I have lost a significant amount of weight since I began taking Allegra D two years ago. I struggled with my weight since having two children and have found that since i started taking Allegra D I have increased energy and reduced appetite. I take it first thing in the morning with my coffee to jump start my day. I love this medication that not only helps relieve my allergys but helped me loose weigh and have energy while doing it.

I am an individual that started taking Singulair about a year ago. I've had allergies to weeds, grasses, and pollens since I was a little girl and have taken a variety of meds including Claritin, Zyrtec, Allegra, Flonase, and allergy shots. Last summer, my usual Claritin just wasn't enough so my doc prescribed Singulair. It worked wonders for my allergies. Soon after, I began to feel "numb" -- that's the best word to describe what I felt. I was depressed. It just so happened that my mother had had surgery and I had moved to a different city about the same time as beginning the Singulair. When I began feeling depressed and disconnected from the world, my doc and I contributed it to depression from life transitions. It didn't go away though. For a year, I isolated myself. I didn't talk to friends and family. I missed over 10 days of work just because I didn't want to get out of bed. I slept almost 15 hours a day, gained 60 lbs, didn't clean my house. I didn't really do anything and I didn't care. I felt so disconnected from the world. I didn't cry. I didn't feel suicidal, but I knew that something was wrong with me. I thought I was having a breakdown or something. My doc checked several things but all test results were normal. It wasn't until my mother seen a CNN report on Singulair that I began to link my depression to when I started the drug. I immediately quit taking Singulair and felt better within 4-5 days. After 2 1/2 weeks, I was back to being my old self. It was so scary feeling so isolated, numb, and disconnected from the world. I never would've thought about it being a side effect from an allergy medicine.

I have been on singulair for over 4 years with no side effects. Nothing but asthma that's totally under control. My 12 year old son has been on it on & off, when his allergys act up. He's been on 5mg a day regular for a couple of months straight. Last month I noticed my left eye was twitching often. Then about 2 weeks ago it went into a little spasm and was going on for about 80% of the day. It got so irritating I finally went to my interest, who gave me a muscle relaxer and said it would probably go away soon. A few nights ago my son showed me a twitch he had in his arm. It twitched all night. The only thing we have in common that I can think of is the Singulair. Wondering if it could be a side effect...?

My 13 year old was put on Singulair 1 year ago for asthma/allergys and it has helped tremendously with those symptoms. However, with the start of school several teachers have mentioned that he is often spacey, seems disinterested, non-responsive. He has also been extremely moody these past 6 months, angry alot, irritable, always tired. Since reading this site I took him off of the Singulair 3 days ago and his allergies have been horrific. I also started him on the Quercetin. Am wondering how long I should give the Quercetin to take affect? Anyone had experience with this? Also, should I stop the Singulair all at once or take him off slowly??

I have severe Eczema and allergys, taking prednisone was exactly the releaf I needed, For two months I was free of any ailments. Soon after stopping use all my problems returned ten-fold! I felt like some cruel joke had been played on me, Allowing me to feel what its like to feel normal...then taking it away. The only side affect I expierienced was water retention and very dry mouth, is there a safe dose for long term use? or is any dose harmfull?
