I was prescribed Lisinopril for pre-hypertension at 10 mg a day. I've only taken it for 2 days and have felt so sluggish and tired but revved up on the inside at the same time. Had a headache too last night and blurry vision. It does work in lowering the BP though. Last night I felt as if I couldn't take deep breaths to relax myself and then I started having shaking chills and tingling in the hands and feet. Thought I was having a panic attack so I took my clonazepam. Then I felt like I'd have to throw up or go to the bathroom to get relief. The clonazepam kicked in after about an hour and knocked me out, but I still woke up a few hours later still feeling extremely anxious even though the clonazepam was still in my system (I take it twice a day for panic attacks) along with Lexapro for depression/generalized anxiety. I'm refusing to take any more of this drug. I will lose weight and exercise and eat healthy just to avoid this drug.

Keep your kids away from this med. After 2 months my 7 year old showed great progress with his (mild) asthma. He was not the same boy though.
"Bad thoughts". Bouts of crying. Irrational fears. Constant "confessions". Obsessions. We were at a loss. Contacted a psychologist because our VERY happy, kind, thoughtful, wonderful boy was gone and in his place was a very sad, fearful, little boy.
We finally realized this started shortly after starting this med and took him off it. Our GP agreed. It took a good 5-6 weeks to bring him back but he's with us again.
The specialist reported 2 other similar cases and advised he will no longer be prescribing this to kids until this is addressed.
If you have a child on it, get them off it. It's all I can advise. Merck was no help when I called them and denied there was a problem. Shame, shame, shame.

My husband was put of Lipitor after having a heart attack in 2002 (heart attack caused by taking VIOXX for arhtritis - that was taken off the market in October 2004). Now after taking Lipitor for almost 3 years, he has Statin-induced Parkinson's Disease (addressed in a German Medical Jouirnal). Was just recently taken off of Parkinson's medication (caused nausea); taken off Lipitor and Niaspan (both for cholestral lowering) because he was losing lots of weight and had no energy. Now I'm wondering if the Parkinson's symptoms (tremors, etc.) are reversible. Whatever my husband was given for illnesses in the past have caused additional and worse illnesses. I wish all cardiologists knew that they ae taking away our quality of life. My husband's tremors keep him from driving and enjoying everyday life.

After reading a number of the letters posted I feel so connected with you all, my heart goes out to you all because I too am on Levoxyl.. I have experienced practically every symptom that I have read and it is not in your head even though the doctors may not know what the problem is they will just treat it with other drugs instead of just changing your medication. I had my thyroids removed 5 years ago and still having problems every time I go to the doctor they are changing my medication. I too have been on different antidepressions and am having problems with my joints and swelling. My sister noticed my skin darkening and I was told that my liver was not good. I know there is so much going on that I still have not addressed but it cause money to go to the doctors and that is a problem but to all of you keep the faith and remember no one knows how you feel but you.

I had a UTI and was given Cipro. I wake up shaking and having chest pain. My elbows hurt and my toes. I had diarrhea and stomach cramps as well as leg cramps. I am almost feeling like I have a panic disorder now, because I am so nervous about nothing. I wake up every night with either the palpitations in my heart. I thought I was having a mitral valve prolapse which I had almost twenty years ago. Now I have developed a spot in my eye like spider webs which now it has turned into a flash of light on the side of my right eye. I believe all this is from the Cipro. I was fine before it.
