I am a 27 y/o male in good physical condition (i did a triathlon 2 months ago) I was prescribed levaquin 750mg a week ago for an throat infection and fever. After the first dose I had sever abdominal pain (like someone was stabbing me). After the 3rd dose my back started to hurting and my calf's cramped up. I stopped the medication immediately. It has been 5 days since I stopped the medication and I have a burning sensation on my back. It is on both sides and stretches around toward my stomach. It feels like I have bad sunburn but there is no redness, swelling or discoloration. I also still have fever and muscle spasms all over my body (mostly in my legs). I went to my doctor yesterday and he is running a bunch of blood testes and I hope he can find a way to treat the symptoms. Does anyone know how long this should last? I just want it to go away so I can get on with my life. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

I'm so glad I tripped accross this site. I have had the coughing and sleep problems with Lis. as well, but I feel that it's mostly my fault, not my pcp or pharmacist, for being ignorant. What other bp meds have worked for you all?

Hi there...I came accross your posting and to answer your question....The toxic chemicals in Lupron stay in your body for up to 3 months after your last shot and you feel your most amount of side effects in those three months even though you are not getting shots. For example if you had 6 months of treatment then you will feel side effects for 9 months. Everyone thinks that because they don't get shots any more everything will go away...but the chemical is so strong it stays in your body for a few months after. Caffeine is your worst enemy when you are on Lupron. Lupron already depletes your body of so many essential vitamins.....Vitamin B deficiency is one of them......Lupron attacks your nervous system therefore making some people stress and have so many side effects.....a good Vitamin B complex will help and One cup of Coffee depletes your body of 8 glasses of water....well we need water (a mineral) in order for vitamins to absorb into our body....so our vitamins will not work if we have caffeine...plain and simple....do you have caffeine daily...if so minimize it just for a month or two and drink more water with a vitamin B complex.....also a calcium tablet would be good right about now to replace the bone loss associated with Lupron......because you were on anti depressents you did not feel most of the side effects these women go through....but that does not mean your body did not go through the changes ....you need to replenish your body with good things now that the toxic chemical of Lupron has been in your body...hope this helps.

My 2.5 year old son just started taking singulair a week ago. He has had problems with allergies since he was about 6 months old. He has been on Zyrtec since then. This spring the Zyrtec just didn't seem to be doing a very good job supressing his allergies plus with a higher dose of Zyerc it made him very tired and irratable. So I brought him in and was perscribed Singulair for him. First couple of days everything was fine. By the third day he started throwing up in the A.M. He hasen't had an appitite since then. It's been five days. Also, after giving him the medicine at night he coughs and coughs while falling asleep. Also, his sleep pattern is very random. He has started falling asleep at odd times of the day. He then can't sleep until 12-1 A.M. He sleeps until very late hours in the morning then. He also has appeared very pale with dark circles under his eyes. Finally last night while I was at work I got a phone call from his daycare. He had broken out in a rash and was very itchy. The rash covered his face, behind his ears, accross his shoulders, and down is neck and chest. This was a very simulair rash to what had happened when he was given sulfa meds. I immediatly said to not give him the singulair that night and to give him Benadryl. This morning the rash has subsided and after reading this page I have called our doctor and have got a referance to an Allery specialist. I do know that he will not be taking Singulair anymore.

Started Lipitor 40mg. in April 2004, am 52 years of age, female. October 2004, woke up with head pressure on left side, ear pressure left side only, neck and shoulder pain. Also spasms on one side of head. This got worse. Had CT scan, chest x-rays, sinus x-rays, saw a Neurologist and no one could find a problem. Dec 2004 had to go on antibotics for a mild infection and had to discontinue the Lipitor for 10 days. I noticed during this time, my neck and shoulder improving and had pressure less pronounced, but still unable to sleep on left side. I am frustrated and am happy by nature, but been getting depressed over this.
Resumed the Lipitor in January 2005 and although my signs were not completely gone, I got bad again, and returned to another doctor. On Feb 22, 2005, I am scheduled for a carotid doppler test. I came accross this board last night. And didn't take my Lipitor, today, I dont have the head pressure, and I am hoping my ear pressure with noise leave. I can't sleep on my left side yet due to the head pressure and I am hoping by me discontinuing Lipitor that I will one day beable to lay on my left side again.
I sure hope that this solves my "mysterious" aliment. Either way, I shall NEVER take a Lipitor pill again.

Dear reader I write this as a warning and as a way to seek help. I was put on Desogen when I was 23 years old. I was on this drug to control my periods. I suffered all of the side-effects. During my first year on this pill I fractured my foot.
Why mention my foot, because hormones effect our bones as well as everything else. During my second year I lose the hair on the right side on my head. Told this to my Gyn doctor and I was enored. All the while I suffering depression, insomnia, mood swings, weight gaine, and scalp hair loss.
Buy the fourth year on Desogen I changed my doctor. Who later put me on Loestrin. This wasn't any better I was now suffering night sweats along with everything else. While on all these hormones I was also taking high blood pressure medications which only made matters worse.
All in told I have been on hormones for six years. How I stopped was by accident. Meantime I was also taking pain killers for my foot which now had been broken for five years.
After coming off all these hormones my body when though an over haul. First thing was the lost off sexual function, then there was the loss of pubic hair, the shrinkage of my right breast and right buttocks, I had surgary on my left breast to remove a precanerous lump, and now just recently I have notice the shrinkage of my righ arm.
There's alot more to tell. If any doctor comes accross this article please reply. I need all the help I can get.
