I was wondering if anyone has been having a problem with acne? I had the mirena inserted in May of this year, within two weeks I was having terrible mood swings, I was flying off the handle at the drop of a hat! Crazy! I went to my doctor to have it removed, he talked me into keeping it in a few months see if it changes. My moods are better but my face has become insanely greasy! I wash it twice a day, use face-wipes throughout the day to try to control it, I blot my oil away with the oil absorbing sheets. The problem is I am doing it all the time! I have even resorted to using the tissue paper toilet seat covers to blot my face, they work great in a pinch...but they are becoming part of my daily oil control routine! As an added bonus I now have acne! Never in my life have I had acne, nothing I do helps, I have all the creams and acne treatments, nothing has worked. I am just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem?

I received my first shot on Kenalog three weeks ago, for a bulging disc in L5, and it took me from a 8 out of 10 pain scale, to a 2. After two weeks , I received my second shot, and now I feel about 98% better. As an added bonus, my Psoriasis of 15 years, that no Doctor could seem to control, has all but disappeared! Also a severe pain in my r/foot under 2nd tow area, has completely gone away, after 10 years of misery! I also am seeing my two toenails, and one fingernail restoring themselves to normal again(the nails had fallen off years ago, like a fungus, but it was not fungus). My dermatologist told me it had no cure and that I would have to deal with it! Kenalog benefits have FAR outweighed the negative effects so far... I have lost about 5lbs in 3 weeks, and anxiety is a mild issue, as is mild night sweats, but for me, this is a small price to pay for pain relief that was making my life miserable!

This post is directed to anyone who has contacted me regarding a possible class action lawsuit, which I was trying to initiate, as stated in my Oct 17th, 2008 post.
After contacting as many as 10 law firms, from NY to San Francisco, I have virtually "thrown in the towel". In essence, what they are saying is, this will be too expensive to litigate. The pharmaceutical companies have "teams" of lawyers, and I believe they are reluctant to go up against them.
I find it diabolical that this drug Kenalog is causing so much suffering, some emotional, some esthetic and some, like myself, sheer physical pain...but nothing can be done about it.
For all of you who have emailed me and I was unable to return your ems, I apologize....but I have been waiting to hear something positive feedback to relay. Unfortunately, that was not the case. If anything does develop I have stored your information and will get back to you. I would hope you would do the same.

I have had my Mirena since 2004 and haven't had any major issues... the usual spotting when I first got it, and some spotting and mood changes when I am due for a period (which is typical of PMS). I also do not really get cycles anymore, which I consider an added bonus (my doctor said this might happen because before the IUS my cycles only lasted for two days and were really light). Sometimes I do feel abdominal pain or have a little spotting after intercourse and my honey also complains about feeling the IUS and being poked by it but I dismiss his complaints because he would really complain if he had kid number 5 was on the way. My concerns at this point are will the IUS stop working early it will be 5 years in Feb. but it wasn't like the device was manufactured the day I got it. And, should I get another IUS once I remove this one or is there another birth control that will be better for me.... the Mirena is still somewhat new when compared to other methods of birth control and I don't what to have two over a period of 10 years and then find out in 15 years it was a bad decision.

I am 45 y/o , and have been on the NuvaRing for 6 years and I love it!! Some months I get a little PMSish but I take Pamprin and it really does help. I have been spotting for a week before my period for several months now. ObGyn said it looks like peri-menopause, so I am going to stay on to help me through, plus the added bonus of helping to prevent certain cancers. I am sorry to hear that others have trouble with this type of BC. I tried pills, several different types and ALL made me sick. Tried IUD and I swear I could feel it in me. I just fold the nuvaring up into a little circle, insert and I don't have to think about it for 3 weeks! ..take it out...and a week later put a new one in. I will never use anything else!!

Re: Dosage Confusion- Synthroid

This simple of communicating dosage became confusioning. To prevent confusion synthroid is always discussed in terms of (mcg). That is, micrograms (mcg) vs. milligram (mg).

This is of tremendous value The conversion factor is 1000, for example a dose of Synthroid represented as 0.025mg, would be converted as
.025mg x 1000=25mcg. To fully understand this blogger’s statement feel comfortable to talk with your pharmacist or physician.

Thank goodness I typed in "Dry cough "and "gag." I found this site and now I know WHY I can't seem to get over this "cold."

I've been on lisinopril for about 3.5 weeks and I was beginning to think I had suddenly developed allergies. I get this terrible tickle and I try to fight it, because I know once I start coughing, it will take a while to settle down again. My eyes water, my head throbs, and I reach a point of nearly gagging. In addition, I get to deal with the added pleasures of menopausal stress incontinence. I'm MISERABLE!

I've been needing to schedule an MRA for another non-related issue, and I have been putting it off due to concerns about being in the MRI machine and not being able to catch my breath.

Thanks to all of your input here, I'm calling my doctor tomorrow. Enough is enough!

I'm glad to have found this website posting as tonight I decided it's time to do further research on Singulair and check the issues I'm experiencing. I've decided tonight that I'm going off so I can do some testing and rule out whether they are causing the following side effects for me:

I've been on Singulair for almost 6 months. When I first started, I had a heck of a time getting through the drowsiness but it got easier each day and gradually after a month, I stopped being so "spacey". I started Singulair primarily to address my asthma issues and the tightness in my chest and as an added bonus, it helps my allergies so I went off the Claritin as well. Singulair has done wonders for my asthma and I have rarely had to use my inhaler or have asthma attacks. (I should note, I wanted to eliminate steroids in my life since it causes acne etc. etc.)

Meanwhile, I've noticed changes in myself. I'm more lazy, take naps on the weekends, less hyper (which is a good thing on my stressful job) but I've lost my "edge" where I should be quick on my feet and responses. Recently, I've noticed that I'm slurring my words and having speech problems. I have got lost a couple times in my train of thoughs. I also seem to experience being dyslexia - I frequently type letters and numbers jumbo'd around. Very unlike me!

I also have severe dry mouth almost like an infection. I tend to get itchy around my neck and arms for no reason - almost like a mild form of nerves twitching simulation. I've got more sinus infections but that could also be due to not using Claritin and perhaps, I need to be on it at the same time.

I've cut back to 5mg (I cut my pills in half) for a few months and felt less tired but my speech and other side effects are still present. Heck, it could be a sign of aging or other things occuring but I need to start somewhere. I am sad that it could be Singulair because it's the best drug for my asthma but I have concerns about the other impacts it might have on my health and well being. I'll post updates in a few weeks.

Feel free to email me to talk about anything offline - I'm eager to hear from others!

-S

I was on the NuvaRing for 2.5 years... and am loving life since I have been off of it. Every month I had the same symptom. My intestines burned and felt so raw, as if a wire bristle brush was being used to scrub them out. Every month for about 3-4 days I was out of commission, without fail. I would wake up in the middle of the night sweating, and felt extreme nausea and burning in the intestinal region. It was as if I had a stomach virus every month. I really did not think that the ring could cause the symptoms that I was having. When I researched on the net, I only came across positive testimonials. Well, after last month of faux food poisoning, my husband and I agreed I needed to take the ring out. I have had a full month without the ring and have not had another monthly bout since. I have not read about this symptom from other Nuva users, but maybe this will help any other women out there that are currently going through the same monthly symptoms. Another added bonus to switching methods is the increase of libido. I know that every woman's body is different, however, I myself have tried several birth control methods and didn't think that such a low dose combination (Nuva) could have such a high impacting syptom on my life. If any other questions, I can be reached at ******

I started pak today - already took my 1st 6 pills -it's 8:00 p.m. & usually I'm dragging. But I'll be up & productive until 11:00 tonight, I'm sure.

I've had a dose pak before (not this one) for rhematoid (sp?) swelling of ankles, feet & hands. And believe me, already after one dose, I'm getting relief.

Personally I love this stuff, I can get so much more done - my mind is racing to get everything done. So I'm taking advantage of it.

But bottom line, it has helped alleviate this same condition before & a few other major allegeries I've had. I've taken a dose pak about 5 times in 10 years.

But it apparently affects everyone differently. Me - it's an added bonus - feel peppy & energetic & remove the pain I was in.

This is my first month using Yasmin and at first I experienced a lot of negative side effects that are posted here including: nausea, headache, increased heart rate, and thirsty/dry mouth. Also, I felt completely wired during the night so I couldn't sleep at all and when I finally did it was restless and filled with nightmares. During the day, I was so exhausted I could barely stay awake and I had absolutely no energy. Even worse, I felt seriously depressed and my mood was all over the place. Then I decided to change the time I take the pill from daytime to night time, about an hour before I go to bed. It has made a HUGE difference. Now, I get great night's sleep, and feel normal during the day. What's more, my mood has stablelized and I don't feel depressed and psychotic anymore. My libido is up and generally I'm feeling pretty good! And as an added bonus, my breast size has increased to almost a full cup! (Although they continue to be sore, but not a bad trade off!) If you haven't already, try changing the dose time to night and see if it makes any difference for you as well. It did for me and now I think Yasmin is the wonder pill!

Good luck.
