Appitite symptoms and conditions

I started NuvaRing 10/25, I wanted a birth control that could regulate my periods and was something I wouldn't forget to take. The first two days were fine, even though I didn't have much of an appetite.Then by the third day I woke up with horrible pains in my bladder/anal area.Keep in mind through out all of this I was getting chest pains (which just may have been from stress) and was not sleeping well at all. So last night I couldn't fall asleep until 2am, woke up every hour with nausea and chest pains and my left arm ache. I took the ring out around 5am and by 8am I puked. If my symptoms don't in prove I will call my Gyno. NuvaRing: great idea, rough side effects, and not for me.

today is my first day off doxycycline. i was prescribed 100mg twice a day for 14 days for lyme disease which it got rid of. i already had some nausea and fatigue from the lyme , but this drug is wicked. while taking the drug i have had heartburn even with the glass of water, extreme nausea( lost 6 pounds in a week and a half) having to force myself to eat, depression with spells of wanting to cry and not wanting to go out and be active or talk to anyone which is unusual for me, and no appetite at all , seeing this site is a big relief for me , but how long does it take to make these side effects go away ( that the doctor says rarely happen) and any suggestions for helping them go away?

im 15 and i have to take the pill cuz i would never get my period for months and i was always doing pregnancy test, this is my first day on the pill nd i just feel so down and dizzy, i have no appetite at all nd before the pill my dad makes me eat cuz im already skinny bt im scared hes going to like put me in the hospital nd make me gain weight, ima see how the pill trats me for the first month. Also i just got sleepy all of a sudden and my blood pressure is going up and down like crazy!!!

I have cancer, and am on chemo, my doctor prescribed budeprion xl 300mg (not my oncologist) I am completely dehydrated and just horrible !! should I discontinue the budeprion. I have had fluid infusions each of the last to days. I have a dry mouth and no appetite

I love Quasense. I have been on it for about a year and a half. For the first year, I took it for the 3 month, would have a very short period for the placebo week and I had no breakthrough bleeding. My gynecologist told me I could skip the placebo week and start the new pack to avoid having a period at all. Every once in a while I will have spotting when I start the next pack after not taking the placebo, but its very light. Other than that, I have not gained any weight, my appetite is the same, I don't have nausea. I don't have any cramping, I don't have mood swings, it improved my acne. Other birth controls I have taken in the past has made me gain weight, or given my acne or made me nausea. I love this stuff.

I have Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA), was diagnosed in Feb. 2008. Have been ill for several years and finally it came to a head in Feb. I had a blood transfusion and then in the hospital 6 days later with a hgb of 4.0. I was so toxic and my blood so screwed up I nearly died. I was given another transfusion then (total of 5 pints of packed red blood cells) and started on Prednisone. For 3 days given liquid Pred injections, starting at 1000mg, tapering down to 250mg., then on the pill form at 100mg. Sweat poured off of me dosing down. I was off work for 2 months. I am still tapering but am now at 1mg. DR. added another drug, Danazol, after getting to about 10mg because my blood started going crazy again. My side affects with Prednisone have been, Euphoria, no depression, LOTS of hyper brain activity, thoughts running a 100 miles an hour but body at slow speed.Visual problems and a feeling of being highly drugged. 2 to 3 hours of sleep each night, compulsive behaviors and a lot of pacing back and forth. Couldn't hold my concentration because my mind wandered so much. Extreme Tremors in my back, hands and head. Wanted to talk constantly, if no one was around I talked to my Chihuahua or the TV. My cheeks puffed up and became hard and had a fat pocket puffed up on left side of my neck. My dog thought I was crazy, she was tired of the lights being on at 3 or 4 in the morning. Legs looked skinny but didn't gain weight until I got to about 60mg. Gained 25 lbs total. Tapering caused bad spasms in my calves, feet and hands. Thigh muscles would get extremely weak each time I went down a dose. At 50mg I started getting sleepy and could hardly stay awake. Went back to work at 35mg and couldn't remember how to sign on to my computer. Some memory problems since I was in the hospital, couldn't remember how to spell words I knew as a young girl. Started having hip pain about 3 months into the Pred, that hasn't stopped. At 10mg feet, knees, shoulders hurt deep in the sockets, muscles below my neck knot up, may take a while to totally get off this. Read on a couple of blogs where people cut a 1mg tab into 4 pieces to taper off the Pred. because of side effects. Had thrush in the beginning and break outs of shingles. I hope to God I never have to get back on this drug again, it is so HARD on the body but it did do what it was given for, to repress my immune systems. My next step is Spleen surgery, hope this is a cure for me, am sick and tired of being sick and tired. Wouldn't advise anyone to take Pred unless it's a life or death situation. It's prescribed too liberally and people have multiple problems, worse than I have experienced. I've probably forgotten some things, but there's enough I've mentioned to give you an Idea it's not good, but if Pred is all you have then you do what you gotta do!! My puffy cheeks have went down though, now my hair has become curly but at least I have hair and my chihuahua stills loves me!!!

(EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS) I started taking YAZ two and half months ago and everything started out O.K. Then after missing one pill, I started having the worst cramps I've ever had in my entire life. I kept taking my pills on time in hopes of stopping the period and cramps but instead while I was bathing a Huge Fleshy Mass came out of me followed by several blood clots. My husband immediately put the mass in a sealed bag and put it in the refrigerator. I took it it in to see a specialist which claimed it probably was some weird side effect to YAZ causing my Uterine Wall to shed. He also admitted the pill hasn't been out long enough to study all the potential side effects. He suggested I finish out my supply and switch to another type of birth control pill. Yesterday I just started my period again, prematurely, and my cramps are again unbearable...I'm dead tired and moody and hope I'm not passing another mass...and I've made it up in my mind to throw away this year supply of YAZ and suggest anyone taking it with harsh side effects to do the same. REMEMBER LADIES THE RECALL ON THE PATCH THAT MADE SO MANY WOMEN VERY SICK??? DON'T BE A GUINEA PIG AND END UP NOT BEING ABLE TO GET PREGNANT. I just posted a few days ago but need to update. I just started the 4th pack. I Had normal period(slightly longer than when I'm off birth control. on the brown pills third pack and no break through bleed or spotting. But my breast are extremely tender which didn't end with the end of my period. I'm extremely fatigued but have sleepless restless nights. i've developed rashes in the creases of my breast. Not fun. My sex drive has gone down and so has any feeling during sex. My poor husband doesn't understand. I'm moody. I have no appetite but am slowly gaining weight. Crappy pill. I just keep sticking it out because although my husband and I would someday like to have kids, today is not the day as we are both still students. I'll give it till the end of the month and then maybe I'll switch to a new pill.

i was recently in the hospital they gave me toradol and now two days later my arms and legs are in very bad pain i have on and off headaches and i am so tired but cannot sleep. i took some ibuprofen and that did not help i have lost my appetite and i have yellow color to my skin now i have tried on the internet to get help right now and have found no relief i do not have the money to go back to the hospital so if any one has any help my name is Nicole my e mail address is ****** please help if you have any information.

My husband is suffering from a back injury, He has been prescribed, Soma, Zanaflex and Meprozine. Since being on these meds his moods have changed. He has become irritable, depressed, short tempered and very argumentative. He is not the man I married while he is on these meds and when he doesn't take them he is ok for a while but then is like some one on drugs who needs their next fix. I am very concerned for my husband and my family because he has started taking yelling at my daughter for stupid kid stuff and arguing and yelling at me about small stupid things like whether a valve was open under the kitchen sink. He has had a migraine for 3 weeks now... his appetite has decreased... he has been having weird dreams and twitching in his sleep.. He has also experienced dizziness, insomnia, restlessness and irritability. There are other side effects... I do not recommend these medications at all especially together....

I posted on here a few weeks ago complaining about my excessive hair loss to the point of seeing through my hair. I went to my obgyn after reading this forum. He said he is not surprised....that anything containing progestin causes hair loss. Also any traumatic experience....to expect hair loss to start from 3-6 months post trauma....I had a baby, a mirena, marital separation, and 2 d&c, along with a bad delivery and severe blood loss, ALL in a matter of 4 weeks. So, it could be all or one....either way he was not scoffing at my claim of the mirena being the culprit of the hair loss. We agreed to give it a few weeks and see if the loss slowed, if not I will return to have it removed......I also put on a quick 10+ ponds which I am not happy about, but my appetite is raging. I am still breastfeeding too, so I don't know which one is the cause. I also lost hair and gained weight last baby....so who knows. I will keep everyone posted.

I am so glad I am not alone. I started this horrible drug 2 months ago for bipolar. Started with the starter pack. I was up to 100mg when I really started feeling ill. I had BAD leg pain. Joint pain,back pain, all the time. I had a never ending appitite and gained 12 pounds in 2 months. All my labs were normal and my primary doctor looked up the side affects and immediatly took me off of Lamictal. I have to admit though my depression got better but my body hurt so bad I almost lost my job due to not being able to walk as the pain was so bad.It has been only one day of being off lamictal and the pain is still unbearable. My doctor says it will take a good 5 days to feel relief. God help us ! This was a horrible experience for me and I feel for all who have used this for bipolar.

I have been on topamax for one week tomorrow! I will be increasing my dose to 50 mg in the morning *can't sleep when I take it at night* The first day I was sick as a dog no appitite at all, spaced out etc! My Dr. put me on it to loose weigt, im 104 pnds over weight and I suffer from depression. My appetite has shrunk and I have lost 4 pnds in six days. I'm happy with that at this rate i'll be where I need to be at in 6-8 months. :) I recommend that you DRINK DRINK DRINK AND DRINK WATER!!!!! and MAKE YOURSELF EAT! even when your not hungry because you will feel sick if you don't! Learned that the hard way. When I take my pill in the moring it's with 20-30 ounces of water! You have to chug it down. Please people before you say the drug doesn't work follow the instructions which is to "drink plenty of fluids" water.

I have been on the aciphex for approx. 2 mos. I have had headaches all the time. I have loose BM all morning long. I've had terrible anxiety. My stomach has been cramping and feel the need to vommit all day. No appitite either. I'm going to stop the med and see if I feel better.

About 1 week after having the ring I started having unbearable cramping and stomach achs, no urge to have sex and my appitite has depressed. I just can't eat it upsets my stomach. I have 1 more week to go for the three weeks, but after reading these I don't think I'm even giving it that.

i was on predisone twice within the last six months because of a flare with chrons disease. i got really sick and was put on 40mg of prednisone twice a day. it made me feel much better, but the side effects sucked.

i had extreme moodiness and overreact to everything. i found myself constantly crying over nothing and got depressed very easily. i had alot of trouble sleeping, got really bad leg cramps. my appitite was insane. im constantly hungry and just feel like i need to eat and eat. i gained 15 pounds both times i was on it. my face gets so puffy. the fat that i gained is in my stomach and a weird texture. i also gained weight in my legs and have strech marks at the top. it took me about 3 months to get back to my normal weight. and then i got sick again and am currently dealing with it all again.

i hate predisone and to anyone going on it i recomend caring ALOT about what you eat because gaining that much weight sucks. also drink alot of water.

drinking water after you go off prednisone is supposed to drain your system of it and make the side effects go away quicker.

hello, was on lisinopril for about the first 3 weeks of 2007 and had bad stomach problems and could not uriniate, felt like my bladder was full. i thought i had prostrate problems, went back to doc, said it was probably a urinary infection. gave me cipro and said it would clear up in a couple of days, got worse. found this site on jan 20 and quit taking lisinopril that day. after 3-4 days i could uriniate again. doc then gave me atenolol and took it for about 10 days, have had a wierd kind of sore throat and sore around adams apple, feels like something hung in my throat and my appitite is nothing like it used to be, not hungry, and not sleeping worth a darn. anybody know how long these side effects last. driving me and my wife crazy. also hoarseness in throat and voice. i sure am glad to find this site. tommy p.s, am sure symptoms were before taking atenolol.

I was on Paxil, 20mg then 30mg for about 2 years. My doctor took me off of it slowly, because he knew of the awful withdrawl effects. It took a month of tapering it off, and I still had withdrawl effects: Terrible dizziness, twitching of my legs and arms, itchyness of my feet when I tried to sleep, cold sweats, hot flashes, no appitite, and most scary of all was the nystagmus (uncontrollable jerks of the eye in horizontal directions when you move your eyes or head). My doctor said that not many people have this symptom, but that it was caused by the Paxil withdrawl. If anyone has jerky eyes they can't control while coming off paxil, mail me at ****** and I can tell you more, maybe reassure you that it will get better.
Long story short, about 2 weeks after coming off the last few milligrams of Paxil and everything (even the nystagmus) is gone.

have Lupus (SLE) I have been on and off of prednisone since i was 13 yrs old and I am now 36. I have gained wieght that i can not seem to lose even though i barley eat anything due to the SLE it has taken my appitite away. several years ago i had cronic diaherria and went down to 80lbs It was either die or take the prednisone. Now iam about 200lbs which i usually wiegh 115 throughout most of my life. Now i have no energy I am in pain all the time I now am having tics in my upper and lower body, i have problems with being able to eat now i have lost teeth and the others are not doing well either.
isnt there somthing that we can do about the wieght gain and the effects that it has on our bodys. regular diet pills do not work because i dont over eat. the wieght has really done a number on the rest of my body. I am in constent pain!

I am 16 years old and have had an undiagnosed stomach econdition for about 4 years. my Stomache pain recently flaired up and i was admitted to the hospital for 6 weeks. My Doctor prescribed 40mgs of Prednisone per day. I am currently 3 weeks in and have had alot of trouble with the side effects. The side effect that is causing me the most discomfort is lack of sleep. in the last 3 weeks i have considered myself lucky to get an hour of sleep a night. another problen i've had is losing the will to exercise, before starting prednisone i was going to the gym religiously every day. i am still goin atleast every second day but i have to force and drag myseld to go. My appitite has increased and i am easily angered by anyone for small things. I have been having mild Acne problems on my shoulders and back and have had mild muscle soreness. My last side effect is full body shaking that is extremely hard to control. I can't wait to get off this stuff and hope the side effects stop immediately.

Abdominal pains occuring often, a loss in appitite, occasional headache and sleepiness,

started taking it for a possible infection. 5 days later I have hives/rash all over. hot/cold chills. no appitite, nausia. I stopped taking it today, will see doc tomorrow.

I have been prescribed 20 sulfaameth/trimneth for an injury to my hand. On the second day of usage I developed what seemed like jock itch! I got progressively worse and I visited my dermatologist who was baffeled untill I mentioned the sulfameth. He was familliar with the rashes caused by the drug and instructed me to stop taking it, which I already had. Its been two days and it still has yet to subside completely. I also, had a ravenous appitite which has decreased as well, thankfully.

All I have to say is I have been off Yasmin for 2 months now and I have never felt better! During the 8 month period of being on Yasmin these were my side affects....Bloated all the time, restlessness, insomnia,irritable,crying ALL THE TIME for no reason, depression, increase appitite, major mood swings, suicidle thoughts,difficulty making decsions,panic attacks, anxiety, tender breasts,headaches my life was miserable and I had no idea Yasmin was the cause until i Stopped taking it and i felt like a million dollars!!!!! I stoppped taking it by accident i left my pack at home when I went on vacation and had no choice but to start over , Thank God I forgot them I would have never stopped taking them! Everything Happens for a Reason! And I will never take hormones again!

I have a host of side affects to acknowledge. First the teeth clenching in an issue, it is messing my bite up. Second loose bowels and occasional diarhea. I can deal with the lack of sexual appitite but my girlfriend thinks I don't like her, she starts calling me a fag!
Worse of all I am lacking the aggressiveness towards life and personal accomplishments, I fear that I will turn out a broke but happy man. I walk around being somewhat tired and carefree about life, bills and just about everything.
I don't pick arguements with my girlfriend and overall Zoloft has been great but, I am concerned with being a happy loser!
