Hey i'm 16 and i was a Yasmin for a couple of months the first month i had my period for 30days then i came off it for a month went back on it the next and that month 2 weeks into i got cluster migraines that were so severe i ended up in hospital 3 times getting shot up with methadone to try and stop the pain and break the cycle, i had a week of the cluster migraines where i was having up 2 to four a day. Although i did notice when taking it a lack of appetite thus a decrease in food take so i lost weight as it is suppose to speed up your metabolism, but i found i had absolutely no energy on it and being a lightweight rower energy was vital but so was weight control so i stopped the 2nd day of my cluster migraines and noticed on coming off it a great deal of weight gain for a lightweight rower which was difficult and i am now unable to take any form of the pill :(

I have cancer, and am on chemo, my doctor prescribed budeprion xl 300mg (not my oncologist) I am completely dehydrated and just horrible !! should I discontinue the budeprion. I have had fluid infusions each of the last to days. I have a dry mouth and no appetite

Hi, I had the Mirena inserted in July 2008. When it was inserted it did not hurt much, I had little cramps during the rest of the day. The first few days it was ok then I started feeling somewhat sore down there and I felt like the Mirena was about to come out. So I went to the doctor he said he had to cut the string because it was too long. Ok. Afterwards I had my period for like ten days (it was very light). After that there was NO MORE PERIOD. Everything was going fine until I started feeling sudden cramps around my stomach (I'm thinking its the are where the mirena is inserted) but the good thing is that that only happens once in a while so I'm guessing thats normal. The thing that I DISLIKE the loss of sexual appetite, I pretty much had a very good sex life now I just don't feel comfortable anymore. After sex I feel somewhat sore and my husbands says he can actually feel the mirena sometimes. I don't like that loss of sex appetite and I do believe is because of the mirena because I was not like that. I don't know if I should get it removed or if this is a temporary symptom and it will go away or what?

I have been on Prednisolone about 4 times in recent years. the highest dose was last year when i was on 80mg reducing weekly by 5mg. I have had most of the side affects you all talk about above. I have severe colitis so the side-effects of this drug are something i have to put up with. at the moment i have all the classic side-effects i usually get, rapid hunger, swelling to my face (moon face), neck has layer of fat, swollen back (buffalo hump), bruising easily, horrible taste in my mouth, swollen stomach. the one good side effect is it gives me lovely smooth skin lol. anyway the point of my post isn't to rip this drug appart as i have to say for me its a wonder drug and this time has prevented me from having my bowel removed! from personal experience once you finish the steroid treatment after a few weeks you'll notice the swelling go, my hunger usually fizzles out quite quickly (altho i have a large appetite in the first place!!) none of the side effects are permanent, so please all rest assured you will go back to normal just try not to put on too much weight while on the drug.

Hi to all Yasmin victims. I have been off Yasmin for 2 months now and still experiencing anxiety in the mornings and depression. Silke, flower babies, whoever is there to help me believe this suffering will come to an end. I lost the joy in life, and cannot function as i used to. Please please write to me girls, i really need support. I am 26 and living on my own in another city. I had to move next to them for 1.5 months in order to survive. I lost so much weight, my thyroid started to work fast (it is under control now). I have a beautiful and loving boyfriend, and he is suffering with me too, our relationship is damaged a lot because of my severely depressed mood. I need to talk to people who are getting better. I am on antidepressants because I was soooo depressed and with no appetite. I feel much better compared to the previous month, I am trying my best to stay strong but sometimes loose my hope. I really need you guys, I really need your supporting words.

Am on my second 3-week course of doxycycline for Lyme disease since the first go round didn't eradicate the infection. Have all the classic side effects mentioned, however the stomach ailments are GREATLY alleviated by taking a strong (70 billion parts per capsule) probiotic. Take it half way between the 2 doxycycline doses and although it isn't magic it does make a difference.
Although I have no appetite, I try to graze lightly on foods that appeal to me throughout the day and that seems to help with many of the horrific side effects.
Also, my MD suggested I take Aleve and NOT Ibuprofen for headaches since the Ibuprofen can cause a "headache" kickback (and causes stomach pain). Don't know if that's true, but the Aleve seems to help a little.
Worst side effects for me are utter exhaustion, dizziness, stomach pain, sore throat, and a head that hurts feels like it is filled with wet cotton. Also heart palpitations which may be part of the Lyme disease.

I've had my Mirena for about 15 and a half months and I am having it removed today at 2 o'clock. At first I had sharp pains when I would sit down and I felt like the cords were poking me and irritating me. My OB/GYN requires patients to come back one month after having it put in so he can check it and make sure it is still in place. At this visit he also trimmed the cords although he acted like he didn't believe me when I told him that I could feel them poking me when I sat down and that it hurt. At first I didn't notice any bad side effects, but I did have one good one: my periods stopped, but I still had occasional and sporadic spotting. I didn't think to look for any bad side effects because I got the device under the impression that it had no bad side effects. I thought it only had a rare complication of perforating the uterus, but since mine was in place at the one month check, I didn't think about anymore until I started thinking about having another baby recently. I went online to see if I had to have a doctor remove the Mirena or if I could do it myself, and I found out that it's best done by a professional because bad things can happen and then you'd have to go to the doctor anyway. Plus, I didn't want to hurt my chances of having another baby. While online I discovered this whole world of message boards where women were having a lot of the same problems I'd been having in recent months and they all blamed their Mirenas. Some claimed that their problems had gone away since having it removed. I never thought to link my circumstances to the Mirena, but when I saw how many women are having the exact same problems as me I knew that I needed to go ahead and get mine out ASAP. Here is a list of my side effects, and I've found other women have had them as well with Mirena: weight gain, bloated stomach, depression, short temper with husband and daughter, acne, low sex drive, spotting, cramps, constipation, and back pain. There may be more, but I can't remember them all right now. Some of them may not even be related to the device, but I've read of so many women with Mirena who are having or have had the same issues, so I suspect a link between my problems and Mirena. I posted a question to anyone who used Tri-Sprintec before, but now it's been several months & I'd like to let everyone else know how it's worked for me! Tri-Sprintec has been the best birth control I've ever taken. I have been on other birth controls over the years, and up to this point Yasmin was good but I still had some side effects. I've just started my fourth month on Tri-Sprintec, and I feel more like myself again. I don't have any crazy mood swings, my skin has cleared up, my periods are regular again & my appetite has gone back to normal. I recommend Tri-Sprintec to anyone who is looking for an affordable & reliable birth control (it's offered at the Wal-Mart pharmacy for $9 a month if you don't have insurance.)

I'm so glad I found this website. I've been on Femcon since December 30, and I CAN'T stand it!!! I've been bleeding for the past 5 days. I've already put on weight and notice an increase in my appetite. I'm also extremely moody and irritable. In addition, even though I take these pills at night, I still experience nausea when I take them. I'm also breaking out more. Like many others, my doctor gave me 5 months of samples from their office. I should have known better when the office manager was the one who originally recommended I take this pill. I haven't taken oral contraception for a couple of years. I was on Ortho TriCyclin and also tried the NuvaRing for a couple of months, and NEVER had these problems. When I called my doctor's office, I told the nurse that I was concerned these pills were too strong for me, she told me that Femcon is a low hormone pill. I just can't believe I'm having such a strong reaction to this pill. I want to stop it immediately, but the nurse tells me that if I do, I will bleed even heavier for the for a couple of weeks until my body re-regulates. She said that this bleeding I'm having should stop in a couple of months, but I'm sorry... It's just NOT worth it. Heed warning when the doctor wants to give you this pill... consider another option. The side effects have been unbearable.

Singulair is bad!! I have posted this before in October but just noticed the posting is no longer there??? My son is 4 and had horrible side effects. He has been medically cleared by 3 different physicians and everything leads back to the Singulair. We have a happy loving home, no stress than normal everyday stuff. He does great in his catholic school setting. He literally was as almost as a picture perfect kid as you could get. He was only on Singulair. About 2 months ago things started to happen. Unexplained fevers of always 102 or higher, severe headaches, seeing colors, joint and leg pain, stomach aches, sleep walking, night terrors, bad nail biting habit, depression, extremely emotional, chronic sinus infections, poor appetite, and weight loss. He just simply looked lethargic all the time. He missed school, fun activities and simply started to loose interest in things. I too knew something was wrong. The pediatrician thought I was too a hypochondriac. Then one night he had an emotional break down. He said things no 4 year old should ever think let alone say. Like he wanted to hurt us with knifes, he didn't love anyone, he hated Jesus. All along while crying because he did not understand why he felt this way. He wanted to die he said! I was so devastated. His teacher and our family could not believe the night and day difference in him. He was so happy and such a nurturing child to others. Now he simply had no emotion. You could look right through him. So after several doctors and psychiatrist they have concurred that the Singulair has thrown his Serotonin off. So he now has this chemical imbalance that we are working through with a psychiatrist who our insurance does not cover but is the best. All the other physical symptoms have subsided, he eats like a horse now, and no more nail biting, headaches or fevers. HMM coincidence... I think not!!! I have tried very hard to get the word out. I have had so much response just via private email that my friends have forwarded and so on. This is not isolated incidences. We are just the lucky ones to have discovered this website. Imagine those kids and adults that are still suffering. I work on an ambulance and i can tell you we had a 4 year old boy have a seizure out of the blue with no recent illness or history. Guess what med he was one??? Write every health official, contact the FDA, attorney general. Seriously this is the only way things will change!!

Folks seriously this drug is bad news. Yes it worked great for my son's asthma. We thought it was a wonder drug. Then things changed. My son had horrible side effects to this also. It took us 5 months to link it to the meds. I realized after reading this website and all the blogs from other parents. My son is 4 years old and had the following symptoms: Weight loss, poor appetite, muscle and joint pain, headaches, unexplained fevers, complained of seeing colors, blue under the eyes, severe stomach cramps and horrible horrible thoughts no 4 year old should ever experience in their mind. I did not even know who my child was that is how scary it was. This is such a dangerous drug. I have talked to several other parents who this has happened too including having seizures out of the blue with no history. I work in the medical field and it seems only a few docs are recognizing this. I have seen this in other kids. This drug may be great for others and yes there are side effects to every medication. However I do not think all these children are having the same side effects. Do you?? SERIOUSLY TAKE YOUR KIDS OFF THIS TERRIBLE DRUG, REPORT IT TO THE FDA!!!

Hello to all! I have been taking Topamax 200mg twice a day for eleven years for epilepsy. I have had all the symptoms previously mentioned. You will get your apetite and taste back! I still get the tingly sensations in my feet at times, but no longer in my face nor hands. I still have trouble remember really easy words; for instance, answering machine and sometimes have trouble explaining what I mean. About two years into the medication I developed anxiety, never corralating it with the medication. About three years later I decided to get treated by a physician and began taking xanax. I am begining to wonder however, if the topamax is the underlying factor. I am going to taper off the drug to see. I hoped this helped. Good luck to all.

I read about how YAZ birth control pill affects the body and psych and I am now scared. This is my 2nd day of YAZ (I've never been on birth control pills ever and I am 27 years old), it's all new to me but after reading all these negative posts about Yaz I don't know what to do. Before the birth control pills, I was depressed, annoying, serious weight problems - 210 lbs :~~((, low energy, low libido, always tired, terrible migraines every 2nd day, ridiculously increased appetite and excessive hunger, hair where it shouldn't be, menstrual blood clots, excessive cramping etc
I have all these problems for 3 years now and now that the family doc. put me on YAZ birth control pill I am even more scared - mainly of more weight gain, it would be a tragedy for me, I am fat enough already and what's worse I can't lose the weight, exercise doesn't help, diet doesn't help, NOTHING. Will YAZ birth control pill worsen my already tragic condition? I just don't know what to do and what to believe ... I appreciate any advice or help you can give me ... Thank You to all!

I am 27 year old female I lived a very active life went to the gym 5 times a week for 2hrs.I been on coumadin Since Feb. I gained so much weight. almost 50lbs.I had a disection of my right artery (one of the main veins in your head). I have no idea what caused it the doctors in Houston have no idea. I had 2 strokes.I take 15 Mg of coumadin my INR is never stable I range from 13-15 Mg of coumadin. If any one can help please let me know Im tired of being fat.

My name is Krysten im 14 and im in the 8th grade. I'v been taking adderal for almost 4 months now. Before taking adderal I wasent doing good in school, I would always get into fights. My life was miserable. So I asked my doctor if I could try adderal agian. Before when I took adderall my stomach hurt and I wasent feeling the same. Then I wanted to give it a try. A week after I started to feel my self agian, my family and my teachers noticed a huge diffrence in my academics and my ADD. I went from getting E's and D's to getting on the honor role last quarter. I got the most improved in my grade and I was very happy. Now its the final quarter and now im feeling that adderal isant helping as much as it use to I'm worring about if I'm going to do as well as last quorter and im feeling a little anxiety. I went from taking 30 - 40mg in less than a month, Since I take 10mg after school. I also have been exeirencing weird things. When I get up from sitting down, I sometimes get a huge headach, I cant breath for about 30 seconds, I sometimes see stars and Its like a black out also, I get up then I cant see anything its all black, then slowy I can see agian. I would really like to know if i should raise my Mg higher for me to focus more and be happyer over time. I think adderal was a life changer for me. Please answer my question as soon as poosible!

Diarea, daily, no apetite.....I went to their webiste and they claimed it is only a rare effect. Apparently not.
Glad I saw this site....won't take it again. Calling doctor to see what he wants to do.

I have been taking yasmin for only three months now, but I suffer from terrible headaches and an increased apetite. I also often feel slugish and not at my normal energy level. I want to stop taking it right away, but can I do so mid-pack? I want it out of my system. Is that ok? or do i need to wait until finishing the pack?

I recently stoped taking yasmin because it was causing me physical and emotional problems. I had constant back pain, stomach cramps, dizziness, weakness,mood swings,anger,depression,anxiety,and lost of apetite.
I had my period for a month!
it messed up my hormones real bad.
please don't take this pill it would cause you pain.

I am having panic attacks and have been crying for no reason and i dont know why very depressed and everything scares me lately and ive had a decreased apetite , are these side effects of the yasmin i want to continue taking birth control is there a better product out there?

post- Yasmin effects: i also had panic attacks when i went off yasmin but they subsided after a week. my apetite is insatiable, but i also run almost every day. has anyone else experienced this?

suggestions- i took these drops of Agnus castus, it's a fruit derivative I think and you can get it at any health food store. it's supposed to regulate your cycle. I dont know if it made a difference but it made me feel better mentally.

Also, for the hair loss- nothing can change that, but I bought this shampoo from Lush called cynthia stout that made my roots "fluffier" adn look less...thin...

sickofbeingsick- i'm off the pill. i'll never go on it again. i practice safe sex and have a prescription for the morning after pill. people liveed without the pill for thousands of years! i completely know how you feel. my only advice is to get off yasmin and rid your body of the craziness asap!! keep us updated pls!

i just wanted you to know that i suffered and am still suffering from heart palpitations too! i have been off yasmin for 5 months and for the first 2 months it was terrible i really couldnt cope. im only 23 years old and i felt like my life was falling apart... this website is wat saved me from going insane.

now i have noticed a pattern 5 months later and i realised i only get the palpitatinos when im ovulating and the week of my period.
i also get the migraines too and such sharp pains in my head... very strange... my head itself feels very foggy you could say at times..

also i used to feel extremely tired all the time but then at night i could hardly sleep... i lost my apetite for a while and my sex drive aswell but this came back after a couple of months....
i really noticed a lot of improvement around 4 months coming off yasmin...

about 9 months after Iraq I began taking 10 mg of Paxil. By july I was taking 40mg in adition of another drug to help. During the first 3 months I would sleep about 12 hours a day and sometimes 40 hours in a 48 hour period. Lets say the Army was not having a good time with me. There were many dizzy days and spells. It was hard to fall asleep and always imposible to get up. I had anxiety atacks about 3-7 per week and sometimes 2-3 per day. Sadly my leaders would not let me go home from the field. Now it has been 5 months sine I began taking the medication and I am getting round. I have been 145 pounds since age 24 until age 29. I began getting round at age 30 and it is not the age but the medications. I notised fatige during workouts and after long runs. I question my future in the military based on the condition I am in now. Of course, there is no sexual apitite but good thing myy wife was going through the end of her pregnancy. I have a few months before my wife gets an apetite. Allthough Paxil has helped me control my disorder which was out of control at one point, I now have other problems which are affecting me in my personal life and slowly clashing with my work

headaches apetite loss

After reviewing my record of previous reactions to antibiotics (because so many of them make me nauseous), I was prescribed this med for 20 days for an upper respiratory infection. I took for 5 days without any problems, I woke up on the 6th day with severe adnominal pain and nausea. Because my doctor was on vacation went to a different doctor in his office. Reminded him about the med I was on, but hadn't bothered me yet. He determined it was gastroentreritis probably caused by previous nights dinner, so he prescribed Nexium. But also had me do an upper sonogram to check for gallstones because by gallbladder seemed tender. The sonogram showed nothing wrong. I didn't take any medication that day. I took the Nexium and the sulfameth the next day (Saturday). I had flu like symptoms all day, aches and pains all over, face swollen, headache. I awoke Sunday with a rash all over my body, just itched in a few places, no apetite but thought I was feeling better. Thats when I started reading this site about all the side effects and deteremined the Sulfameth was the problem. Could not sleep at all Sunday night, my legs hurt so badly. I had other pains in back, arms, hands but my legs were the worst. I finally went to the emergency room at 4:30 in the morning because I couldn't take the pain. They ran blood test to determine nothing wrong. I don't think anyone believed it was a reaction to Sulfameth because I had taken for 5 days without problems. Prescribed Atarax and Prednisone for the rash (which was going away). Was reluctant to take any medication, but my doctors office confirmed this would also help the joint pain. I took and could feel a little difference, at least was able to sleep some. But still severe pain in my legs, took another dose of Atarax and actually woke up with most of the pain gone. I also had the vivid dreams. This was the sickest I have ever been, the pain was relentless.
