Well....an update on my update. Legs aching again. I thought the symptoms were gone. Apparently not. Leg pain and nausea. I am just hoping against hope (and praying!) that these are not permanent. I've been off the Levaquin for 2 weeks+ now after being on it for 12 days. This drug is a nightmare.

I have had four uniary-track infections from Jan. 07 until Aug. 07. I have runny nose, allegery type sympons. lost taste/smell senses, burning/numbnes/tingling hands feet,muscle/joint pain feet, knees, hips, back, shoulders, upper arms, hands, dry mouth, dry eyes, vision problems/blurred/double vision and times cannot read news print, increased heart pallpation, insomina, headache. had to cancel last infusion due to unary-track infection and while on antibotic. In the past two weeks, i have noticed decrease in most of the above sympons, except burning/numbnes/tingling in feet, and swelling in feed and hands has disappeared. I was due for infusion today, I told Dr. of disappearing sympons, he delayed another two weeks. I also have been diagnoised with chrons disease. I want to continue to see how I feel in next two weeks, before scheduled infusion, other headache, nausea, stomach abd. pains.

I too have been taking Aciphex for acid reflux for about three weeks and although it seems to have helped with the burning and nausea, I have just recently (four days ago) been experiencing a slew of symptoms. They include headache, blurred vision in my left eye, facial numbness, both forearms numbness, leg (knee down) numbness, and tingling sensation in head. I went to the ER yesterday due to the left arm and left side facial numbness. They ruled out heart attack, blod clot, stroke, bleeding in brain, and brain tumor via a CT scan and a host of other neurological examinations. Doctors have suggested an MRI to rule out something else neurological (MS, neurofibromatosis, etc.) that a CT scan might not pick up. Also, will do a neck MRI to rule out a bulging disc or pinched nerve. I am hoping that it is just the Aciphex.

I am so lightheaded after taking this medicine, I feel ok before I take it but it all hits me at once after I have taken it. I have only been on Levaquin 4 days is this normal?

Hi, my name is Pete I also was prescribed LEVAQUIN 750 mg on 2/5/07 I only took one pill . I stop taking it for it made me hallucinate & confused. I went back to my DR I told him about the side affects that I had encountered but he said that it should have not done this ; but of course the dr's do not have any clue of what this is doing to people this is why we need to post this information so that no one else will go thru what everyone that has taken this antibotic ( evil pill ). I have been off of it for 26 days & still get some anxiety attacks. I do say get your family & friends to support you during this painful time. My wife was told by a nurse that it would take 21 days for it to flush out of my system but I am still on other antibiotics. me and my family pray for each person who taken this ugly medicine.KEEP YOUR FAITH AND HOPE IN GOD!

I was prescribed Omnicef for Strep thorat. I am 41 year old female. As a result of taking this antibiotic, I developed a little known toxin called Clostridium difficile. A infection of the colon. Three different doctors told me that this was a result of taking this antibotic. Some antibotics can produce the same infection. I have never had this before from any other antibiotic.

I'm 27 yrs old, fairly healthy female and just was given Levaquin on Monday, Sept. 18th for an upper respiratory infection. I was given a 5 day regimen of 750mg pills. I took the first pill Monday night between 7-8pm. By 9-10pm I was very ill, my whole body was in pain, I had nausea and started vomiting like crazy. I ended up having to go to the ER that night. I was told at the ER that I had a bad virus in addition to the upper respiratory infection and was told to keep taking the Levaquin. The next day I went home and slowly started to feel better - so by late evening I'm thinking this Levaquin must really be working, so I took the second pill at about 8pm. I will sum up all the symptoms I had starting at about 10pm that night...nausea, horrible insomnia -- every time I would try to drift off to sleep my body would "jump" out of sleep. My mind started racing thinking about a million different things, I started hearing cracking noises, my knees became very weak, I got so hot that I had to turn the AC down to 60. My legs and feet started tingling...you name it, it was happening. I thought I was going crazy. So at 4am I decided to go online and look up the side effects of this medicine -- I was shocked/relieved when I found this website. I was shocked that so many others have had negative experiences with Levaquin -- many worst than mine but I was also relieved to see that Iwas not just imagining all this. I only took 2 pills of Levaquin and it had this effect on me --- right now my right knee is so sore that is hurts to walk up and down stairs. I believe it was the Levaquin and not a virus that sent me to the ER Monday night! I have contacted my Doctor but all she said is yes, this is what could happen and offered me another antibotic --- I'm not trusting any prescription medicine at this time! Good Luck to all and I will file a complaint about this pill as all you should, so that it can be taken off the market!

I told my hsband that I did not like what this was doing to me and could not figure it out what was going on . Second day with much dred I took second dose around one and same syptoms as the first day but heart beat stronger tonight thank god I looked this stuff up and then saw this site I will not be taking anymore needles to say. What is odd about this is I was sent to the Emergency room for severe Chest pain and found not to be having a heart attack but that my white cell count was off and I had just came of antibotic a couple of weeks ago so they were having me take this . From what I have read this is doing worse than good I am only 40 years old

27 yo male. Never take any drugs if I can help it. I was perscribed doxy for a bacterial infection. 2 days into it all my symptoms are gone and I'm still taking it like you're supposed to with antibotics.
Tonight at school, all of a sudden the room starts spinning. My heart starts beating wildly and I'm feeling nasueaous. I was scared half to death. I excused myself from class and called the doc who said that this is typical of this antibotic and to stop taking it. We'll I'm home now and still feeling very woozy. Other sypmtoms are: hot flash in back of neck, teeth clenching, rush of nasuea, then feeling of being tired. This is all similar to "rolling" on X, but without the good feelings.
Also, for those of you with stomach probs, the paperwork that comes with the drug says you should not lay down for 30 mins after taking because of the erosion of the esophagous.

I begun taking Lisinopril about 2 months ago. Was lightheaded at first for about 2 or 3 weeks but that side effect seemed to disappear. My blood pressure has never been better (from 170/105 to 98/65) but just as soon as my lightheadedness went away, I started developing a dry cough. I didn't think much of it at first as I have summer allergies and my husband had just gotten over a cold with a bad cough that lasted almost 4 weeks. I just figured I had caught his cold. But after 4 weeks passed and my cough just kept getting worse instead of better. Just like everyone else on this site, I have a horrible persistent cough that brings me to the point of tears and dry heaves many times during the day and night. I haven't had a good night sleep in I don't know how long and my poor husband suffers right along with me too.
I finally went to the doctor 2 weeks ago and was prescribed an antibotic for what she described as sinusitis. Well, after finishing my 2 weeks supply of antiboitic and Mucinex, my cough is worse than ever. Since my husband and ex-husband are both smokers, I started fearing the thought of lung cancer until I found this site. I was so relieved to find out that what I'm experiencing is like a carbon-copy of so many other unfortunate people on this drug. I called my doctor today and told her the antibiotics did nothing and that I was sure it was the Lisinopril. She advised me to stop taking it immediately and monitor my cough for 2 weeks and then go in to see her. I was relieved but also scared after reading other people who have been off this drug for up to a year and still have a horrible cough. I don't know what I'll do if this doesn't go away! It's having a terrible affect on my sleep and my job as I'm constantly having to put customers on hold while I hack my brains out.
I'll post any updates on my hopeful improvement after going off this horrible stuff!! Good luck and thanks very much to everyone out there who has shared their experiences! It really helps to know that it's not just you who is going through this misery!

For me, Guaifen's side effect was that I could not sleep. I took it along with an antibotic for a horrible cold I had. When I took it during the day time, I experienced a very dry cotton mouth.

I took (1) Levaquin (500mg) tab for a severe kidney infection at about 7:00 at night, at about 8:00 I started to have terrible, horrible pains near my vaginal area and my anal area. To describe the pain it felt like i was in active labor. The pains came like spazums and lasted for about 2-5 mins localized in that area. Also at 8:00 this morning i felt like i was in an all day workout and/or hung-over. I will not be taking another pill and will call my doctor to be prescribed another antibotic. I am so glad that i am not the only person with these side effects, at least i know that it not just a one person thing.

My baby is 3. She had strep throat from Jan to April. I'm talking off the antibotic for max 4 days and the fever would return along with swollen glands, difficulty swallowing and just plain miserable. Took me 2 ENT referrals for someone to finally agree with me that this is not normal and something needs to be done. We scheduled a T & A for April 18th. The surgeon told me that she had a severe sinus infection as well (surgery day). He recommended that we start Singulair 4mg at night along with Nasonex to possibly help with her constant sinus congestion. I gave it to her and noticed nearly an immediate a change in her disposition.(looking back now) At the time I simply chalked it up to having her tonsils out. She was on the medication until Friday May 9th. Her babysitter said that she was seeing what I was at home...only I hadn't shared my dgtrs behavior at home with her...call it guilt for being a single mom who works...I just thought she was having trouble adjusting from a week at home with mom from the surgery recovery to getting back into the "norm" routine. At home she would cry at the drop of a hat. Not just wimper or whine....but tears and screams for nearly an hour. I would ask her why she was crying and she'd simply reply "I don't know Mommy." One minute we'd be playing and she's be laughing and the next she was angry and anxious. She would complain of "tingles in her feet"...I thought she had just been sitting on her legs and her foot had fallen asleep. She would deliberately instigate her older sister...totally not her. She became fearful of her room at nighttime...and took for ever to get to sleep. A co worker had mentioned that a little boy she worked with had his medicine changed b/c the dr said one of his meds may contribute to his behavior issues. Being a nurse I asked what med...SINGULAIR. I immediately went to the web and googled singulair. I found this site...and began to read parents horror stories of their experiences. She has not had another singulair nor will any of my children - EVER. I feel guilty that I didn't take the time to research it before I put her on it. I feel blessed that I was in the right place at the right time to find out about this site. I thought that my kind and sweet little girl had turned into. I know it's only 5 days off the med but she's back to her sweet self about 75%. I am blessed that my experience was not even a month long...but losing your child to a medication that no one warns you about even for a day is WRONG. I think I would be more "forgiving" if anyone along the line of me picking up the med had said ANYTHING...but no one said a thing. My prayers are with those who were not as lucky as I was to stop this med so quickly. I hope your children return to their pre singluair selfs quickly and permanently.
