Nausea is the only side effect I have noticed after taking 300 mg of Wellbutrin for over three years now. The nausea is worst in the morning, after I take the pill. My stomach feels very acid, like I just drank a pot of coffee with no breakfast. It usually gets better if I eat something, although not always.
For the first few years, I also experienced decreased appetite - no complaints there! I lost weight, but this year I regained it. Not sure if the appetite suppression effect wore off, or if this year has just been really stressful for me.
I also found it impossible to smoke cigarettes - they tasted nasty. Another good side effect for me.
Overall, Wellbutrin has helped me with depression and social anxiety. Best of all, I have absolutely no sexual side effects, unlike with every other antidepressant I have tried.

Well, well, well. I'm glad I stumbled upon this drug in the side effects area. I, too, was sneakily substituted it for Wellbutrin XL! I've been on it for 2 mos now. I couldn't figure out why my moods had gotten worse and I was wanting to cry at stupid stuff on tv. I was thinking bad things were going to happen to my kids. I was having "almost" panic attacks when I was around a lot of people. That doesn't help when you go to church every Sunday. I have to sit in the crying room with the little kids. I just feel "out of sorts". I'm extra tired. I crave sweets and MUST have them. I'm like a drug addict, but with sweets. I thought my side effects were from the other meds I'm on, which I have not changed in many, many months. Now I know It's Budeprion. I am in the process of weaning off anyway because of the sweets addiction thing....I'm trying to lose weight that I gained on other meds over the last 2 yrs and THIS isn't helping. Thank you to all who posted. Good luck!

25 mg 2x a day to 100 mg 2 x a day will cut back to 100 mg 1 x a day because of the sinus/ ear problems however i began taking as a mood stabilizer/weight management drug and it has been wonderful. side effects have included tingling in hands, feet and face and appetite suppression. I have not been on any other prescription medications, so for you others, who have had bad experiences, most of you I have been reading have been taking one to three other meds at one time, maybe that could be adding to the issues of your side effects?? I'm not sure, but it's been great and I've not had any ongoing irritating side effect other than the ear pain caused by the high dosage.

Started 50 mg Topomax a week ago and to help lose weight gained from my lithium. I'm already on a mood stabilizer lamictal so I didn't need it for mood - only appetite suppression. The first day I did notice that my taste for diet sodas changed - I thought something was wrong with the can and threw it away and got another, but no, it was the same. Oh well. My appetite is pretty much zero, which is fine with me since I gained over 30 pounds since starting lithium seven months ago. I don't feel any tingling or any wierd sensations - but I did feel lethargic/"stupid" the first day (and I'm definitely not that!) - so I switched to taking it at night only and that took care of that. I still feel tired when I take it at night and a little slow in the morning but by the time I get to work I'm good to go. As far as how I'll do when my psych ups the dosage I'll have to see - I'll be sure and post. I think everyone tolerates meds differently and you need to research any drug before you take it.

minor tingling in feet, appetite suppression (which for me is good since I'm about 100lbs overweight as it is and gained weight on Seroquel), minor boughts of memory confusion/loss), TERRIBLE tastes with carbonated beverages (which again, for me, is a GREAT thing)..

Besides nausea, I also experience a caffeine-like effect from Wellbutrin. I forgot to put that in my last post - I guess I've been taking the pill so long I forgot about this effect. It is not a problem for me unless I take the pill late in the day - then I have trouble falling asleep. I just make sure to take the pill before noon, and then I avoid the insomnia. I do the same with coffee or anything with caffeine in it.

1. Nausea
2. Insomnia if taken late in the day, caffeine-like effect
3. Appetite suppression (may be temporary?), weight loss
4. Inability to enjoy smoking cigarettes
Hope this helps.
