I was put oon Omeprazole almost 3 weeks ago and i have found it to be a great medication. My doc thinks i have gall bladder problems and gave me these to try, i take 20mg every morning and it has controlled the pain in my stomach with brilliant ease. I also have Fibromyalgia Syndrome and take 150mg Tramadol SR, 100mg Pregabalin, 50mg Amitriptyline, 500mg Naproxen, i have not had any bad reaction's to this medication. The only problem i have found so far is that my period seemes to have stopped, this is not concerning me much as i have been sterilized, 2 1/2 years ago, i have a partner so i have figured that if i was going to fall pregnant it would have happened before now! As far as i can see, everyone has a different opinion to different drugs, and this site seems to be full of opinions that hate this drug, it's not so bad, not every pill made is perfect for everyone but sometimes, it can be the right one for one person, me, it has stopped my extremely painful periods and it has gotten rid of my gall bladder problems, i would not stop taking this drug, even if it doesn't suit everyone, L.

I'm 25 and diagnosed with IC when I was 23. I'm taking elmiron 100mg/3 times daily. I have to down ibuprofen quite often for side effects from IC. It doesn't seem to go away. I'm taking amitriptyline(using for muscle relaxer) 25mg/twice daily for spasms. That seems to help quite a bit but just for spasms. My doc told me I was having issues because the acid(from food or drinks) in the bladder was bringing the IC back. So, I started taking Prelief which is suppose to remove the acid from whatever eating or drinking. But, unfortunately it seems to work with everyone else but me. So, I'm completely lost and my doctors don't seem to think I have enough issues to worry about. I've tried going to other doctors and they either don't deal w/ IC at all or they still aren't accepting new patients. Or my doctor wants me to keep coming in twice a month to give more money when absolutely nothing has changed. What to do?

I was on topamax for about 2 years. I took it for frequent migraines caused by my sinus's. I had all the normal side affects but got used to it after awhile. The only one i didn't get used to was the hair loss. During this time I started allergy injections and now i'm up to my maintenance level. So i decided to ween myself slowly off the topamax. I have been off for about 2 months now and I have been fine on the headache side, but i have started to get other symptoms (i think withdrawal symptoms). They have progressively gotten higher in number as the days go by. First my hair loss has not stopped. I gained about 10-15lbs, I am edgy and climbing the walls all day. I have a really hard time relaxing. I recently developed horrible insomnia, and about a week ago i started having digestive problems including water retention, bloating, gas, irregular bowl movements, and acid reflux. And I've recently had bouts of tightness in my chest and throat which make it difficult to breath (lasts about an hour). I didn't have any of these symptoms while i was on the topamax (except the hair loss), nor did I have them before it.
I am seeing an endocrinologist in a few weeks to make sure nothing on that front is causing any of this, but i really feel it's from taking and going off the topamax. If you can find other ways to deal with your migraines, DO!

After my father died in mid-Oct.I had lost alot of weight due to my depression. My doctor immediately put me on amitriptyline. At first I didn't notice any side effects other than it got me to sleep at night.Of course I wasn't really noticing much of anything but then-all I did was sleep. I felt like my whole world was over-I thought I would die without my father...but I never did and that scared me more than actually dying, living in a world where there was no one to take care of me or love me like my father did-He was always my KNight in Shinning ARMOUR...My doc. kept increasing my dose upto 100mg and then one dayI just got up out of my bed and renewed my nursing license and went back to work after eight years of just being a mom and a college student. It wasscary but very exciting but I wouldn't have been able to without the help of the med. My mood was cheerful-my children even noticed a huge difference in my happy appearance it was great stuff......until I noticed that I had gained almost 45lbs. from Oct.to the end of Dec. And another 20 by Jan. I GOT FAT FAST!! The worst side effect of the med for me was that it made me crave chocolate and lots of it! I would wake up in the middle of the night and go bake chocolate cookies and then eat the whole batch all myself. My doc says that the tiny little pill couldn't be responsible for gaining 65lbs in three months. BUt he obvious ly hadn't done his research because I have since talk to many people who experienced the chocolate craving and still others who have also gained ALOT of weight. So if you want to be undepressed -it should do the job that is unless being rather over weight tends to make you depressed. LOL Can't win for loosing huh?

A little over a year ago, I had muratic acid pured on both of my bare feet, causing 2nd and 3rd dagree burns over 75% of my feet. This has caused irreverseable nerve damage, and poor blood circulation, and keeps me in pain 24/7. My doctor prescribed 25mg Amitriptyline, and said it would help with both the pain, and the sleep. Before that they had me on Neurontin, Hydrocodone, and Ultram (which does nothing for any type of pain, regardless of how minor). As far as the pain goes, it does help a little, but as for the sleep, it does not make me sleepy what so ever. Instead, it makes me feel wired out, like I got to be constantly doing something or I will go crazy, which is hard to do when standing and walking are both very painful. Has anyone else had this side effect from Amitriptyline?

I have been taking Toprol 100mg for 3 months now for tachicadria. I am also taking 50 mg of Elavil(Amitriptyline) for cronic pain. Between the two, I think I have had every thing listed here. The bigist thing i have noticed is Tiredness, Weight gain, Lethargic and depression. I take the medications at night 2 hours befor bed. Some times i just cant waik up. I have tried all different times to take the meds and have found this time to be the best. I will keep taking the meds until something comes along that works better.

I have been on 10 mg. Amitriptyline for almost 2 years for headaches. I've gained 28 pounds and counting. I just can't loose the extra weight while on the medication. I've tryed everything from Weight Watchers to Adkins without success. Has anyone else had simular problems with low doses?

my husband is taking 100mg. for( neuropathy) that is the diagnosis he was given. I'm not quite sure it's correct and i noticed that he seems to be very tired after taking this medication- he takes it at 6:00pm
He is also taking neurotin and other medication which supposedly does not interfere with the amitriptyline. he seems very low key, which isn't really his personality. thank you

I am 74 years old and have been taking 50 mg dose of Amitriptyline for 12 years and I take it two hours before bedtime.
Recently it has been causing sleep apnea. I am now taking 25 mgs, two hours before bedtime at 8pm and need to know what time should I take the second dose in the am? I took it this morning around 9am and was sleepy most of the morning. I am guessing this has to do with how long between the dose the night before and the am dose was taking.
How long between these 25 mg doses should I take them.
Thanks Much. D.
