the parmacy has been giving me budeprion for the past 6-8 months and i always tell them to give me wellbutrin and i'll pay the $40. this past month my husband picked up my script for me so i just decided to try it since they kept telling me it was the same. for the past month i have been slipping into a deeper and deeper depression, gained 10 lbs, didn't want to leave the house, took naps when i never take naps, and cried a lot. everyone in my life has been asking why i haven't been myself for the past month but i had no answer for them. i didn't put 2 and 2 together since i've been on the wellbutrin for 5 yrs until i researched the differneces online. i was appalled to find that it was the budeprion that was doing it to me. i started taking the wellbutrin again today and can't wait to feel normal again. i really thought there was something wring with me and am so mad at the FDA for approving this drug.

My GP put me on Advair in the summer of 2006 because I was having trouble with so much phlegm in my throat and losing my voice by using Combivent. I also have a weakened voice as a result of asthma medication. For the first three weeks the Advair was great. Then one weekend at our cabin, I had a severe asthma attack -- to the point that my husband wanted to pack up and drive an hour to an hospital emergency ward. I thought it was from something in the cabin or in the air. As a result of some research on Advair, I truly believe that it was from taking this medication. Not realizing this, I have continued to take Advair at the advice of my GP. I then noticed that my skin was very itchy, mostly on my legs at that time. My GP said it was excema. It started spreading to my hands, wrists, elbows. I started reading about the side effects of Advair -- from the insert that comes with the discus -- itchy skin is one of the side effects listed. In December 2006, I went to the lung specialist that has been treating me for asthma for several years. I asked him about the itching and mess on my wrists, etc. He indicated that it was excema and not a reaction to the Advair -- and proceeded to write me a presription for more Advair. In January 2007, I went back to my GP because I couldn't stand the itching and red blotches anymore. She wouldn't give me anything to relieve it, but sent me to an allergist. I asked him about the mess my skin was in and he told me that it was very rare that someone would react to Advair in this manner and he didn't think that was the cause. He decided that I was allergic to dog and cat dander. Just the other day I was finally sent to a dermatologist. She was appalled at the condition of my skin, as the ithing and redness had now started to spread to my upper arms, under arms, breasts and stomach area. I took some research about Advair with me to this appointment. She has now taken me off the Advair for a two week trial and given me an ointment help with the healing. Finally, a specialist that really might think the Advair is the cause of this itching all over my body. I sure hope that these doctors will realize that I really have an adverse reaction to Advair and will find another medicaiton that will be suitable, but not cause the problems I am having now. my voice is still strained, but I am sure as the Advair leaves my system, this will improve too.

I have been taking Yaz for the last five weeks and I have experienced horrendous psychological side effects. I thought that they would even out so I decided to constinue taking it, but I have only gotten worse. I am experiencing anxiety in the form of panic attacks, lack of sleep, inability to eat, and depression. I encourage anybody else experiencing these symptoms to post them as well, as doing research on the web helped me to identify this drug as the problem. I visitited a new gynocoligist in New York City two months ago who prescribed this drug without telling me that it had been designed to battle severe PMS and emotional symptoms. I am appalled that he did not tell me this when he prescribed it, nor the fact that it had just been introduced to the market in 2006.

I had been taking Singulair for about 18 months and it did help my allergy and asthma symptoms alot. However, for over a year I have been experiencing extreme body fatique for no apparent reason. It would come and go a bit, but never fully go away. I went to several different doctors and got blood tests done which always showed everything pretty much normal. I finally started looking more closely at the side effects of my pharmaceutical meds. Years ago I discovered that the steroid based inhalants and nose sprays made me very moody and depressed over time. So, I looked on this site for effects for Singulair and noticed that some adults mentioned fatigue. (By the way, I was appalled at the side effects in some children.) I have been off Singulair now for over a month and have felt great! My energy level is back up to normal and I don't have any more of that heavy body fatigue. Be aware that some side effects creep up on you so that you don't automatically make the connection between the drug and what's going on in your body. I won't make this mistake a third time.

Mydaughter is 8 and in second grade. She has been diagnosed with adhd. We have been taking adderall xr for about a month and a half. While the school day goes well for her, the afternoons and ugly for us. She is very agitated, cries for nothing and irratic for about 1-2 hours. We also have a hard time getting her to sleep. Her doctor prescribed Lunesta 1 mg, but it takes a long time for her to go to sleep. We start around 9:00 or10:00 and it takes a good 1 1/2 hours to get her to go to sleep. She does not sleep thru the night either and has never been a good sleeper. ALong with this add she also has hydrocephalus. While this works great for her attention problem in school, it is very exhausting for me in knowing how to handle her moods, outbursts and the sleep issues. Any advice on either? Thank you

I am so appalled to read these sad stories as to what has happened to their loved ones while taking Lipitor (or, for that matter, any drug! I was lucky though. My doctor put me on Lipitor but only took it every other day. I'm not one that believes in medicines unless it's an emergency. I go by how my body feels. Well, did not respond well to Lipitor. Starting to forget names, places, and even got lost driving in my own neighborhood. I'm 55 yrs old.
What ashame. I now do not take anything except for red wine vinegar and honey (mix it together) and swallow that. Just in a shot glass. You only need a little. Do it maybe once every two weeks. But everyone needs to read this fantastic book by Kevin Trudeau. It's about natural cures and how all these pharmaceutical companies & doctors do not want us to know about what he (Trudeau) has to say.
Believe me, read this book and see what he has to say! It could save your life.

I started on Levaquin five days ago for a sinus infection/congestion that has lingered all summer. I work-out three days a week and walk three to four miles a day, but experienced incredible soreness, stiffness and joint pain on day two and since. My legs feel weak and restless and I have a headache today. I am coughing more that when I started on this drug. I decided to look this drug up and was appalled that the symptoms I have been feeling are probably due to this drug. My family says I'm cranky and I feel terribly lethargic. After reading this web-site, I decided to check the antiobiotic that I was prescribed last February for broncititis and in June for a sinus infection. Both times Levaquin. Maybe that's when my left elbow started hurting (alot). I thought maybe I pulled it during a work-out, but it hasn't gotten better. I just threw away the next 10 days worth of pills and will call my doctor tomorrow. This drug is scary!

I was administered Levaquin for 7 days intervenously in the hospital and sent home with more for 9 additional days. I started having pain above my left thumb, red and swollen and painful. That went away but now I have severe pain in my knees and legs, shortness of breath and rapid heartbeat. After reading all of these side effects for this medication I'm appalled at the doctors. I called my doctor and he said Oh yeah, it's the Levaquin but can you take it for at least 3 more days? NO!!!! And I advise anyone else not to take this medication either.
How do you file a complaint with the FDA?

I must post this comment! My daughter started taking Yasmin in mid August - the same day she went far away to college. She had always experienced severe back pain around her periods and her periods were very irregular. So her doctor suggested Yasmin and she decided to give it a try. The back pain did not improve and she bled heavier but my WARNING here is that she became severely depressed and extremely exhausted. She did not want to do anything but sleep and would cry all the time. At first I thought she was home sick being so far away at college and I felt completely helpless. When I talked to her on the phone she sounded like a little girl curled up in the corner in a dark room. I prayed and prayed and feel like my prayers were answered by being directed to this web site. I was appalled when I read what all these women are experiencing when they are on Yasmin. I immediately called my daughter and told her to read this web site. She called me back sobbing and said she was stopping the pill that day. That has been 2 weeks now and I am telling you all that she is now back to her old self - very perky, wanting some adventure, hanging out with friends and meeting new ones. She still gets a little tired (now THAT could be college life) but she is no longer experiencing the depression and severe exhaustion. Her other side effects were a breakout in her complexion and some bloating.
If you are experiencing severe sadness, exhaustion and irritablility and don't know why since taking Yasmin GET OFF IT NOW. I think every person who has made a posting on this web site should send a similar letter to the FDA. It's the only way they will know this "miracle" pill is far from a miracle.

I am 55 and was prescribed 40mg per day of Zocor. I am physically fit and thin, but high cholesterol is in my family history. After about 2 months on the drug, my cholesterol improved dramatically. However, I have had increasing joint pain everywhere....even in my wrists. I could not even get up and down well, as my knees hurt. I thought I was getting cancer or something.....my mother is very ill and they gave her many medications that I was trying to monitor. One of them was Zocor. I read the side effects and was appalled. I stopped taking the Zocor just 2 days ago and I already feel so much better! Not sure how I am going to deal with the high cholesterol, but I will not take this drug unless I can take a small dose. I will have to ask my doctor about that.
