tried it was unsuccessful. My back was killing me and I felt like my insides were falling out. My breasts swelled up, were warm, and nipples actually discharged a lot of what looked like milk!!!! (pregnancy tests -'ve). My headaches were monumental - nothing got rid of them! II also felt cold... it didn't matter how hot it was outside of if the humidex made it impossible to breath- I would be wrapped up in a blanket, and sweater and have the chills. had insane waves of nausea and vomiting and this lingering lethargy that would have me sleeping 10 hours a night (never heard my 1yr & 2 1/2yr old at night) and could nap at least 2x/day. My doctor repeated an abdominal and pelvic ultrasound and found nothing wrong. It is now 3 months post removal and I am just beginning to feel like myself. The back pain is still there but faint, unfortunately the weight has not come off and my abdomen is still distended but not as firm as before. I am praying as time goes by the weight disappears. I wish I knew all this before hand.

I am a Registered Nurse and feel foolish that I wasn't able to connect the dots sooner. Yasmin's effects for me were insidious thereby slipping under the radar as the culprit responsible for all of the side effects I was experiencing. On Yasmin for 3 years:
- feelings of shortness of breath
- heart palpitations
- horrible anxiety and feelings of panic (not good when you're a nurse in the
ICU)
- insomnia (never had trouble sleeping before)
- varicose veins on my stomach??!!
- strange weight gain around my abdomen I could not lose despite my best
efforts
- ear popping and a feeling of fullness in my head
- constant runny nose requiring new prescriptions for nasal sprays and
allergy pills that did not work
- new abdominal bloating (ultrasound was negative)
- UTI (never had one of those before)
- strange colored periods
- agoraphobia (previously outgoing)
- depressed--lost interest in things I previously enjoyed, moody & angry,
- horrible fatigue (unable to jog anymore without becoming drained for days
- sharp debilitating headaches (CT negative)
- breast pain
- cellulite I've never had before
- and last but not least, compromised circulation to my right arm causing it
to go numb and change in color (Doppler showed partial arterial
obstruction that has since improved since quitting Yasmin)
Quit Yasmin 2 1/2 months ago and everything is resolving itself slowly. A big price to pay for good skin.

I have been on Yasmin now for around 7-8 months and am shocked at the responses that I have heard. Now that I have read into this I have had similar experiences with this pill - I have been on countless contraceptive pills since 15years and am now 25yrs and heard this was one of the best pills advised by my GP but one of the more expensive ones so were reluctant to put me on it!- previous problems, migraines, high blood pressure, weight gain and extreme IBS and spots but this pill apparently would cure this!
I have always had problems with being on the pill as they make my period pains worsen, cramps, extreme IBS however when I am off the pill I don't experience these symptoms - Does anyone experience the same?????
Have been to doctors several times with pains in my abdomen, chest and had to go to hospital to get this checked several times and got scans all normal no problems - i wonder if this pill has anything to do with this?????
Since being on Yasmin have noticed changes such as depression and feelings of extreme loneliness, feeling not so great in myself even thou my fiance tells me every day am gorjus, mood swings, wanting to burst out crying, headaches, extreme tiredness all day every day, and most recently extreme weight gain to my stomach is this normal am healthy eating and started exercising more to help but seems to be getting worse?????
It's really getting me down and am in the middle of planning my wedding and find myself not being excited or getting annoyed but it should be the happiest times planning my wedding. Advice..........????

I had my Mirena inserted on 7/22 and I'm getting it taken out tomorrow (8/4)! This product needs to be taken off the market. I have already reported it to the FDA. I am a total picture of health (25 years old at 150 pounds at 5'11")--eat the right foods, exercise almost daily, no other medications, etc. Since having this thing inserted two weeks ago, I have felt TERRIBLE! Symptoms include: stabbing pains in the legs and hips, joint pains especially in the wrists, headaches, backaches, uterus pain especially in the right side (but left side as well), tingling in many parts of the body (toes, face, abdomen, legs, and arms), nausea, no libido, and blurry vision. I was fine with spotting (this is the only side effect that the doc mentioned), but the other side effects are ridiculous! This needs to be taken off the market immediately, so that other women do not suffer. I will gladly take a pill everyday to get this thing out of me!!

I am 45 and had the device inserted in June. Since then I have had an annoying constant red-brown discharge and my period three times. My menstrual cramps are definitely greatly lessened but what is freaking me out (apart from the discharge) is the anxiety I am experiencing for no reason. I am also feeling depressed. I am greatly concerned as being on the pill many years ago I had a mild stroke and my doctor assured me that the hormones ion the Mirena stay in the uterus. Why then the sudden anxiety attacks? I have always been a really laid-back person - I can only relate this sudden appearance of anxiety to the Mirena - it started about two weeks after I had it inserted.
I am now debating whether to ride it out - has anyone had the anxiety subside?

I had a lap done last year in May and my doctor removed an adhesion that was hanging above my uterus. Also a fibroid (3 cm) was found in the muscle and is located right against my bladder. My doctor could not remove the fibroid because of its location and because of a risk that I might have scar tissue and could be a problem to get pregnant. He also said that I could have some other complications, like lose a lot of blood. I feel like he is not being straight with me. I also have ovarian cysts which is common in the women in my family. Since a teenager, I always had really bad cramps and heavy bleeding. As I got older, it became worse. Before I had the lap done, I bleed for 6 weeks straight. I was changing pads every 30 minutes. Then my stomach extended so far out that I looked pregnant. I could not sit or stand. My husband had to take me to the E.R. An ultrasound was done and found that my uterus was enlarged (9 cm). I was put on Nothridone to control the bleeding and to treat endometriosis. After taking 2 months of this drug my doctor did a vag lap and abdomen lap. Everything was good that is what he said. I believed it. I was doing better. I was working and had no pain for 8 months. Then it all changed for the worse. I started to have really heavy menstrual bleeding and lots of blood clots. I felt week all the time and sick. The bleeding went on for 8 weeks and finally my doctor said that I had to take Lupron injections. I asked my doctor if he could just do a myomectmy and he said no because that was should be the last result. I could no longer stand the pain and I asked him what kind of side effects come with this drug. He made it sound like it was not bad and that there are very little side effects. He gave me a some information about the drug and I read the information and I did a lot of research. I was terrified but I had to make a choice. I was calling in sick because I could not work with the pain and worrying about embarrassing moments when my pads failed to keep me from overflowing. So I took the 1st shot in May along with add-bak therapy which is Nothridone. The bleeding tapered off slowly and the pelvic pain decreased. I did not feel any side affects right away until the second week. I started to forget things and would just stand in the middle of a room feeling confused. I always had headaches since a child but now they are pounding headaches, which I cannot stand any noise. I also can't stand the light. I have body aches like I have the flu and have problems with my right hip all of a sudden. I had a x-ray done because my doctor thought I might have fractured my hip. There was no sign of a fracture but my pelvis id tilted. I have some arthritis in my spine which I do not understand how that happened. Sometimes I cannot walk and I have to use crutches to get around. I cry all the time because I am extremely sensitive and confused. I use to be a very strong person and now I just cry all the time. I called my doctor to tell him what I have been experiencing and he said its all normal. I have already had a total of three Lupron injections and the symptoms just get worse. I have been spotting here and there, sometimes I have a pinkish discharge, and now the pelvic pain is back. My doctor knows this and he just says its normal. I requested for another ultrasound because I am worried something is wrong and he said that I have to wait until I get the 6th injection.I feel like my doctor is insensitive but he is supposed to be the best GYN doctor where I live. I also want to say that I have gained 20 pounds in three months. My sex drive is gone. My hair is thinning. I lost my job because I ran out of FMLA. This has been a nightmare! I am losing trust in my doctor. My poor husband and family are having to put up with what I am going through. I pray all the time to help be stay focused and think positive. I just do not know what to do anymore. Is there anyone out there that can give me some advice?

-- By niavai | Reply | Private Message meI am literally crying - tears - reading all of your posts because I have been totally stressed this week trying to figure out what is wrong with me... I am 33 and mother of 3 so I just thought it was normal to be tired constantly. I had Mirena put in Dec of 2008 so almost a year now. At first not a big deal, slight spotting here and there. Now I am headed to the doctor with 100 symptoms. I have felt ALL the things you all are saying, the mood swings, random crampiness, feeling like a period is coming, but nothing happens. Cramping after sex and almost always spotting the following day. Low back pain, hip/groin pain too. Feeling bloated/ full/swollen in my low abdomen. I've had a headache just about everyday for the last 2 weeks and I have been nauseous (feeling like I'm preggo again) since I got the Mirena. Anxiety, dizziness, etc etc etc. Finally called the Dr because after 10 months of no periods, I have now been actually bleeding for a week. It has scared me to death thinking I have cysts, or worse!! It has helped tremendously hearing your stories although I am sorry that so many of us are going through this.
Of course my doctor won't get me in for another 6 days - but at least I am going. The nurse made it sound like the IUD may be out of place! I have felt uncomfortable all along knowing that there was this foreign object lodged in my body so I am sure I will be getting it removed no matter what they tell me. I just have to figure out what my next step is.... I am not prepared to have any more children!
3 is amazing, but just about all I can handle right now! : )
Thanks for your posts, they have calmed my fears tremendously.
