Anxiety sleeplessness symptoms and conditions

I've been hearing my wife make comments about having a lot of these symptoms these last 5-6 months after having it put in last November. Both of us had discussed her new gradually acquired symptoms as needing to change our eating habits and start living healthier. Dropped the coffee and alcohol, Increased the vitamins.....all to no avail. It went from there straight to marriage counseling and me thinking that I married a freaking lunatic. She gained no weight but rather became more aggressive and snappy over nothing and everything. Emotional up swings with the seldom down. Anxiety, sleeplessness, nausea, periodic 'fluttering' feeling in her uterus and for the first time in 4 years I heard her complain of severe cramping to the point I became very concerned medically speaking. Whelp, we got into it this morning over absolutely nothing and again ten minutes later she found herself emotional, crying and apologetic. That was when she knew something wasn't right and luckily thought to check for possible side effects her birth control. (Mirena) This CRAP is coming out tomorrow! What a freaking NIGHTMARE for not only the love of my life but for me! These side effects are REAL and should be dealt with with REAL concern. I just had a baby about 8 weeks ago and started nuvaring and have only been on it for 2 days and i am already feeling nausea, headaches and severe cramps. i took it out and felt a relief of pressure immediately. i don't know if it is just because i just had a baby but it was not fun and i don't think i will use it again, it is not worth the effects you get from it.

I had the Mirena put in July 3rd 08 at my 6 week check up after I had my second child. I did not have much pain during insertion. However now (about a year later) is a different story. I am glad that I found this page, and I am not alone. I have the common side effects that others list on here like weight gain, mood swings, irregular periods that are different consistency (clots, stringing, heavy flow, light flow), extreme fatigue but unable to sleep, lack of interest in normal activities, and breast tenderness. I know I expected the mood swings, weight gain (but did not think it would be the 18lbs i gained while i was eating healthy and working out) and cramping for a few months after insertion. However the past 2 months I have had a lot of pain in my pelvis. Cramping is not the right word for it, it feels like pressure on my pelvis. Like someone is standing on what feels like my ovary. This is also with the occasional flutter in my stomach that feels like a baby kicking. I have gotten what I believe is my period and took a pregnancy test that was negative. The pain is mainly on the right side which goes around to my hip and sometimes up to my shoulder. It has now turned into a stabbing pain in my lower middle abdomen (this is all with no other bleeding other than my 3 day period). I am calling to doctor tomorrow to get myself checked out. I feel the strings in the same place I always have but the pain is something I can no longer take. I am not sure that this is worth it anymore, I think its time to talk to the husband about a vasectomy!

I went on the ring a couple of years ago.I never had a problem with feeling it inside me or falling out. My boyfriend cant detect it either. It is convenient and easy to use. Around the same time of starting the Ring, I felt like I was starting to lose myself and sense of personality. I have experiences almost all of the above symptoms: major depression, acute anxiety, sleeplessness, weight gain, acne, fatigue, loss of sex drive, and now I'm learning that NuvaRing is linked to 12 deaths. Blood clots. Scary stuff. I am getting off this thing strait away and hopefully I can rediscover myself and my health. I guess I'm lucky my boyfriend stuck with me thru this. It can only get better from here....

Extreme anxiety, sleeplessness, depression. I have the same reactions from Levaquin

I was prescribed levothyroxine by my nurse practitioner for a "slightly" underactive thyroid. I have experienced at times, headaches (feeling like the top of my head is going to blow off); stomach problems, cramping, loose stools; anxiety, sleeplessness, fatigue and a lowered libido. I am prescribed .50 mcg, but I took that dose for 2 months and then lowered my daily dose, myself to .25 mcg. I felt better, but still tired. I didn't tell my NP that I lowered my dose. After a month or so, I upped it again, just because I still felt tired. I have been on the full dose, once again, for a month. I still have some of the previous symptoms, but am due for a blood test this month to see where my levels are at. If they are close to being correct, I am going to ask her to lower my dose or stop it all together and try exercising more. I don't know that this is a horrible drug, but I am sure that it is not something to mess around with, if you don't absolutely need to be taking it.

Hands easily bruised. Bleeding in left foot in front of big toe. I did not hurt myself nor did anything drop on my foot. Z-pac has brought me nothing but anxiety, sleeplessness, severe headaches. Any advice besides going back to doctor?

It is amazing how many people have experienced tightness in the chest, anxiety, and mood swings with this drug. None of this was mentioned by my doctor when he prescribed doxycyline for my adult acne. And I asked him about all of the side effects, as I was very wary about taking the drug to begin with. Until reading this forum, I thought I was going a little crazy. A generally happy, worry-free person, I experienced anxiety, sleeplessness, tightness in the chest, and trouble breathing. I recently quit taking this medication because I believe it was causing my skin to itch like mad. I already feel better mentally and physically. I will look for another solution for my acne and never again take doxycyline. It is very bad.
