Im on it right now, have been for about 2 years.. I haven't had any bad side effects, My boobs do get a bit bigger around the 3rd patch change but can you really complain about that.. And ive had a slight decline of my sex drive but nothing too horrific. Although i get emotional a lot easier, not crazy though.. More like the cry during those pathetic hallmark commercials, Nothing Major though.The only thing i don't like is the black film it leaves behind when you change it, but for all the good, the small bad is something i can defiantly deal with.
I recommend this 100%, but you should always research your BC before you start it, compare all the good with the bad, from ALL sources. Read actual Peoples side effects not just the company and form your own opinion. The best thing you can do for yourself is to be aware.

I have been taking BCP since I was 18. I started w/ Aleese, Yasmin, Orthotrycyclin-Lo, Ortho Evra and the last being Loestrin24Fe. The sad part is that I can't remember what/if any side effects I had while taking those prior to Loestrin24Fe. Unfortunately for me, I have managed to gain 30lbs in the last 5yrs and I cannot seem to get rid of it. Of course the gyno said it wouldn't have been the BCP, but I would like to believe I didn't make myself a fat ass. I was taking Loestrin24Fe for 2 years and can't say I noticed too big of a change while taking it other than the periods being shorter, but they were still very heavy. But my acne has started to get worse the past year. In May I went to the doctor for my migraine's and skin/hair (too oily). After running blood tests it showed my thyroid was pretty low and had room for improvement. I was prescribed Maxalt for my migraine's and 30mg of Armour (thyroid medicine). I went back at the end of June and we upped the Armour to 60mg because I haven't noticed a difference since taking it. She also suggested I switch my BCP to Yasmin as it's been known to help with acne problems. Today was my 2nd day on Yasmin....and obviously it's too soon to notice if/what side effects will bother me. I just wonder if maybe I should take a break from BCP all together and allow my body a chance to breathe. I really hate the thought of having that longer period again but I'm going to have it with Yasmin anyway unless I choose to start a new pack early every month (to keep same schedule as Loestrin24Fe). Advice would be helpful :)

I was on Nuvaring from 2002 until 2006, in that time I started having horrible migraines, I had never had a migraine previously. My migraines by June of 2005 were daily..... I was taking Topamax 400mg, Neurontin 2400mg, Altace 2.5mg and Celexa 40mg all daily. Along with Maxalt, Phenergan and Vicodin. I had 3 bottles of botox shot into my head to stop the pain. I went to 3 Neurologists, none of which had any explanation. I was sent a letter telling me that the Nuvaring would not prevent pregnancy with Topamax. I quit using the Nuvaring and within 48hrs my daily migraine went away. I now only take one daily med and will have a migraine during ovulation/period. All of this can be supported by my medical records. I had to go on disability for a short time due to them.

I was just wondering what everyone's symptoms are with the anixiety. For me, I seem to have this backward personality now. I used to be more outgoing and social and now I just want to crawl into a hole. Is this anxiety? I do not handle stress very well either - it seems I get stressed and uptight about the littlest things...
I have only been off Yasmin for4 days now and do not feel bloating yet. How long before I should?
My weight gain happened while I was on the pill - about 20 pounds. I was hoping to lose this after stopping Yasmin but if other women are gaining - then I am sure I will have the same side effect.
Thanks to all the women who respond and give their experiences. It really helps me out.

I am new to this site and thank God I found it. Now I don't feel like I am alone anymore. I have been taking Yasmin for 2 1/2 years now and dealing with this "new self". I stopped taking Yasmin 2 days ago (before I found this site) and last night I woke up to a pool of blood in my bed. I stopped taking Yasim in the middle of the pack because I was having severe headaches and had practically ruled out everything except my birth control. So, once I saw the blood, I was scared - but I assumed it was my 2nd period since I stopped in the middle of the pack. Did anyone have this happen to them when they stopped Yasmin???
My side effects have pretty much been the same as everyone else's - severe headaches, depression, not feeling like I am worth very much, I haven't been able to keep focused, very low sex drive, bitchy, bitchy, bitchy - and I could go on. It has been a terrible 2 1/2 years and I can't believe it has taken me this long to figure out what was wrong with me. I am dumbfounded... But I am finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel - as long as these symptoms go away.
Has there not been any lawsuits or action with Yasmin to make other women aware of what this can do to them? I am willing to make an effort if someone could lead me in the right direction. Yasmin is scary and has terrible side effects. No one should have to go through what we all have been through.

It was so weird!! I have coughing, loss of appetite, it was really weird on my hands like they were hot but it was like a tingling feeling and now it hurts the upper part of my arms. I have dizziness, and headachnes in the morning but then it goes away by mid afteroon. WHAT THE HECK!!! I HATE THESE STUPID PILLS I rather have acne instead!!!

My mother was on Zocor for about a year, she was experiencing a lot of muscle pain and blurry vision. Her doctor thought it might be the Zocor and suggested she get off of it. She has been off of it for about 1 1/2 months and the muscle pain is increasing. The pain is unbearable at times, described as a charlie horse that lasts up to 5 minutes at a time. Has anyone found any relief in anything? I've never seen my mother in so much pain. Please e-mail me if anyone has any suggestions. amanda.bitton@xo.com
