I am 29 years old and I have been using NR for almost a year already. although I got through mood swings all the time, now that I think back over the last year or so, I have been acting especially crazy. I am never calm, irritated by everything and everyone, break up with my boyfriend at least 1ce a week, cry a few times a week. Only after reading these posts did I start realizing that maybe its due to NR? I started taking Valerian pills to calm me down, but I became emotionless. I cant be happy for anyone, want to be alone, and not go out. I thought this was all due to stress at work, but now I'm beginning to think otherwise. I took out the ring for good about 3 weeks ago and as soon as few days later have noticed that my breasts are VERY tender, so tender that it hurts to wear a bra. My nipples are HUGE and hurt so bad, this got me scared -thinking that I may be pregnant, but I have been very careful after taking out the ring. Has anyone else noticed this after removing the ring for good?

I was on Lipitor for 2 months and had to stop taking them. I was getting several side effects, but the absolute worse for me has been the burning hot itching skin all over - particularly head, legs and arms. When I scratched - even lightly - my skin comes up in welts that sometimes bled. I also have burning in my eyes and my ears - particularly bad in my ears accompanied by a painful throbbing sensation.

I stopped taking Lipitor almost 3 months ago now and although the effects have eased a bit they are still there particularly on my head, right arm, and lower legs. I can't even shower and dried off with a towel Ibut 'm left with red welt type marks that are extremely itchy and burn at the same time. If I put a towel on my head to dry my hair my scalp and face feel like I've got severe sun burnt. I'm hoping these side effects will eventually go away.

I'm going to go back to my Doctor in 4 days time and I'm dreading it - he's not the open minded type. When I complained about the side effects first he was very dismissive but then agreed to lower my Lipitor dose from 10mg to 5mg and told me not to start taking them again until the symptoms went away. He also told me that he had never heard of anyone having adverse effects from Lipitor!

Has anyone else noticed that in most experiences here the side effect seem to get really bad after the Lipitor starts to lower the bad chlosterol. I started to experience side efects very soon after starating Lipitor but that coincided with my bad chlosterol levels dropping like a rock from a very high rating to normal within the first month.

Please tell me if this burning itching side effect will eventually stop on its own or is there anything i can do to speed up the process.

I have been taking 300mg for 4 years. The first negative side effect was I passed out. The doctor reduced it to 225mg a day. I also take imdur, norvasc, lasex, altace and quite a few more. I am only 38 and I am surprised I don't have any more side effects. Oh I have experienced weight gain. Has anyone else noticed that? If curious I take all these meds for Hcm with ventricular tachycardia. Had an ICD put in in 2003. Man now that I type this all out sounds like I am in really bad shape. ok I am done babbling. To make a long story short I just want to know if anyone has had some weight gain?

Hi,

I am on my 16th day of using NR. I am also on the sixteenth day of my period. It is not the brown discharge described here, but defintely blood. I am holidays at the moment and so have difficulty in accessing a doctor. I am thinking I should remove it, but I'm not sure. Has anyone else noticed a similar symptom and if so, did it just go away?

I haven't had any other bad effects yet and to tell the truth it's been a very difficult few weeks for me, I've lost my job etc. So, I don't think it's having an emotional effect. Perhaps this stress lately could explain my proloinged period though? Any advice???

Thanks.

My husband had quadruple by-pass surgery in 2001 specialist said it was 'genetic' narrowings. Had never had a cholesterol problem and Zocor then changed to Lipitor 40mg as a prcaution to ensure he doesn't. He is an Insulin dependant diabetic and last week he did not take the Liptior for four nights his BSL readings were immediately halved and I wonder if there is a connection. Has anyone else noticed this, I would appreciate any responses....Jan

I am on Lipantil (Fenofibrate) 267MG and Ezetrol (Ezetimibe) 10MG.
I was on a 20MG statin but changed to the above because it didn't agree with me.
Has anyone noticed a tendency to suntan more easily?
I look like I have been under a sunlamp, my face being noticeably browner than the rest of me yet I have not spent a lot of time in direct sunlight.
I believe the Fenofibrate may be the cause of greater photosensitivity.
Should I worry or just be pleased I look browner?
Anyone else noticed this effect?

Hello everyone!
I have only been using yasmin for two months (i've just started my 3rd strip). I had been using dianette previously for treatment of polycystic ovaries. i had been using dianette for three years since i was 18 years old and had no problems with it whatsoever. (i decided to change because my boyfriend thought it was making me grumpy, but after a short spell of not using any oral contraceptive, and now being on yasmin for two months, we have both come to the conclusion that i'm going to be grumpy forever!!lol!) Anyway, since starting on yasmin, i have had severe "period cramp" in the first week of taking a new strip and have several SEVERE bouts of diahorrea during my cycle. has anyone else noticed these side effects? these are the only side effects i have experienced (so far).
thanks everyone!

Since I have begun Sinulair, I have noticed improvement of my chronic nasal allergy symptoms. For the first time in YEARS, the congestion is finally lessening. However, I have noticed that I'm hyper all the time now. Where I have had sleep issues in the past, they have only been excacerbated by this medication. Has anyone else noticed this effect? I have tried to research it further, but I don't have access to a Physician's Desk Reference. The web isn't giving me the entire list of known side effects. I have only seen the vomiting, diarrhea or headache listed, but have yet to see something regarding insomnia and hyperactivity.

My husband has been on coumadin for about three months and recently I noticed that his face is very oily, especially around his nose. I also noticed that his nose and cheekbones are very red, almost like sunburn. Sort of like a raccoon. Has anyone else noticed something like this? Also, it seems to be difficult to keep in the "zone" that the doctors want to keep him in. Any suggestions on how to make this easier?

I'm glad I found this site. Now I have a clue as to why I have been so tired and depressed. I have only been taking 10mg of lisinopril for two weeks and my bp has been running 138/63 to 120/81. Not too high as far as I was concerned. My doctor scolded me for taking St Johns Wort, but even an increased dosage has not helped this bout of depression. After she scolded me and I read up on it, it appears that her major concern was that it was over the counter and she couldn't get a piece of the pie for prescribing another med. I don't like to take meds and the only rx I've taken in the last 30 yrs has been synthroid for 2 years. I consider myself healthy, have never been overweight and exercise regularly. I actually came here to check about dry hair, since that is my major issue right now. I'll be on the lookout for the other side effects listed on this site. Has anyone else noticed dry dead looking hair?

Here's one I haven't seen yet: increase in yeast infections. Has anyone else noticed this? I haven't had a yeast infection in years - probably since I was last on the pill (before I was pregnant with my daughter, who is now 6). I don't remember which pill I was on then. But it's been years since I"ve had a YI. I've been on Yasmin for 6 months now - to try to stop mid cycle bleeding (it has worked) and I'm on my 2nd YI. The first I thought was a fluke. Now I'm thinkign it's the pill.

Also, I"m prone to cold sores adn I've definitely seen an increase in them in teh last 6 months. Again, I didn't see a coincedence, but now I'm wondering...

I'm going off the pill when I finish this pack. My doctor only put me on it for 6 months to see if it stops the mid cycle bleeding. It did, and I don't want to be on it any more (I don't like the moodiness, cramping, and decreased sexual drive). I have infertility issues so getting pregnant isn't an issue for me. I'm hoping that my moodiness will go away when I finish this pack.

Wow! I thought most of this was in my head! I keep telling my husband that this medication's side affects are almost as bad as the Crohn's flair ups! I, too, have had weight gain, increased appetite, mood swings, insomnia, night sweats, hair loss, hair growth on my face, leg cramps, depression, moon face, swelling around my neck (and ankles and abdomen)...in fact, you name a side affect and I probably have it. Currently, I am on 20 mgs (tapered from 40 mgs for 4 months). It seems like the side affects have increased as I have decreased dosage. Has anyone else noticed this as they decrease?

After falling on my right rib cage, tearing muscle tissue, I was precribed a 5mg dose- 1-3 times daily.

Usually, I only needed to take one during the night, when the pain was worst. (Took ibuprofen during the day -due to the dizziness, drowsiness effects of flexeril).

However, I noted that each morning after I took the flexeril - I woke up like "a bear with a sore head" to quote my wife's phrase. Free -floating hostility, irritabililty - snapping at every minor thing and every one. The effects sometimes taking the whole morning to wear off.

Has anyone else noticed such 'psychological' side effects? I am sure they were attached to the flexeril, since once I'd stopped taking it, the 'bearishness' and chronic distemper creased.

Note: I have been historically a 'drug-sensitive' person, and perhaps even at the 5 mg dose, I was OD'ing. That is one theory anyway.
