I started taking this drug about a year ago, for high cholesterol, I experienced muscle pain, night sweats, and fatigue, I did not associate it to the drug, I am on a cane I thought that was the reason for the arm pain and the other symptoms to menopause. It eventually stopped, but would return. We went on vacation and I forgot my meds and everything subsided, I started taking the Simvastatin when I returned home and my night sweats, fatigue and muscle pain returned. That is when I decided to look it up on line and found this site. I am going to stop taking it for now and see my doctor next week. Thanks for all the info.

Just found this blog. I was on 10 mg Lisinopril for a few weeks for moderate BP. After about 2 weeks I started getting muscle aches cramping at night in legs and arms. I am also in physical therapy for ankle tendinitis. Thought pains were from that but they did not go away and my arm pain continued through day. I never had arm cramps before. I told my Dr and they said they had not heard of this reaction to the med but said go off of it for 5 days and then back onto see what happens. I stayed off for 2 weeks. BP started to creep up again. I had in the meantime decided to start breathing meditation to see if I could go a more natural way. I have only done breathing techniques for a week so decided because BP was gong up would try taking 1/2 dose of Lisinopril one am at 5 mg. I was ok till later in evening, pretty wiped out. I thought that was no big deal. But when I got up next am and took another 5 mg, I had diarrhea and kept peeing all day. I am not on the diuretic version of this. It was like my kidneys went overdrive. I could hardly move my legs and arms, VERY weak muscles, very sleepy and the cramping was starting to come back , though not as severe as before. I also have palpation and pain in left chest, seeming more like nerves than heart though. I usually push my physical therapy and can do anything they say but could hardly do anything and therapist said quits and told me to call doctor asap. I left them message on their phone with symptoms and have not heard back from them today but I am not taking this med again in the am!

I am 40 and done having kids. I had the Mirena put in in Jan 2008 to help with heavy periods. Within 3 months I started to feel numbness in my left arm. It would come and go over the next couple of months. Then the numbness and burning spread to my left breast. I developed a breast lump in Nov.08 which was determined to be thickening of the breast tissue (through mammogram and ultrasound) The breast continued to be very sensitive and the arm pain became worse. In March Through a pelvic ultrasound 2 "tumors" were discovered on my left ovary. The doctor wanted to remove only the ovary. Once in the operating room he decided to do a complete hysterectomy. The tumor was a benign blood fill cyst witch burst and also endometriosis was bad enough to remove everything including the Mirena!! Its been two months now and the numbness and burning are still there! I am going to a neurologist to see what is going on. I always felt like the Mirena had something to do with all of this. Maybe I have irreversible nerve damage?

I am 39 and have had true migraine attacks since I was a child. I say true migraine attacks because they are different then just a bad headache! The pain, throwing up, dry heaves and weird aura are "hell on earth!" I have noticed that if my headache isn't a true migraine and I take the Imitrex, the side affect are ten times worse! Reading a lot of the messages on this site makes me wonder if doctors are prescribing it for the common bad headaches! There are side effects either way but much worse if the headache is not a true migraine. My side effects have been neck pressure, sleepiness, queasiness, and very sore arm pain. But it is not worse than the migraine so I take it when needed. I do not recommend cutting this pill in half! God Bless the migraine sufferers! I know how the torture feels!

I have had the mirena in for about 17 months. The first 10 months I was nursing and didn't think much of it. The last 7 months I have been a little depressed. Just recently, I have had tingling in my hands and feet and lower back pain. I have been treated by my MD who I love for a pinched nerve. He has done complete x-rays and back/spine MRI and everything has come back fine. I am a healthy 35 year old who wonders if it could be the Mirena causing my symptoms?? Just interested is anyone feeling the same?? Please respond :)
I have read so many experiences on this website and I have an apt. next week to get it OUT!

Been reading everyone's postings and now I'm scared. I currently am on Vytorin 10/80 and today the doctor added Welchol. I just had and ACL replacement surgery 4 weeks ago and my leg aches anyhow. I can't remember a time I have not had back pain, and I have arthritis in my joints and neuropathy in my feet. Any yeahs or nahs out there for you experienced ones? Is it worth taking, do you assume all my current pains will only get worse?????

I ran across this post as when I got really sick renovating a house I ended up a neurologist who recommended lamictal and that I was bipolar. My symptoms were bad neurological defect inability to concentrate intense burning headache, muscle aches, neurological pain in my arms and general stiffness and fatigue with twitching muscles, heart arrhythmia and anxiety. I couldn't understand how all of a sudden I had become bipolar however was under an extreme amount of stress (living in a half torn apart moldy house with no heat while serving as my own contractor under 300K of debt with no job as my arm pain interfered with my computer consulting practice ). I tried taking anti-depressants. My headaches got much worse and I turned a pale whitish yellow and developed fatty lumps under my skin called lypomas (wellbutrin) my friends (later) said I look like a cadaver. I felt like my symptoms did not match what was generally diagnosed as depression or bipolar but my regular doctor and neurologist insisted that I was depressed in some form or another. After another year or so of being really ill and trying different AD meds and finding no way out I was getting pretty desperate. I heard of a plce in Hawaii that a friend recommended cleans and unbllocks your interal organs using nothing but water. As a scientist and engineer and builder I was skeptical but felt like something like that might be the best path - it was a shot in the dark. I sold the house and dropped $5K on the treatment and trip to the big island It was like being let out of a cage my body turned from yellowish white to pink and healthy looking in less than 5 days. I dropped 20 lbs of the unrecognizable stuff out of my colon and liver. I believe I had a problem with cholestasis - stagnant liver bile that solidifies when you work too hard without drinking enough water causing bad digestion and absorption of nutrients leading to all sorts of problems incldung toxic liver and portal hypertension and jaundice. It's now two years later. The only thing that is wrong with me now is a small amount of fatigue and irritation in my frontal lobe when I work long hours at the computer. I continue the cleasing process and may go back. Contact me if you might be interested in the details. Drugs may be helpful to some and I may try an antidepressant to get me over the top but if you start medicating while your organs are not working well due to a lifetime of bad eating and lack of exercise ( or in my case working physically to exhaustion and then ordering out pizza and eating on the run for months on end) you might want to try another way. Oh and I'm not bipolar. Lamictal taken in the state of health I was in would probably have killed me. I'm now 41 and have a new life to look forward to and a whole lot wiser. There's a book called the amazing liver and gallbladder flush. It's the real deal.

so, I was prescribed Avelox a week ago to clear up an infection caused by a ruptured ovarian cyst. I went on-line tonight because each night since I've started the medicine, I sleep less. I have turned into a total insomniac. I remembered the name AVELOX when my doctor prescribed it but I couldn't remember if I had any issues with it when I took it last, or when I even took it last. After reading your posts...it came back to me. About a year and half ago, I was prescribed Avelox for a kidney infection. Within a couple of days after taking the medicine, my right arm became completely inmobile and it was painful to even try to move it. I also had terrible abdominal pain. I went to the ER, only to have them ask me if my "home life was OK" or was I "depressed". They checked for the kidney infection but found no trace of one. I left the ER with no diagnosis...except they thought I was crazy. Gradually, after a week on Avelox, my arm pain went away but the abdominal and lower back pain became so bad that my doctor admitted me into the hospital. He feared the kidney infection (which the ER couldn't find) had gotten very bad. I was there for 3 days and they couldn't find anything wrong with me.They again couldn't even find any trace of a kidney infection. I was not eating, not sleeping, feeling constantly sick to my stomach and dizzy...and the abdominal and lower back pain was incredible. The doctors again were talking to me like I was a crazy person. They couldn't find one thing wrong besides a little dehydration.
I stopped the Avelox while in the hospital after no kidney infection was found. After a few days off the medicine I gradually felt better. Two days after leaving the hospital my doctor called and said that one of the tests they did said I could have possibly been exposed to Mono, so they chalked the who experience to being a possible case of Mono. That never made sense to me...but after reading your experiences, I'm sure it was the medicine. Now after remembering that I had taken this medicine before, I also remember sitting in the hospital drinking coffee! The prescription on the bottle I got last week reads "avoid caffeine". I know I drank coffee when I was on it before and I don't recall any warning about caffeine with Avelox last time. That said, I tried drinking a little coffee the 2nd day I was on it this time (I need my coffee, even though it said no caffeine). I was sooo jumpy, hands shaking, heart racing and lightheaded - like you feel if you drink many cups of coffee with no food - but I had only had a couple of sips. I haven't had any coffee for the rest of the days I had been on the medicine and I haven't felt that way again. I have also been drinking tons of water because the Avelox is making me so damn thirsty. My hands, lips and even my eyes are dry. The issue I am having with Avelox this round is flushes. One minute I'm fine, the next I'm flushed and my face is hot like I was running a marathon, but I was sitting still. Maybe with no caffeine and tons of water, you might feel better while you are waiting for this Avelox poison to get out of your system. Hope that helps. I'm going back to not sleeping...(It's 1:30 am ~aaarrrggghhh)

I've been on Doxy now for about 6 days for severe acne and haven't had any really bad side effects. I have experienced some nausea and learned very quickly how to take it. I was wondering if anyone experienced any arm pain while sleeping and especially after waking up. I've been waking up and my elbows, lower arms and hands just ache to high heaven. This is the only thing I've changed and I don't sleep on my arms.

I cannot believe that I have been using NuvaRing for such a long time and Torturing my body. I am 25 years old mother of two, I have been using it for about 2 years now and for the last 1 1/2 year I have been suffering from constant chest pain, anxiety, panic attacks, lost of breath, depression. I can seriously tell you that as of today I am removing the NuvaRing and every chance I get to explain to people the harm this thing can do I WILL. I hope that once I remove it I can live my life like a normal person....

Diagnosed with MRSA on my right leg 2 months ago, was prescribed Bactrim(2 a day for 7 days) and didn't have any major side-effects. I now have MRSA again and have been prescribed a higher dosage of Bactrim and have some possible side-effects as well. As noted by others, I can not sleep (as is evident by this posting time, if its EST), but I am exhausted! Also, I have occasional shooting pain down my right arm and my fingers on my right hand are numb. This usually occurs while I'm lying down.
Not sure if these are directly related to the Bactrim, but thought I'd post in case anyone else has had something similar. Seems not too much out there regarding the arm pain (as I try to self-diagnose in the middle of the night :) ).

I am a 45 yr old female and I have been on Vytorin for about 2 yrs or so for my cholesterol problems. Was on Lipitor before that and was getting leg pain so I stopped taking it. When blood work time came around it was still up so my doc put me on Vytorin. I have noticed that I feel like I'm dying. I have severe neck, back and arm pain, cold and hot attacks, can't sleep, chest pain, blurred vision, sudden stomach cramps, nausea, throat and ear aches, and bad stomach problems. I have had heart cath, ekgs, endoscopy, blood work and everything keeps coming back normal. Matter of fact, I went to the heart doc today and he put me on a 24 hour monitor and for low heart rate that has gradually gotten worse over the past few months. He even mentioned a pace maker. I don't even want to start about the depression and anxiety attacks that I have. They are AWFUL. But the more blogs that I have read, I think I know where the problem may lye. The Vytorin, so as of tonight I will NOT take another one..I just hope that there is no permanent damage done as far as my liver. I hope you all the best and I will let you know how I start to feel in the next few days...

I just went to the Dr. for my second Lupron injection and to get some help with the side effects. Menopausal/emotional me, started crying!!! Gawd! I went in with my list of side effects from the last 3 months (and it was long!) and wondered what was worse, the pain of endometriosis or the life changing side effects of Lupron. My Dr. is wonderful and spent an hour with me; he decided to put me on Provera (progesterone or add-back therapy) for a week to see if the side effects improve. If they do, I get my second dose of Lupron in a week. If not, we stop it all and let my body slowly try to get back to normal (although I have never known what "normal" is since endometriosis) and see how the "therapy" worked. He is strongly encouraging me to follow through with the 6 month course as that is the recommended length of time for the best results. I'm 5'8" and have lost 10 lbs. in the last three months, I'm down to 107 lbs. He told me to try and eat more if I could (although my nausea is constant 24hrs. a day) and make sure to take a daily vitamin and calcium for bone loss. He said that he has never heard of blurred vision to be a side effect of Lupron, "But every woman is effected differently." I'm really hoping the Provera works - any kind of relief is better than this! I'm still having 3-4 hotflashes every hour with extreme exhaustion/fatigue, night sweats, daily migraine headaches, nausea 24hrs. a day, life changing mood swings, and shaky hands. He kept reminding me that this only 6 months out of my life - it's not forever ... forever feels like an awful long time when you can barely get out of bed!

I have had the worst arm and shoulder pain after I took Zyrtec for only a few days to clear up some seasonal allergies. My upper arms hurt so bad, especially when I slept on them, which also led to some shoulder pain. My arms hurt for about 2 weeks after I stopped taking the Zyrtec. The pain started while I was taking Zyrtec. After not taking Zyrtec, the pain is finally subsiding. I will not be taking Zyrtec again; the arm pain was awful!

Just started Welchol after trying Lipitor & others. Have now developed severe vertigo & my right upper arm is killing me. I can't drink ANY alcohol because it makes me violently ill, almost to the point of throwing up, My doc says this drug is non-systemic & says I should have a brain scan...I stopped taking it 3 days ago-arm pain is gone but not the vertigo yet...I'll have to weigh my options of going back on it again.
Has anyone else had dizziness & lightheadedness from this?

I suffered a Pulmonary Embolism December of 2005. Following, I found out that I have Factor 5 (later we found out that all my siblings have it as well as my father). I have been on Warfarin since. I have been told by a few doctors that I will be on it for life. I have also been told by other doctors that I should have had filters put in my lungs so that I don't need the Warfarin anymore. Prolonged use of Warfarin is terrible for you, they say. At the time I started taking Warfarin, I was 39 years old. After 6 months of use I began to loose my hair as well as the curls diminished. I also developed discoloration on my upper lip, face and forehead. 8 months later I was told that I was pre-menopausal...my hormones were changing....night sweats, dizziness, nausea, severe abdominal pain, digestive problems, bowel problems, severe weight gain. They then told me that I had Vertigo and that they were not sure why it began. I am now suffering severe memory problems. When watching a movie, if a commercial comes on I forget what I am watching. I can't read without nausea and dizziness. I get headaches, terrible leg and arm pain. My concentration is very poor. I can't remember what happened the previous day or who my customers are. I don't know what to do. If I stop taking it I will run the risk of another horrible embolism (20% survival rate). My children, 12 and 15, have already lost their father to cancer. They are very concerned of loosing their mother.

I work in a health care system and we have used levaquin for this last cough, cold and flu season. It has worked wonders for the various upper respiratory infections.
No one has developed rashes, boils, or bone/muscle pain. After reading the first response, her abnormal reaction sounds more like a bad case of shingles.
Then, I read the last post where the person drank two glasses of whine to help with the blah blah blah. Mixing alcohol with any type of medication will not help with Your sypmtoms were a "full fledged panic attack" as you stated from the beginning.
Nothing but idiots posting here!

Started Levaquin 500 mg for 14 day treatment 4 days ago for chronic ethmoid sinusitis (15 months of battles!). Within 1 day, my symptoms were significantly better - and now 3 days later are about 95% gone. Only strange side effect happened on day three (3rd pill), got severely nauseated and dizzy and felt disoriented within 20 mins of taking the pill, but all subsided within 3 hours. Might have happened because I had taken a Zyrtec the night before - I believe that the 2 don't really mix well. Have been fine since (not taking Zyrtec with it again!).
Do also feel a little tendon pressure in my knees and elbows, but is very little and doesn't bother me at all.

Have been on Aciphex for about 8 months and have had many side effects. I thought it was the acid reflux causing the side effects but maybe its the Aciphex. I get light headed every once in a while, i get blurry vision, bad gas, tingly cold hands and feet, back pain and chest pain, arm pain, neck pain, irregular heartbeat, and go to the bathroom constantly. also feel very nervous at times. Its very scary because i thought maybe i had a heart problem but got an EKG and everything was normal. There is a book that i found that is guaranteed to naturally get rid of acid reflux or your money back. I am definitely going to purchase this book. You can find it on ***

Been taking Lipitor for several years. I am 51
Tired all the time. Don't feel like exercising at all. since I got a flu shot have been experiencing sharp pain in upper arm near and including shoulder.
Taking Lipitor, 40 mg qd.
The arm pain feels like it's near the bone.
The only other explanation for the pain I can think of was the nurse hit a nerve when giving me the flu vaccine.
Otherwise I fear it may be from the Lipitor. I told my doctor about it. He made no response whatsoever. not even to suggest any further tests, x-rays etc. to see what might be causing the pain. Gave me free samples of...you guessed it...more Lipitor.
At next appointment I will tell him the pain is still there (3 months).
If he does nothing then I will stop taking the Lipitor and take my chances.
