here are the symptoms I have
severe bleeding 8 months straight
head aches
increased appetite
weight gain
dizziness
faint
depressed
really moody
mean
angry
tired extremely
cant sleep well
memory loss
memory problems
blurred vision
and recently extremely painful sex
it hurt so bad It was all I could do not to cry
it felt as though I was in labor
I did not have the heart to tell my husband i was in pain cause we rarely have sex due to the constant bleeding
it is the best birth control I have ever heard of cause you cant have sex if your bleeding all the time. I want to remove it but getting a hold of my doctor is like a joke and I don't know what to do cause I need my memory I have a family that needs me as i used to be not the mean upset all the time me.

Ladies,
I hope you don’t mind a male posting on this forum but I do have a reason for doing so. I am a Coroner’s Officer in England. I will not at this time disclose whereexactly I am based as I need to protect the identity of the family. I would however like to use you as a sounding board in the hope that you can help me, help the family and perhaps, just perhaps, I can help you.
Sadly I am dealing with a suicide. The lady in question, who has taken her own life is in her 40’s, married and has children (all over 11 years). The lady has no history what so ever of any form of depression during her life.
The lady has described her life as being perfect with a family that loves her and who she loves in return and as the Investigator I believe she is truthful in that comment. She states she has been extremely happy until last week. She makes comments of - I am just very ill, cannot sleep, feel dizzy, cannot concentrate, sometimes lose my vision, feel sick all the time and sweat at night. She cannot understand, but it makes her feel bad. I am not myself, something has made me ill which means I can’t be my normal positive, active busy self. I can’t bring myself to do anything that I normally love, like gardening, cooking etc. I am losing my memory badly going fuzzy in the head.
Her final comment, which is the one that has prompted me to post on this forum (with the permission of the family) is ‘I just don’t understand this – I’m so sorry . I can’t understand myself or what is wrong with me or what I’m doing so sorry. Just remember I’m not myself somebody else has taken over – I don’t know if it is all the anti-histamine pills that has mixed up my chemical balance along with the Mirena coil or is it just me’.
The mention of the Mirena coil has therefore prompted me to investigate it. I am not, by any means suggesting that this is responsible but it would be wrong of me to discount it after having read the posts on this forum and other places on the Internet.
The lady in question had the coil inserted in 2004/5 and it would appear that there were no problems or side effects reported.
I am therefore looking for some help from you. Some comments on what I have posted etc. Some advice on where to obtain expert advice (although I am trying some avenues of my own).
I may also ask, depending on what help you can give me if you would be willing to identify yourself to me.
Thank you
P.

Debbie 6/8/2009 On Monday, June 3rd I was put on a Dexpak for a Martins' Neuroma on my foot. I felt sooo good for the first three days, then started feeling worse. By Saturday morning, I was having the worst pain in my stomach area. I can't do anything. Even laying down didn't help things. I feel like I have a hole in my stomach that is gnawing at me. It's now been 3 days that this is happening. I'm hungry, but cannot eat because I hurt so bad. Cannot get a hold of the dr. to see what to do next..

I THINK IT IS VERY SAD THAT EVERY TIME SOMEONE GETS UPSET OR MAD THAT THEY THINK PILLS ARE AN ANSWER. I STARTED TAKING GEODON THREE YEARS AGO BECAUSE OF SEVERE ANGER. IF MY DOCTOR WOULD HAVE ACTUALLY PAID ATTENTION TO ME SHE WOULD HAVE REALIZED THE ANGER WAS FROM GETTING DROPPED ON MY HEAD AND YELLED AT FROM MY FIANCE. ONCE I GOT A HOLD OF MYSELF GOT AWAY FROM THE BOYFRIEND AND GOT MY S#*% TOGETHER I SLOWLY AND I STRESS SLOWLY WINGED MYSELF OFF OF THE GEODON. WHEN I GOT DOWN TO 20 MG AT NIGHT I STARTED HAVING CHEST PAIN AND THE PHARMACIST TOLD ME THAT IT ALTERS THE WAY YOUR HEART FUNCTIONS. YES YOU WILL FEEL CRAPPY FOR A LITTLE WHILE BUT THIS DRUG IS SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS. IT IS FAIRLY NEW SO NO ONE ACTUALLY KNOWS WHAT THE LONG TERM EFFECTS ARE BUT IF THEY ARE WORSE THAN THE SHORT TERM(HEART ATTACK AND MUSCLE DISTORTION) THAN THEY NEED TO TAKE IT OFF THE MARKET.

I have been on Yaz for three months, first two were okay, not I totally feel prego, morning sickness, sore breasts, moodiness, weight gain, odd bowels. I tried to talk to my OB Tuesday and she got a page in the middle of my appt. Babies don't wait. She said to keep taking it she'd see me in month. AHHHH I can't do this, I totally broke down to my hubby last night and he said to stop it now. I have two beautiful girls, am 26, and am crazy!
Yaz has made me feel like my gestational diabetes is back, my head hurts often, I am cramping, lower back pain, irritably, want to sleep all the time, am short tempered with my kids....this is nuts!!!! Trying to get ahold of my doctor again, might just go back to my childhood family doctor. Good luck, I was on depo before my second child and had a horrible reaction to it too, even miscarried after I had been off of it for a year and still hadn't had a period. Birthcontrol stinks, I feel like I am poisoning my body, and why, so I don't have another baby. So I am experiancing, nausea, headache, stomach cramps, depression, crazy feelings, irritability, fatigue, sore breasts, decreased sex drive, morning sickness.
Good luck with your decisions.

Hello All;
I have had the birth control from hell since 2005 and have had all of the side effects you girls have listed. I am having mine out this Wed. SURGICALLY! I have had two transvag. echos and the bloody (excuse the term) thing is in place, however three Dr.'s could not find the strings and after much rooting around my new wonderful OG/GYN has scheduled me for surgery to get out the"retained IUD". On the positive side, we did find my lost car keys! Ha! It may have been mentioned in one of the postings, but has any of you had this procedure? AND just recently I got ahold of the Physicians Prescribing Information so now I feel dumb. Has anyone noticed 1) Under Drug-Drug Interactions...the effect has not been tested 2)Carcinogenisis...Long term studies....has not been tested...O.K. I get the feeling as someone mentioned...we are the long term study!....If anyone has had to waddle to the hospital (sorry, I have a few fleeting moments of humor) to have this procedure (gotta love the medical term, right up there with discomfort) can ya let me know what happened?

I have only been on this pill for a week and the side effects have begun to drive me crazy and I mean that literally!! On my way to work this morning I had a panic attack, I've never had anything like that before. I started to cry while eating breakfast and then in return I just became angry. My poor boyfriend has had to deal with me as well.... I'll be so nice to him and then 20 minutes later I'm completely angry about life and him and everything he does! He could do the littlest thing and I'm so upset. My doctor switched me to this from orthotricylin because I have really bad ovarian cysts and she was hoping this would help...obviously not! I went to the health center at work and talked to them about it, and said that there was no way this could be related to Yaz...because Yaz is supposed to be the latest and greatest thing and make it so you have no mood swings...that is completely wrong. I also never had problems with nausea, now every morning it takes me 3 hours to not feel nauseous and to be able to even eat just a piece of toast.
I have been trying to get ahold of my doctor to see if I can stop taking the pill now because I do not think I can go through 2 more weeks of this or I believe I will be single and crazy!
Please if you have stopped taking this pill, how long did it take you to be a normal woman again?

I too had sever, on fire, bouts with Niaspan...also my ears felt like they were going to burst! I finally got a hold of my cardiologist who told me to take an 81mg aspirin 30 minutes before taking the Niaspan (in addition to a low fat snack). This helped a lot!!! The only thing is now my heart feels like it beats oddly, so I stopped taking the Niaspan. I'm trying to figure out if it's the Niaspan or my Gerd flaring up again that's making my heart feel not quite right.

I am a 26yr-old, another victim of Yasmin.
My story's gonna be a bit long, but hope you can bare with it.
Please also forgive me for my incorrect grammer as English is not my mother tongue....but I hope I can get my message across to all of you.
Here it goes!
Ever since I had my first period at a late age of 18 (I was anorexic and severely underweight btw the age of 14-15 when I was supposed to start my mensus had I been healthy,,,,), my mensus had never been regular.
I only had about 3 full-fledged mensus per year, with occational spotting.
Apart from that, I was a happy, bubbly, cheerful lady.
Nevertheless, worried about the side effects of "not shedding", I made my first visit to the gyn.
The Dr. ultrascanned me.
Both my uterus and ovaries were normal in size.
She ran a blood test for my hormones and thryroid level.
They both came out fine.
So then she recommended me to take Yasmin, which will help to regularise my cycle and "shed" all the accumulated lining.
I was quite happy during my first box as I lost my water weight, and my skin cleared.
But then the nighmare began......
Half-way thru my second box, I suddenly became sooooo depressed.
Sure, I did have some ups and downs prior to taking Yasmin, but the ones I'm experiencing while on Yasmin is just beyond anyone's imagination.
Prior to taking Yasmin, I was confident with myself, which I believe made me an attractive person.
HOWEVER, ever since the onset of depression, I seem to have lost all the confidence in me.
All that "self-esteem" I used to possess is now GONE.
I feel so insecure about myself, and don't feel good about myself even when I'm in my favourite outfit.
Before Yasmin, I was so easily "turned-on" !: listening to my favourite tune turned me on, watching drama with my fav actors turned me on, thinking about what to have for dinner turned me on.... just about any thought was enought to mass-produce dopamine in my brain.
But these days, none of these make me happy.
Nothing makes me happy, but anything can make me go DOWN.
I've been off Yasmin for 5 days now.
I do feel slightly better than 5 days ago.
But I'm suffering from elevated heart beat around midnight, which is making me insomniac.
But my biggest concern is ;
WOULD I REGAIN THAT "GLOW" IN ME?
WOULD I REGAIN MY CONFIDENCE?
Also,
Is taking Evening Primrose Oil beneficial to regain my peaceful hormonal level?
Can I start taking EPO directly after stopping Yasmin?
By the way, I notice that I look older (as in aged) ever since taking Yasmin. Does BCP make you age faster? Or am I just imagining things out of depression?
PLEASE HELP....
Thank you for spending your time to read my story,,,,,,

I am a 27 y/o male in good physical condition (i did a triathlon 2 months ago) I was prescribed levaquin 750mg a week ago for an throat infection and fever. After the first dose I had sever abdominal pain (like someone was stabbing me). After the 3rd dose my back started to hurting and my calf's cramped up. I stopped the medication immediately. It has been 5 days since I stopped the medication and I have a burning sensation on my back. It is on both sides and stretches around toward my stomach. It feels like I have bad sunburn but there is no redness, swelling or discoloration. I also still have fever and muscle spasms all over my body (mostly in my legs). I went to my doctor yesterday and he is running a bunch of blood testes and I hope he can find a way to treat the symptoms. Does anyone know how long this should last? I just want it to go away so I can get on with my life. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Fentynal patches (100 mcg) I have found to be an excellent pain control for my condition, and contrary to some poster's remarks, I do not feel the need for increasing amounts due to tolerance. The only problems I have had with them is that first, they fall off the body and I must always secure them with a good tape or a large, hard sticking band-aid. One inadvertently dropped off without my knowledge; my little dog got ahold of it and playing with it and chewing it created a fearful, frightening nightmare. It first caused her to vomit blood all over the house and furniture. She went into a seizure, foamed at the mouth, all the scary things that almost killed her. We called the vet in a panic until I found the raggedy patch with it's outlining paper patch I covered it with.(Thank goodness it was an older, used patch, so she recovered). But little children could also be victims of the same.
The other problem: my doctor warned not to wear to the beach as the release of the active substance doubles and could be very dangerous. I have found that in our hot Florida sun, in shorts, a long walk will give me a horrible, serious rash and hives. I'm not sure how dangerous this side effect is; but I know these patches are great in giving me a fairly pain free existence. So until I am told differently, I shall continue with the pain relieving patch, but be extremely vigilent with my little dog and the loss of patches.

Put on 80 mg a day because of back pain. Did not sleep for 7 days, could not get a hold of a doctor to stop. Finally, got ahold of GP who put me on anti-depressants. This is like throwing gasoline on a fire-did not sleep more than 20 minutes at a time for another 5 days. Now getting back to normal but still have foot and ankle pain. Back feels the same as before I started it. It sounds like reactions are very person and dose specific. DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG IF YOU POSSIBLY AVOID IT-If you start, have 3rd party evaluate side effects. You can not self-diagnose that you are in trouble. It is like you are in a fog and you can not think straight enough to gauge what is happening!

I have been taking Yasmin for 2 months now. and it was prescribed to help me with PMDD and Dysmenorhea, which I guess it has, but at a cost. My period is longer than when I took Loestrin, and I am passing huge clots (Gross I know, I am sorry) but the cramps are better. I can actually go to work the first day. BUT every day I wake up feeling nauseated which lasts until mid afternoon...and the acne. It's all over my chest and face like I was 16 again. I am 24 and getting married in 3 months! My dress is a halter style and I am afraid that if I stay on this pill that my skin will look terrible on my wedding day. It used to be I would break out with a few little pimples around my period..now I clear up around my period because the Yasmin is out of my system. I am trying to get ahold of my gyno to see if there is another pill I can try or at least something to clear me up. As much as I hate being so broken out, Yasmin is better than the 20 pounds I gained with Loestrin and the super huge and tender breasts with extreme sickness I experienced with Orthotricycline.
