So, I had my Mirena removed almost 2 weeks ago now and immediately started taking Yaz. I will miss the fact that I haven't had a period in about a year and the ease of not having to remember to take anything but the acne got too much to bear. My reflection caused me to cry and I couldn't seem to shake 8lbs, and I workout all the time, we're talking 3 times a day, 3-4 days a week, so it wasn't due to my lack of effort. And my diet is phenomenal, it was all very disheartening. I even made peace, finally, with my larger self but my acne was just unreal! After reading the other experiences on here I was simply reaffirmed about my personal suspicions and had a scheduled pap so I told my gyno to remove it. She completely agreed with me, saying that she's seen an increase in these types of cases over the last year, (one resulted in a 40lb weight gain and after removal 20 lbs dropped over several weeks!). She is a wonderful doctor. She said that IUDs have been relatively unused in the states until recently so we simply lack the data for longer termed effects and that since she's come across so many of them lately that she makes sure to inform all of her potentials of them. Mirena works for a lot of women, I have friends on it that swear by it, beautifully clear skin, but they have also seemed to gain that 5-8lbs that's unshakable, but I'm sure they don't associate it with the IUD, like I didn't at first either, but it was irremovable! Anyways, my doctor said it best, Mirena works for a lot of women, but not one thing will work the same on everyone, just as my side effects were pretty common but some of the effects on here were WAY different than my own experiences. All I can say is that I'm glad I didn't have a nightmare of a doctor like some of the other ladies here. If you are referencing this site and are wondering if your effects will go away, I had my Mirena in from Oct.07 to Feb.09. About Jan.08 I started breaking out, not that I ever had phenomenal skin, but these were cystic almost, different than normal acne, but my weight was unchanged. About July08 I noticed a little weight gain but had been on a couple vacations and was about to take a sabbatical, all likely reasons, but I can drop any holiday 5-10lb weight gain within 2 weeks due to effort, but not the 8lbs I gained then, as of Feb09 the acne had persisted and increased, new ones popping up everyday around my chin area and jawline ( not ever before), some on my back (also not ever before) which, after further research, found that those areas around the chin break out usually due to hormonal effects, and then I just finally couldn't take it. I looked in the mirror one day after work and just started crying. My reflection was horrible, my self esteem was diminishing and no amount of my wonderful boyfriend's admiration could make me look any better :( I can say I'm seeing a difference in my skin now on Yaz and am simply hoping there are no nasty side effects waiting in the works for me there! I hope this helps someone out there like so many other testimonies helped me!

Well actually I did not know what was wrong with me until I googled(injection causing indentation and bruising 2 months later) that is where I came upon this web site!!! IN November I had a injection at my md office for back pain, it was really swollen and bruised. Also during this time all the sudden I did not have a period fro a month and a half!! I was freaked out, going to the emergency room having pregnancy tests blood work and ultrasounds, all coming up nothing....then all the sudden I'm having this non stop period for 22 days straight!! I made a obgyn apt and they could not figure anything out!!! Now I know what happened to me. I am a victim of this horrendous experience. If anyone has had answers from legal people please let me know!!

I was prescribed to take 30mg/day (Prednisone) to try to reduce the inflammation brought upon by Ulcerative Colitis. I have taken Prednisone before....up to 60mg/day, when I was first diagnosed with UC. I don't really remember all of the side effects I experienced, but I do remember my calves and feet swelling, a bit a of moon face and very little weight gain due to the UC. Does anyone have any suggestions to how/and when I should take the daily dose of Prednisone (early morning, with food...what kind of food)? Also, I would love to hear from anyone with Ulcerative Colitis and how they are coping with the disease. From their diet when in remission to during a flare-up! Thanks...

Just got back from the Doctors today. She thinks the dry tickle cough that I've had for a year now may be from the lisinopril. After reading this, I think so too. I'll fill the rescription for verapamil tomorrow, but aslo see if there is a board like this for that drug.

I have a problem, that I've not seen any other posts about. I have been taking Yasmin for about 3-4 years. I have stopped taking it because my fiance and I are planning to have a baby. I have cramping low-- in my whole lower stomach. It isn't terrible but it hurts when I push on my stomach, sit down, during sex, and I am having a little lower back ache. It aslo feels like I have a balloon in my stomach. I also feel terribly bloated. The pain isn't bad and comes and goes. It is more annoying that hurtful, like slight cramping before a period. I stopped taking the pill after my last period, when I was due to start a new pack. It has been about a week and a half since my last period and I finished the last pack. I wondered if I was starting to ovulate but don't think it should last this long. The pain and bloating started last Saturday and it is now Wednesday. I am beginning to wonder if my body is going into some sort of shock or withdrawal from Yasmin???? Anyone had similar problems? I havn't had any other side effects from Yasmin....while on it anyway.

I am taking Cephalexin monohydrate 500 mg 4x a day for the treatment of recurring boils in different areas of the same part. Since taking it, I have experienced, contrary to others on this site, serious constipation, in addition, dry mouth and slightly sluggish. I aslo experience some stomach upsetness almost like nausea. But the most uncomfortable feeling is the constipation.

Well I have MPGN Type 1(type of nephrotic (kidney) syndrome) and I've been on 60mg of Prednisone since October 21st. I really hate this drug, but it seems to be working. I have all the side affects minus the eye problems (thank God) My hands cramp up, they are always shaking, and I can barely write properly. I have the moon face, I aslo have the weight gain, I get sad a lot, just because I have this rare disease, I have the acne, I have the knee pains, it hurts so bad I can't walk properly, I can't even sleep because of it. I've never been to the hospital in my life, but now I find myself in there atleast twice a week. Predisone is an amazing drug. To me I think it is a bad drug, But who knows, it might save my life. I have had the increase in appetite, but I'm trying to minimize how much I eat. It really sucks for me. I'm only 15, it's hard to go to school...I just want to stay home because I feel everyone notices how much I have changed! But I have a good support system, My family, always saying things will be alright. My doctors just decided to slowly wean me off the predisone, hopefully it doesn't affect how it is helping my kidneys. I wish you all get better, it is hard, but if I had to chose with the side affects and living my life and getting my health back, and between my kidneys failing and possilbly death. I think I would go with the side affects.

If anyone wants to talk I'm up for it, I could always use a friend, not everyone understands when you tell them your on steriods and thats why you look and act this certain way!

Best wishes to you all, Have a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Years, and always stay positive and keep your head up, yeah its hard, but you know try atleast ;)

Thank God I found this site also! I thought maybe I was crazy! I have been taking Levaquin only a few days. I take it with dinner thinking it would help ward off side effects-yeah right. I feel very "drugged" about an hour after I take it, like I can't wake up for anything, but then I wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep! I aslo have been very achy in the legs and back and thought something was really wrong. Thanks to all who posted their expeiences, at least I know I am not crazy and I will not be taking the last 2 doses! Oh, I also have that metal taste-yuck! Good Luck and Health to everyone!
