I ran across this site today and THANK GOD that I found it!! My mother wasn't initially given Lipitor because the first statin that her doctor prescribed made her very nauseous. He switched to 40mg of Lipitor about 2 weeks ago and she still gets extremely nauseous and have begun coughing and experiencing cold like symptoms. Her vision is EXTREMELY blurred; so much that she can't perform her job, and her previously prescribed eyeglasses are useless. She had been experiencing pain in her legs during walks that never seemed to get better. We NEVER associated it with Lipitor or the other statin until I decided to dig a little deeper.
I asked her if her doctor had told her to take CoQ10 whilst taking these statins and he's NEVER mentioned it!! As of today, my mother will no longer be taking these "medications". Reading these posts has been eye opening, to say the least. Thanks!!

hi all. thanks for writing your comments here. it has helped me today, another HORRIBLE day of prednisone hell. i have been seriously ill for 8 months been told ever other week I'm likely going to die from lung disease (i'm 35) and after a painful lung biopsy have been told my lung problems are almost all reversible... after a year on high dose prednisone. i was on 40mg a day for a month a while back and was so out of control from rage and crying and insomnia and panic/suicidality, ravenous appetite, that they lowered me to 30. then after biopsy they said i should be on 100mg to cure me, we settled at 60mg. it's been 24 days. The moon face started about one week in. i've gained 8 lbs. i am an emotional wreck. i have at least one rage filled attack per day where i am screaming and want to kill somebody or destroy something. some days i am so filled with hopelessness and worry i just want to die. my body changes (after just losing 30 lbs and being a work out fanatic my shortness of breath makes it impossible to walk up 2 flights of stairs without resting) face changes, acne, excess body hair (oh my god please make it stop i'm like a chia pet and i'm so afraid it is going to get worse) double chin, puffy eyes and cheeks, absolutely uncontrollable emotions and mood swings, inability to be logical or reasonable. i don't want to leave the house, i'm panicked and scared all the time. i never sleep. ambian gives me minimal relief (just started taking it) i feel like i'm losing everything, except my lung functioning is returning and i'm not going to die from this illness (they assure me THIS week) i understand light at the end of the tunnel, but living like this is unbearable most days, almost impossible the rest of the time. am i alone with the severity of this? or are all the others like me too busy hiding the sharps and crying in a corner to write on this board? thanks for listening :)
figures, forgot to mention what HELPS. no eating after 8 (7pm is better) no salt, no sugar, exercise, even just a walk every day, anything physical, i walk like a grandma on the treadmill but i still do it, sometimes it is the only thing that stops my crying. no alcohol, support and understanding from loved ones, it's not you, its the drugs. good luck.

my son has been on it now for about 4 months and has tried to commit suicide in the process of a 5 week change from keppra to the lamictal.then had to take dilantin until reached full dose of the lamictal which for him is 150mgs 2 xs a day at first the keppra made him fly in to rages so that was blamed for the suicide attempt.but just a few days ago he said that he was having weird feelings again. so i don't know what to do. waiting to hear back from the dr.i would just like to know if anyone else has experienced such severe thoughts from taking this med or if passably it could be not a high enough dose.i don't really know anymore by the way my son is only 15 and he is on the lamictal for seizures.any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I am on metoprolol succinate er.50mg. Also diivan Hct 160/25mg. I was on divan hct for about 6months or so. It didnt seem to give me any trouble except all of a sudden the Dr. sarted to talk about my liver. This scared me so I was trying to find out if this pill could cause trouble with the liver.
Then I started metoprolol succinate er about a little over a month ago. I stared to notice leg pain in my legs. I could hardly walk, the pain just kept getting worse. On my own I went off of it one day them called the Dr. He said just go off it until my appointment, which was a week away. I could tell my pulse went up some, so I started to go on a half bill to see if that would help. It helped some, but I could tell there was a little pain, but not nearley as bad. I have a real dry mouth and headache. I asked the Dr. if I could go on anything else. He said metoprolol tartrate. I think you take 2 aday. I dont know if this is any better. Let me know if you have answeres for any of these problems? Thanks

I have been posted before about my father symptom due to Lipitor, he has been stopped Lipitor nearly one year's ago and doctor put him on Ezetrol another name for zetia in Australia, he had the same side effect with that despite CPK normal and no doctors believed his problem is due to Lipitor or zetia. thanks to this side it help us a lot after one year's that he couldn't walk , getting up from chair, stoop posture, low energy he is now improving not completely but 20 % which is a lot I took him to many many doctors but it is shame for doctors that prescribing medication but don't know about the side effect. now he is taking half ezetrol5mg but nutritionist gave him therapy to lower cholesterol with food (Apple cider vinegar one spoon in water before meal 2 a day,lecithin,coq10,fish oil 4tab,oat bran, and milk thistle or st mary thistle liver tonic to detox the liver from Lipitor toxin) it is really helped him apple cider vinegar not only normalizes cholesterol but also gives energy as well so his weakness is improved 20%and also milk thistle really helped him, dizziness is getting lesser now he has hope that he is going to improve which is he did .seeing nutritionist helped him a lot rather than doctors. i will post his complete improvement .I hope for every one to get better soon

I have been on methadone for about a year now. I started at 90mgs a day and it seemed to help my fibromyalgia but now in a period of 6 months I have gained 62 lbs.I went from 109lbs to171lbs at 5ft 4in. I am fat my husband will not have a thing to do with me. He thinks I can just stop the methadone no problem. After all I have read about the withdrawals I am now scared to death, Where do I find help? Is there anything my doctor can prescribe that will make any easier? Oh and I should have mentioned that I have gone down to 40 mgs a day on my own, its hard and some days the pain is so unbearable I have gone up to 60mgs.
