The first time I was given Amoxil was when I was 17 and nothing else would stop me from throwing up. Within a matter of hours after taking ONE tablet I stopped throwing up but became extremely agitated, had trouble breathing, couldn't sit still and this seemed to worsen as it became night time as I'd be lucky to get 2 hrs sleep across 3 nights. I'm now 23 and I fell ill again recently and was again prescribed amoxil-thinking it may not happen again i took it and once again was had insomnia for at least 3-4 days and felt very unstable. At night i will shake for hours. The worst side effect for me by far is the mental state that i go through. My doctor didn't seem to understand how only taking one tablet of amoxil could affect me so severely for such a period of time. After searching for side effects im relieved to know I'm not the only one.

I took amoxil 2 weeks ago for sinus and the third night I was vomiting, the runs, bad aches and pains all over. I was so sick I actually thought I caught food poisoning. I started the amoxil again three days ago and today have had bad ached and pains all over my body like flew symptoms so now I have worked out that it must not agree with me. I have stopped taking them tonight as I don't want to vomit again. These surely can't be good for you. I will not take them again and will mention this to my doctor so he can note this down so I am not prescribed them again.

I felt like i was going to die! I paced back and forth like a restless tiger in a cage, nervous, panicky, jittery, and restless. I felt like I was choking on flem and I was ready to go to the hospital! As for sleep ...good luck with that. I finally fell asleep at 3:30 AM and was up by 6:30 AM! This has been going on for two days now. I called my Doctor and he said that he has prescribed this medication to thousands of patients and never has heard of a reaction like this. My doctor told me to stay off of the meds for two days to see how I feel. I'm afraid to take these meds or anything else again.

My six year old has a severe case of bronchitis. The dr put her on omnicef. She'd never taken it before. By the third day, she had severe diarrhea, headaches, severe mood swings (comparable to bi-polar highs and lows), sore muscles and joints, vomitting and very loud stomach issues. After that third dose I decided not to give her anymore after reading the severe side affects from this site. The morning after she missed the 4th dose, her fever was gone! I can tell that the medication is still in her system as she has not returned to normal yet. The dr called in amoxil for her and she's never had any reactions to it. I will never give her Omnicef again! What a horrible thing to give to children! Is the drug company paying out $$ for them to push this drug?

I was not happy when I was prescribed the Sulfameth. I get sinus infections often, and am usually prescribed Amoxil, but I had a different doctor. The first three days I didn't notice anything, not even a change in my symptoms. The third day I woke up with pain in my left wrist. As the day progressed my right wrist started hurting too. Neither pains did I attribute to the Sulfameth. That night I couldn't get cool, but the weather was very warm, I just it was the weather. The fourth day I had body aches all over and my sinus infection felt worse, my glands were swollen, and I had a fever over 101 degrees. (I never have fever.) This is the fifth day, I can barely walk across my apartment without breaking a sweat, my hands feel like every bone in them is broken. I decided to look up the side effects after a phone call to my pharmacist didn't give me any answers. It is so good to find out I am not alone.

keflex is terrible. took 500g 3x a day but only lasted two days instead of a week (and using the repeat i was prescribed) for my throat infection. it basically knocked me out for the two days i was on it, also experienced extreme nausea and some lower back pain...have now switched to amoxil after talking to my doctor and am feeling much better....won't be taking keflex again. i wonder if there are people who have taken it without any side effects.....
