Im also a victim of the Kenalog shot. I was having pain due to what fibromyalgia. I couldn't see my regular doctor because she is a great doctor and its very hard to get an appointment with her so I took an appointment with another doctor at the same office because I needed relief from the pain soon. This doctor said the steroid shot would kill the pain right away so after the visit with him the nurse gave me the shot. Ever since then I haven't been the same. My hormones are all out of whack, with 2 long periods a month , bad migraines, hot flashes. Not to mention the ugly deformity I have from the sight wear I got the shot on my butt. The dent started small and is now bigger. Im so upset. I had no plans of becoming a model or anything but this is my body and now I feel uncomfortable in the nude!!! Im outraged and hurt. If I knew that this would happen I would have never excepted this stupid shot that didn't even really help me!!!! I have self esteem issues like most women now I have to add this pointless deformity on top of everything!!!

I was prescribed a 6 day pack of 4mg Methylprednisolone (Medrol) at the ER for an allergic reaction I was having to a gel that I used on my sking. The Medrol worked great at stopping the allergic reaction. My swelling, pain, and rash began to rapidly clear up. Unfortunately I began to have many side effects. On day 5 I was unable to get out of bed I was so tired and dizzy. I had a headache and mental confusion and unclear thinking. I called my primary care provider on a Sunday to ask if it is okay to stop taking the steroid. She said it was and that it was unlikely the medrol was causing my symptoms. She told me I had a virus. I told her the symptoms I was having were listed as side effects on the drug info sheet but she did not believe me. IA few days later I made an appointment to see a doctor, not the same one who took my phone call. This doctor said all of my symptoms were from the Medrol. She knew because of personal experience she saw in her mother who was also taking steroids. She told me medrol can cause a manic response or a depressive, the latter is what I was having. As part of my exam she wanted me to have blood work but said I should wait at least 2 weeks to allow the drug to get out of my system. It is now 19 days since my appointment and I am still having side effects: nausea, complete lack of appetite, dizzy, and tired all the time. I put a call in to my doctor today and am waiting to hear back. I am sorry that I took this medication, will never take again. How long will it take for this med to get completely out of my system so that I feel normal again?
A friend told me her mother had a manic episode on steroids. When I was younger I took steroids for a brief period and had much milder side effects.

I took Levaquin the first time (that I know of and remember) in Dec 2006..probably for bronchitis or pneumonia. I started having strange symptoms, headaches, achy body, etc but chalked it all up to being sick. I have since taken in 4 more times - even after talking to my Dr about the strange things that were happening to me. I just realized by reading everything online that all of these things are more than just me being out of shape...I have had about 75% of the problems associated with this drug, but simply thought I was getting older, out of shape and ill. The headaches are the worst, the sharp pains that radiate through my skull at any given time for no apparent reason and the constant radiating pain coming from my shoulders, the funny vision issues that happen off and on, the incredible pain in my jaw that leads to what I call a 'pulled muscle' in the right side of my jaw, the severe pain in my muscles, mostly in my feet and shoulders but has now started in my wrists, taste of metal, night sweats are ridiculous! and I have started missing my period with this dose of Levaquin, however the new lower back pain that I am feeling is about 10 times worse than that of meses cramps, the sharp shooting pains in muscles sometimes happen in my arms, legs and knees. The very odd feeling of having a bruise when I touch any part of my body to scratch or rub it....the pain is extreme. I have made about 100 excuses for each of these things that I have experienced over the last year and a half and now I feel that I can probably blame it all on Levaquin, I have a doctor's appointment with a new doctor Thursday and am hoping she/he can provide some relief of some of these issues. Please make sure all your loved ones know not to take this drug!

Hi Silke,
Thank you for responding to my post. Since writing it, I have been to my family doctor who actually shook his head and mumbled something about "women networking, men never do this" when I showed him the printed out pages from this site. His advice for my chest pains, etc. to feel better is"a nice week in Jamaica without the kids". I cried. Today I had an apointment with my gyno and I was prepared for more of the same. Instead he told me that I was the first of his patients to complain of side effects from Yasmin but that he would research it, call the pharmecutical company and get back to me about what he finds out. (I asked him specifically to find out about treatment or relief for the symptoms). I am also going to report these to the makers of Yasmin, and recommend that everyone here do the same.(unless of course you already have and I'm just behind...)
I've been off Yasmin for two weeks now and am even worse symptom wise. If anyone has had severe symptoms (chest pain, pressure, anxiety, hair loss and growth, etc) and has gotten well again, please post! I am a little discouraged when I see how long these symptoms are lasting.
Determined to find a solution,
Kath

I was on Yasmin for a litle less than 2 years. I went off in April because of the same effects mentioned here. A month ago my sodium levels dropped dangerously low. I have been diagnosed with something called SIADH (syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion). No matter how much salty crap I eat, my levels stay below average. I have an apointment with an endocrinologist August 8th. Could this have anything to do with Yasmin? I am a healthy 29 yr old or at least I thought I was. I now am in the doctor's at least twice a week to have blood drawn.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all.

I am 63 years old and have been on Lipitor 3 years. Since I have arthritis in my right knee, I dismissed symptoms starting last summer in my thumb which by October involved my left knee, increased problems in my right knee, and left hip and back. This finally became so stiff and painful I could hardly walk across the room. I have to stand for a few minutes when I first get up before walking and am so stiff I walk with an unsteady gait. I also tended to trip over nonexistant things on the carpet. I have had a few experiences with vertigo. I started doing some leg strengthening exercises, using a tens unit, applying heat to my knees, and taking a lot of ibuprofen and/or aleve. I finally mentioned this to my internist and he said to discontinue the Lipitor and it could take 5 to 6 weeks for it to get out of my system. It has been 1-1/2 weeks since I discontinued the Lipitor and don't know if I have improved ever so slightly or it is just my imagination. I have an apointment with my internist Jan 26 to evaluate the situation. I would like to hear from anyone who has experienced improvement and what was their time frame for improvement.

Well, I haven't had any side effects with omeprazole, but I just got home from my gastro doctor who prescribed what he called a slightly stronger version of Prilosec, and they filled my prescription with omeprazole, and reading all of these postings I don't think I will be taking it until I call back and have a conversation with him. Last August I was diagnosed with acid reflux/anxiety and was given a prescription of ranitidine wich I tolerated and which is in Zantac anyway, which I also tried....I was also prescribed clonazepam for my anxiety which has helped. My main annoyance when this all started was a slight shortness of breath, went to the ER two days in a row, they did EKG's and found some spikes that they thought were unusual and made me an appointment to have a stress test with a cardiologist....all of which came back normal....
-- By barbie4423 | Reply | Private Message meI have been back and forth to my regular GP. He says my heart and chest are fine, breathing is fine. I have taken everything you can think of over-the-counter from Mylanta to Zantac, but Pepcid seems to help the most...anyway, to make a long story short, the last time I went to my GP I explained I was still having the constant belching all day, the spitting up, not a lost of reflux, mostly liquid, and he gave me a coupon for a new drug called Kapidex....
It is similar to this omeprazole I believe as it is a time-release capsule.
With Kapidex, you get the release of the proton pump inhibitor, then 4 or 5 hours later the release of a medicine that is supposed to work toward healing any EE that might have occurred with the reflux...I took 1 capsule and felt so wiped out I decided not to continue it, couldn't take it and work a mid-day shift as well, but there were no other side effects to it, and I checked online and people had mostly positive things to say about it, so I might call him and see if I can get a lower milligram dosage of it as he started me off with 60 mill.
Glad I got on here and found this web site with people posting their experiences with omeprazole before I actually took one. I am going to call my doctor back and inform him or someone of all the horror tales I have come across on this web site.
I had two gastric tests, a barium swallow and x-rays and a stomach ultra sound....what they found was a bit of GERDS in my upper digestive tract, but it is nothing I can't tolerate so far compared to the horrible experiences I have read here....I hate to take any medications, but I think I will stick with my Pepcid and my clonazepam until I talk to my gastroenterologist again...
I hope everyone is well....
