Well I was on the Nuvaring for two and a half years. I was taking it purely for the birth control, my periods prior were fine. I had no side effects until about 2 years in. It was December of this year and I started pulling over on the side of the road with horrible panic attacks. I was scared to drive feeling like I was about to pass out. I started going to and acupuncturist in hopes of relieving my anxiety. Right away he said it was my hormones in the birth control, but I didn't want to believe him. About 3 months later I asked my Gyno and she swore that the hormones from the birth control would not cause anxiety. Well slowly it got worse. I was panicking on an airplane- which I had never done before. I had panic attacks in the middle of the day, when I saw the sun set; I was feeling claustrophobic in my own house. I was constantly nervous, and had lost my appetite. So I decided to take out the nuvaring. Within 4 hours I felt better. It has been amazing the change I have felt. I am not 100% feeling better, because I scared myself with bad thoughts while feeling nervous, but I am on my way back to my old self. I caution the use of the Nuvaring, only because it caused me to feel like I was going crazy, and it took years to see those side effects.

I had a terrible cough.Constant and very dry and hacking. Making sleeping impossible. Working impossible. My life was turned to mush. The coughs were very heavy and causing my throat to swell and feel extremely dry no matter how much I drank.I developed acute tonsillitis. I needed antibiotics to clear up.I have a fever and was sicker than I can ever remember.I called the doctor and told her I never had any of the coughing until taking this med.then I read it is common. Why in the ---- would any doctor prescribe such a horrible drug.??
I have never had a heart attack and only had slight blood pressure issues. Sometimes it gets a bit high. Not often. Doctors are drug pushers for the pharma companies.I have no respect left for this doctor. And will never go back.

The Dr. gave me Effexor xr 75mg for my depression and 0.5 mg every 6 hrs of Xanax. Since then he lowered my Effexor xr to 35mg. During that period I gained 20 lbs and now I have excessive sweating constantly at least 5 times a day just as if I was coming out a flu like symptom.

My depression is still there buy not as bad but I started to get worried about what was causing the excessive sweating until I saw this site. I will set and appointment with the doctor tomorrow and see what the next plan of attack will be.

I know I was really bad with panic attacks and depression but know I could like to not take any more medications at all. With the help of God and I will recover from my depression and panic attacks. I had depression, panic attacks rasing heart beats, could not focus, memory loss, constant crying, fear. I when to the ER twice tacking I had a heart attack. All heart exams normal.

Now I have to deal with getting off the pills and live a normal life. How can I do this?

Started out with face tingling about a week taking it primiraly on the right side of my face. About 3 weeks into taking the medication I experienced Experience weakness on left side of body which included unable to lift left arm and left leg, unable to stand by self, involuntary tremors to the hands, fingers, legs and mouth, difficulty speaking, very emotional, very tired. Was hospitalized because emergency room doctor felt that the effects were due to reaction to an MRI dye 6 hours before. Was released next morning with slight improvements in left side of body strength, speech slowness cycled from normal to extremely slow, additionally the involuntary tremors with the hands, fingers, legs and mouth continued as well as the emotions, actions like eating and bathing required a lot concentration and caused extreme tiredness.

Hi. I just wanted to let everyone know what has happened since I stopped taking Yasmin 4 days ago. (I only took it for 2 months.) I'm still having heart palpitations, feeling of a lump in my chest, and still a bit dizzy at times. My ears kind of feel like when I'm on an airplane coming in for a landing when the dizziness comes around. I'm also still having an occasional urge to cough. I still have shortness of breath and it's very noticeable when I'm talking and saying a long sentence. I thought the symptoms would really decrease but it seems to come and go. I feel the palpitations more frequently during the evening hours. I don't know why that is though. All of this makes it really hard to concentrate a work. I was reading one blog that said to take extra magnesium and zinc. Has anyone tried that and is it effective?

I am totally shocked at what I have learned about Lipitor. My physician prescribed 10mg for me over 4 years ago. No major problems until recently. Severe neck/shoulder pain for about 3 months. Dr said it was a pulled muscle. Gave me Skelaxin. No help. Went to Chiropractor--yanked, cracked, beat, etc--no help. In the past 2 weeks or so I have developed pain in my hips, back and legs. Blamed it on being 52 years old. As I read some of the experiences on here I could relate to each one. I also have gained about 30 pounds in the past 4 years, short term memory is terrible. NO ENERGY> 3 years ago-Dr started me on Wellbutrin for depression, then added Zoloft. I am to the point now I want to get off of all this and see how I could really feel. Not sure about withdrawals. Any comments on stopping the meds?

To Sylvia,

yes, while on yasmin I noticed my ears would feel like they would "pop" immedidately after taking the pill in the morning originally-as though you were talking in a bubble. But what was really happening was like what happens when you are descending in an airplane....I've been off for two months but still have pressure in both ears and I too can hear my heart beating in my ears-that I think is normal though unless you may have a more congestion than I have. I have also had colds now for two months since going off of the Yasmin! I am planning on going back to the RN this Wednesday to re-address and ensure that I don't have a greater risk-of health.

This message is for Donna who was looking for positive effects of Xanax. I only take 1 pill (.5 )or half a pill (.25)when needed and don't take another pill that day. It totally calms me down and makes me relax without any weird side effects. If I'm tired, the xanax will make me more tired so don't take it then. Also, don't drink any alcohol when taking xanax. Really use it when needed. I take mine when I'm flying in an airplane, a social function and when the kids are real fired up at home an can't settle down. Oh, don't forget when you have tons of company for the holidays. Xanax is a nice thing to keep on hand if you tend to get anxious from time to time - but don't abuse it. Never take more than one pill a day - and don't take one every day!
