Arm numbness symptoms and conditions

My experience with Lisinopril is brutal! I'm 37 years old and was prescribed this drug for high blood pressure. After 2 yrs. on a 10 mg. dose per day I started having numbness in both of my arms I also had sharp pain shooting down both arms at night to the point where I couldn't sleep.And when I did fall asleep I would just wake up an hour later in tremendous pain. Ive been to three doctors. They tested me for carpal tunnal and told me I had it. But didn't schedule any plan of action, so I thought with some rest it would go away but it didn't It got worse. Then I started to have severe back pain that went clear through to my So the doctor wanted me to get an ultrasound of my testicles to check for testicular cancer. The test was negative. Since the pain was on the right side in my lower ribcage area they then thought it may be my kidneys. They then sent me to a urologist who wanted to go up my penis to scope my bladder with a camera and check for bladder cancer. Which turned out to be a very very painful experience. There was nothing wrong he said. During this time the pain was as bad as ever. Then they wanted to do exploritory kidney surgery on my right kidney. I was thinking my god am I gonna die.....I went through the surgery and the doctor said there was nothing wrong.I could not believe I was in this much pain and they couldn't find anything wrong. I thought I was dying for real. Then I decided to go on web md and try to find out anything that it could possibly be. I couldn't find anything with all the symptoms that made any seance. A few months went by with no relief... I decided one day to google my medication (Lisinopril) and joint pain, w/ arm numbness well. This site popped up and I started reading and Im glad I did. I believe that for the past year that I thought I was dying and no one could tell me why is because of this toxic poisons pill Ive been taking for two years is the reason for all of it. Ive spent thousands of dollars, had two surgery's ,went through all this pain all because of a little poison pill for blood pressure. I have flushed my pills and I,m never taking the drug again. I warn anyone who has high blood pressure if your doctor mentions the word Lisinopril tell them no!!!!!!!!! It is poison for the body.I believe it would killed me if I hadn't stopped taking it and not one doctor mentioned it may be the pill I was taking everyday for my blood pressure.

I'm experiencing some VERY concerning symptoms and have a feeling it might be from the Mirena. And my doctors think it's just stress! SOMEBODY HELP!

I had a baby 4 months ago and at my postpardom appointment I was talked into getting the Mirena. After I had it inserted it all started with severe cramping and light bleeding that still has not subsided. I have been suffering with chronic headaches, dizziness, and facial numbness. I've also had bouts of anxiety and leg cramping and recently starting to have pain in my neck and one of my lymph nodes on my left side has become present and tender to the touch.

I mentioned all the these symptoms to my OB/GYN and he said "it's NOT related to the Mirena, go to your Primary Care Dr. and get some tests done" Well, I did that, got a full CBC and had my thyroid checked and all of my blood work came back normal. My Dr. said I am stressed after having the baby and to get some rest. I really wanted to have a CT done but after reading this I am beginning to think it's the Mirena as I had not had any of these symptoms prior to the IUD. I think i'll make an appointment to have it removed.

Anyone ot there have any of my exact same symptoms???

My husband started on Lisinopril - 6/11/08. He also takes Coreg generic. He also takes Crestor. However, before taking Lisinopril, he had a persistent cough dating back to March. He was placed in prednisone for five days - 6/14/08. He has had chest pain, numbing of different sections of his legs, arm numbness. But, today, he threatened to attack me with a remote control and wished a tv to fall on my head.
This is psychotic behavior. Has anyone else experienced violent eposides and incoherant moments?

I have been having the same problems for about two months. Heart palpitations, chest pain, left arm numbness, spouts of rapid heart beat (up to 150 beats a minute) while laying in bed. Other things that I have started putting with this is I broke out in hives several months ago, I had yeast infections every month for a year, I have had dark hair pop up on my face that was never there before. I have been to the ER many times, I have had an EKG, the whole blood work done, chest x-ray, stress test, and a holter monitor. They did catch PVCs and a few other irregular heat beats on the monitor and EKG but no one seems concerned about. I have been at my wits in and like you felt like a horrible mom and wife. Not hardly any to function. I finally thought to look up IUD and heart palpitations and BOOM....there was pages and pages of women talking about this. I am relieved in some ways but still not convinced! I just don't know if it could actually cause PVCs or other irregular heart beats but I guess it could. I hope this was the problem. I got the IUD out last Friday and I seem to feel a little better each day, although last night I did have another attack of racing heart-147 bpm. I'm 27 years old, with not family history of heart problems, I am thin, I have low resting pulse and have always had low blood pressure. I guess the IUD makes more sense than a heart problem. It's just very scary when you have two small children at home and you're afraid you might not wake up the next day! I have never been a fearful person, I am very laid back so when the docs kept throwing the anxiety and stress thing at me, it REALLY didn't make sense! I have been under way more stress several years ago than I am now and this has never happened. I have had the IUD for two years. I have researched hormone imbalance and it does add up to the same. I think it's possible for the IUD to malfunction and instead of squirting out a small amount of the hormone daily it could be giving way to much which gives us a hormone imbalance. I have been taking lisinopril for four days and that four days too many. I started taking these pill on Monday. Tuesday i went to the ER because i thought i was having a stroke. I was having chest pains and my left arm went numb. I had just had an EEG, EKG, a Cat Scan and a stress test. Each one showed my heart was fine. ER doc's could not fine anything wrong, so i went home and took my next dose as scheduled. I kept experiencing these chest pain/arm numbness off and on all day Wed. That night i could not sleep because the symptoms are worse when you lay down. I went to doctor on Thursday and described my symptoms. She thought it was strange that I was having continuous pain, so she scheduled me an appointment with a cardiologist. Today (Friday) i kept trying to figure out what had changed that would cause these pains/numbness. I started reading the literature that comes from pharmacist. Low & behold chest pains was listed as a side effect. I have decided to stop taking this medicine with the hope these pains/numbness will go away.

I have been experiencing a lot of numbness in my arms and hands over the last few months. I ignored it for awhile but decided I definitely should speak to my doctor about it so I am going this afternoon. It only just dawned on me a few days ago that the numbness might be related to the NuvaRing. I think I have been on it about 5 months.

Has anyone else experienced numbness in their arms and hands?

I was on it the NR for about two months, the first time we had sex, there was a weird burning sensation, so I talked to my doctor, she said, it was weird, but not worry about it!
Ladies pay attention to your body, we know it better than the doctors!
I now have experienced......................
1. Sharp leg pains, on the left side.
2. Stabbing headaches.
3. Unusual bleeding.
4. Scalp soreness.
5.Arm numbness.
6. Breathing problems.
7. And mood swings that made me think I was crazy!!!!

I have now taken it out, feel like it probbably could have killed me,
Didn't have a good feeling about it, and will now probbably get tests done, this needs to be heard about.
Anyone can talk to me about it.

I just had Mirena inserted sept 12 ( 2 weeks ago)-had major cramping and discomfort-but basically went well. Since then i've had the "normal" cramping, pain, and nonstop bleeding. I've had major mood swings and irritability (not the norm for me!)-- and more pressing heart palpitations, arm numbness, insomnia (although im extremely tired--2 month old come on!) The scariest thing is yesterday morning i was lying in bed and my head began spinning--and i was extremely nauseous--and vomiting all day-im still extremely dizzy and can barely get out of bed still!!!!! All this within such a short amount of time....I called my ob/gyn--and am waiting for the callback..i even took a pregnancy test bc I felt as awful as i did when first pregnant! Man im glad my hubby found this site (he was searching to see if mirena causes such symptoms) at least i see other women are experiencing such crazy and similar symptoms as well...ive got to get this thing out-and im not takin no for an answer! -i feel soooo awful ...this dizziness is crazy....comments anyone??

Injections of Kenalog done via x ray machine, 3 times in a period of 2 months and trigger point injections with Kenalog done once after the second one did not work. Felt great after the first one, lasted for 4 weeks. Had another one done (second one) for the same problem, L5-SI (spinal fusion with rods and cages 7 years ago, developed sciata 4 months ago and pain doctor said the Kenalog shots were needed so I took her advice.
Needless to say, I was not informed of the warnings. I have been in bed now for 4 weeks, have no energy, feel dizzy and disorientated. Cannot even walk down the street without feeling like collapsing, hip pain and leg movement is deterioting and I am scared. Feel sick all of the time, cannot do laundry or dishes, feel so depressed as a result of these shots. Arm numbness and loss of motion, tingling in my fingers, burning pain in buttocks, down leg, and calf and down to foot. Also having muscle spasms in my left arm.
Never again will I do this. I will be speaking with my pain doctor next week and will inform her that these shots made me worse.
Thanks for listening to me, I need to go to bed again. I was such an active person before all of these shots were given to me. I feel so sad all the time and crying too often when I should be happy. I am a 47 year old female.

I am an otherwise healthy 38 yr/old male. I was taking Levaquin (500 mg/day) for possible prostatitis. Within 72 hours, began feeling numbness in my left foot, leg, and arm. Was traveling for the holiday, and during air flight my leg felt as if it was developing an internal pressure. As I can nearly describe it, it felt as if someone had connected a bicycle tire pump to my leg and was steadily inflating it. Was nearly convinced that I was having a stroke, until I began to suspect the Levaquin. I was unable to reach my physician, who was also traveling for the holiday. After my 5th dose, I elected to discontinue taking the levaquin. On that day, I developed pain in my left calf. Later, the pain also developed in the hamstring area. After a fitful night, the pain began to subside into a dull fatigue (now ~24 hours since last dose). The fatigue and numbness remained at that level for another 24 hours. Finally, by the 3rd day following my last dose, the fatigue and numbness began to fade. On the fourth day, the fatigue was gone, though a slight numbness persisted, though only in my leg (arm numbness was gone). Travel on that same day went fine (no sensation of pressure). Today (fifth day since last dose), just a slight numbness in my lower left leg.

About a week ago I woke up with some kind of bug bites on my foot. Over the course of that week I scratched them so much while I was sleeping that they became infected. My left foor swelled so much that I could not even bend my toes. I decided it was time to seek medical attention. I went to the ER and he told me that the infection in my foot was spreading up my leg and decided to put me on an anitbiotic (levaquin) and pain killer (motrin). I made him aware that my doctor had advised me not to take any medications because I was awaiting having tests done because my primary doctor thought I was having mini strokes (I am 27 years old). The doctor told me that the meds he would be putting me on would have no effect on those tests or the symptoms I was having. I was given one does of both the levaquin and motrin before I left the hospital because all pharmacies were closed at that time.

I attempted to go to bed about an hour after I got home. I had severe chest and stomache pains, became very hot, had dry mouth and a metalic taste in my mouth. Also, almost immediately had knee pain, arm numbness and felt very light headed. I was not sure if it was a side effect from the levaqin, the motrin or a combo of the two and decided to do some research. I did not like what I read and I will never take this medication again. I thought medications were supposed to help you. I am already having health issues that someone my age should not be dealing with and am starting to wonder if that ER doctor was trying to kill me, and last night, trust me, I wish someone would have to put me out of my mysery.

I was prescribed methylpred for a severe poison ivy/sumac rash, with intense itching. It didn't work that well on the rash, but two side affects are wonderful....I feel reenergized and can exist happily on less sleep. And the unexplained hand/arm numbness I've had for a few years, has disappeared.
It's interesting to read everyone's comments, with contrasting side effects, and various reasons for their prescription.

Does no one have a great number of side effects form Alesse? My doctor switched me to Yasmin (which I haven't yet started because I had a few packs of Alesse remaining) because I complained about moodiness/crankiness that is so sudden and abrupt that I just know it has to be hormonal).

After researching Yasmin, I see that many people have sooo many complaints about it, yet they are the same complaints that I have with Alesse (which I hadn't realized it was causing until I made the connection with the other BCP). i.e, leg/arm numbness, extremely dry flaky skin, severe mood swings, tiredness, gas, heartburn, sleeplessness, the list goes on and on and if you look under the Yasmin board it will list just about everything I have trouble with on Alesse.

Is everyone REALLY all that happy with Alesse?

I am going to try Yasmin. I am basically only on BCP to regulate my periods (which can be very heavy and very unpredictable) so I will go off of it if I continue to have such horrific symptoms.
