I'm 52 and I've been on Warfarin for a year and a half after having a mechanical aortic valve replacement performed in China, with an American titanium valve. I went through some serious episodes of blood thinness, then moved from northern China to SE Asia. 10 months after being here, I continue to work long days, but my energy is all over the place. When thunderstorms come in (daily) I have migraines, but this may be due to head injuries years ago. The main problems for me are up and down episodes of energy, and when the energy is low, I go pale. Pain in my knees and feet when I don't walk enough (maybe an hour sitting), or walk too much (maybe an hour walking) and very rarely what I think is something like aphasia -- the right words don't seem to come out on rare occasions -- maybe too many languages crawing in my head :). I used to walk an hour and a half per day -- not any more. Blood is on the thick side -- surprising because the diet her is very low fat. I want to get back into walking, get my strength back. I also have heard of socks that help in blood circulation. If I had a name or a brand, I could probably find the product in Thailand. Any idea, thoughts? I'm very frustrated.

II'm a 54 year old male and I've been taking Lisinopril for about 24 months for moderately high BP (135/85). Initially, I was fatigued late morning, but that seemed to go away in a month or two. Having a previous back condition, I didn't blame the tightness in my glutes and legs on the pill or the extreme morning soreness, but now I wonder. Also, in six months I gained about 50 pounds with no change in lifestyle (205 to 255). I read in a few of the Drug Co. sites that this is a rare effect, but not in any postings here. Anyone else have this problem?
I also seem to have developed an explosive type of temper that I don't recall before, blowing up at minor things, then it quickly passes. Anybody?
Where the drug initially lowered my BP to 120/75, with the weight gain I need the drug to keep it in the neighborhood of the original problem (140/85). If I miss a dose it spikes to 170/115 or higher, so I'm basically forced to take it or another BPM where originally I had a very minor problem. I thought this was a common pill that was described as relatively benign, but I' starting to realize that's not the case at all.

I'm not someone affected by Levaquin, but my boyfriend took Levaquin and now he has blurriness, visual snow, static, and halos. He's having really bad vision, yet his doctor says he has 20/20 vision. He is becoming suicidal and doesn't want to live anymore. He's been to over 30 doctors alone in a few months to find a cure and none of the doctors want to put a blame on Levaquin. He is losing hope and I'm losing hope. He seriously contemplates suicide everyday. Please someone help or e-mail me with anything you did to help your vision if you took Levaquin. If you saw any retina specialist or special doctors that cured the problems that Levaquin damaged. He's willing to fly anywhere in the world to get this fixed. He's going to try acupuncture for the eyes. What other remedies or things should he be trying? My e-mail is ******

I took Doxycycline in 98 for 3 months when traveling in SE Asia, I became extremely paranoid and my hair started falling out (I've never had this prior or since) so I stopped taking Doxycycline and within a few day's I was back to normal. Last year I went on another trip to SE Asia and was advised to have Doxycycline again with lots of assurances that it would be fine despite my previous reaction. After 1 week of having Doxycycline I awoke in the middle of the night with extreme pain running up and down one side of my body. Since then I have never been the same, constant reoccurring problems of the Central Nervous System including nausea, twitching, numbness, tingling, blurred vision. Also initially I had hair falling out. I've been tested for MS, fibromyalgia, lupus, lymes, etc. with negative results so far. The doctors dismiss the possibilities of a adverse reaction to Doxycycline but I'm not so sure. My reaction in 98 was very obvious to me if no doctors seem to think so. I had also had a vaccination for Japanese Encephalitis.
