I had taken reclipsen for 6 months, and whenever it was time for me to stop taking them so my period would come on...I would bleed forever. Thus far, I have bled for 4 weeks straight. That is not normal at all

I have been taking Lisinopril for at least three years, since my pharmacy substituted it for Fosinopril. It never occurred to me that a particularly nasty side effect was coming from that medication until I ran out and didn't take it for a few days.

My lower legs had been swelling very badly for a few years, but I didn't associate the swelling with the drug, and I had been fighting it with compression hose and diuretics. Once I stopped the Lisinopril, 90% of the edema vanished.

I would like to stop taking paxil, I have been on it for 3 yrs. When I skip my medicine I get what feels like electrical shocks in my neck & head. I wasnt sure if I had a pinched nerve at 1st but began to associate this with the event that I had not taken my meds. I also have onset of panic attacks & rapid heart, & terrible terrible forgetfulness, as to even what cabinet I would like to open, I open the wrong one, go into the wrong doorway, wrong driveway. I am very concerned. I have told my Dr. that I would like to get off this Paxil but Ive been told that it would be best since I was suffering from anxiety attacks in past. I would like to be committed to be able to handle the withdrawls. If anyone has been successful in stopping Paxil and now feels pretty back to normal, please let me know. Thanks

I began taking Zyrtec for seasonal allergies. I had taken OTC benadryl but it makes me very drowsy so dr. recommended Zyrtec. Took it every day for a week and noticed shortly (within an hour) after taking, I developed a pronounced rash on my hands and feet. Red circular bumps that itched. I did not immediately associate the rash with taking Zyrtec. I had recently purchased new hand soap so I attributed this change to the rash. I stopped taking the Zyrtec and eliminated using the soap at the same. 3 days of no bumpy rash. This morning, took a Zyrtec after a particular rough sneezy morning. Within an hour, the rash is back! The Zyrtec is the ONLY THING that can be causing this reaction as it is the only variable present at the same time the rash is!

I started doing research online and am shocked at the reactions people have to Zyrtec. I have never been one to take medicines as I don't trust the pharmaceutical companies and this justifies my position!

I am a 44 year old widow with 2 children. I had used bc pills throughout my adult life with no problems. I never had a regular cycle, so being on the pill always solved my biggest problems. After starting a new relationship I decided that nuvaring sounded like an ideal birth control to use--worry about it once a month, very low dosage-lower than any pill I ever took. I was told that it doesn't cause weight gain or moodiness. Since I recently lost 24 lbs. I was glad to hear that. I started using it on Saturday. The next day I woke up with a rash on my chest and neck. I didn't associate it with the ring until I found this forum and started reading. I was using calamine lotion on the rash, but it wasn't going away. I took the ring out last night, and this morning it was almost gone and it stopped itching all together. I can't prove that there's a direct correlation, but I'm not taking any chances.
For those of you who are young and haven't started a family yet, I say stick to condoms and spermicide. Not as romantic, but it probably won't kill ya either!

I was on this for a year and then the price went up since my insurance stopped covering it. So I switched to generic (Microgestin Fe 1/20) which has 7 brown pills. And I get cramps again with my period which I haven't gotten in a year, so I'm thinking paying the extra $ for Loestrin 24 Fe is worth it and I might switch back. I also expect my period is going to go back to being heavier and longer, but I have yet to see, it's just day 1 now. The side effects I did experience were lower sex drive and less vaginal lubrication. I also experienced constant breast soreness, and weight gain, but I didn't associate them with the pill until now from reading these comments.

I HAVE BEEN USING NR FOR ABOUT 9 MONTHS. I THOGHT EVERYTHING WAS SWEET. I HAD HEADACHES, BUT I DIDNT ASSOCIATE THEM WITH THE RING. JUST IN THE PAST WEEK I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS. I KEEP HAVING A BROWN VAGINAL DISCHARGE. IT DOESNT SMELL FOUL. DISCHARGE SHOULDNT CARRY A SCENT AT ALL, BUT IT DOES. ALONG WITH THIS IS VAGINAL IRRITATION. SOMETIMES SEX DOES NOT INTEREST ME AND THERE IS A DECREASE IN LUBRICATION.

When I piked up my latest wellbutrin prescription I was surprised that I was given the generic subsititute, budeprion. 3 weeks later I was having symptoms of depression. I didn't associate the symptoms with the medication since I was told that the generic is the same medicine. When I called my dr. the first thing he asked was if I was given the generic. He said the generic is chemically different than the brand name wellbutrin--that's why the name budeprion is different from bupropion (Wellbutrin). It IS NOT the same. He gave me samples of Wellbutrin and after a few days I was back to normal. Now I guess I'm going to have to fight my insurance co. to get the Wellbutrin.

I am on 150 mg of Toprol XL daily for about 2 years. AFter I started on the Toprol within 3 months I noticed my hair was much thinner. I did not associate the two until the next time I saw my beautician, and the first thing she asked me about was if I was taking blood pressure meds. Her experience with many heads of hair had given her this knowledge. I have found others who say the same. My doctors say they have never seen hair thinning as a side effect. Does everyone have to go bald before this is acknowledged?

I've been on NuvaRing for the past year. I didn't associate all what I was going through with my birth control. To start off, I fell into a terrible depression almost immediatly. Barely getting out of bed, tired all the time. Next, the mood swings came. I turned into a different person. My boyfriend said I've changed over the past year into someone he doesn't even recognize. Constant crying, anxiety attacks and constantly sick. I mean I've had a cold since I've had this freaking thing in my vagina. I thought I had a food allergy or developed some sort of allergy. Just yesterday, I started doing research and EVERYTHING people have been saying about the negative side effects fits me. I also have gained 40 lbs since last April when I started it. I have felt like I have been living in another person's body for a year. SO, good luck to all of you who are sticking with it....

I took just two doses of Levaquin for a sinus infection. The first was before bed. I lied awake all night, with brief periods of dosing off, but would rapidily have distrurbing, odd images. In the middle of the night, I got up to discover that my calves and ankles hurt really bad. I didn't associate any of this to the Levaquin. The next morning I took dose 2. I am a school teacher. At work that morning, I couldn't function. I kept becoming confused, disorientated and paranoid. My Principal, concerned, sent me to the ER. That night, I still had disturbing images and felt horribly "drugged" all day. Luckily, I found out what was causing my symptoms, but for a while I was scared. I thought I was losing my mind!!! Really!!! I will never take this drug again.

I had some dizziness and a pressure like feeling in my chest. I sometimes felt like I had to catch my breath. Those are the only things that I had that I can associate with the magnesium deficiency.

Hi my name is Julie,
I started taking Levaquin for a bacterial infection on Monday Jan 1st. Within 48 hours I felt better. The third day Wednesday the 3rd on Levaquin, I noticed my neck was strained. I thought I slept wrong. The 4th day I had shoulder pain on the same side of the neck pain. The fifth day my arms were aching terribly. I was still taking the levaquin, it was my last day of levaquin 750 mg. I did not associate the pains I was having until it was too late. The last day of Levaquin in the evening, my arms and shoulders were in severe pain. Then my arms went numb, burning and tingling and severe pain. I could not move from the elbow to the shoulder. It lasted for 5 hours. Today is Jan, Saturday the 13th and my arms are moving slightly, however their is great pains in them. Especially in the shoulder. How long will this last? I seriously can't take much more of this. This 750mg of Leviquin for 5 days may of cured my bacterial infection, however it has caused other severe muscularskeletal problems.

yasmin has completely ruined my life. I was on yasmin originally for 2 years and it worked wonderfully- no weight gain and face cleared up completely. I decided to take a break from it when i traveled for work for 2 months.. i started getting severe panic attacks- didn't associate it with the yasmin though, so i went back on it when i returned and my face brokeout severely- i gave it 5 months to work- but it didn't and after stopping a week ago the anxiety has returned- and im not an anxious person.. and severe anxiety- feel like i cant breath.. dizzy.. constantly tired and scared.. so while this medicine could be beneficial to some people.. i really wouldn't reccomend it- not worth the bad side effects that last for a long time after taking the medicine...

I just took 750 mg of Levaquin for 5 days. About a day or two after taking it, i noticed my calves and legs were aching and pretty stiff. I didn't associate it with the medicine until i started reading on this site. In the mornings especially they are so tight and sore that it takes a little time to get moving. I am also noticing that my fingers are getting stiff and sore. I just thought it was from going up and down the stairs all day, but it must be a side effect from this drug. Hopefully it goes away soon.

I have been on Tp xl 50 mg for 6 years. I have had several issues through the years that I never thought the Tp was affecting. My throat has been sore for a year, I am tired alllll the time, moody and even worse at that time of the month, my left shouder has hurt for years and I never associated it with my meds, until now. I have NO SEX drive at all, poor hubby. My BP is good however when working out, Cardio my heart rate stays at 95. I have gained a 100 lbs in the 6 years I have been on TP and I am very moody. I never can finish sentence because I am always trying to come up with words to fill my sentences. Still I never thought this was cause of Tp. The only thing I blamed my TP on was weight gain, mood swings. Know I can associate alot more with my meds. Thanks for the reading material.

I've taken it several times and have had severe joint pain each time starting after about 3 days. The pain gradually goes away, but it takes close to 6 weeks. It took awhile to associate the joint pain with the Levaquin, but after figuring it out, I started putting on my medical charts that I'm allergic to it. While taking it, though, the joint pain was so bad that I could barely get up and walk and had to hold on to something to get from place to place. Driving was out of the question.

I received Kenalog injections for alopecia. An associate in my dermatologist office thought it would be a good idea to increase the dosage so that i would get better results. Oh I forgot to mention the fact that I had hair all over my scalp. I just had some areas where the hair was thinner than other. However, I had no bald areas. Well that is until I was injected with a larger dose of Kenalog. I now have a dime size bald area in my scalp. The area is also hypopigmented as well. I mean white in color. Oh did I mention the fact that I am african american. So you can imagenine what it looks like. It has been 3 months. I still don't have hair the area and the area continues to be depigmented. I have consulted an attorney.

I started taking sulfameth for a unknown spider bite first couple of days were fine, so I thought. I was very itchy (whole body) bad dreams mainly about giant spiders. Not hungry at all, and very tired my legs were in so much pain I basicly laid in bed for the whole five days I was prescribed the med I didn't associate any of these symtoms with the sulfameth until I researched it on the internet. I finished the med yesterday, but my hands and feet still itch like hell follow up appointment is tuesday hopefully doctor give me something for the itching.

Hi, this is guest 21606 reporting back about a month after finishing 6 weeks of levaquin. The good news is the prostatitus is cured.

For the most part the muscle pain has dissipated although I still have an occasional twinge. It is sometimes hard to sort out what is a drug interaction and what is normal muscle pain, when I am sick everything hurts. None the less, the peculiar pain I associate with use of levaquin did not happen until after about 10 days of taking the drug, steadily increased for a few days, remained steadily painful until a few days after I stopped taking it, then gradually diminished. Although it is possible the muscle pain was coincidental, I doubt it.

When I told my Urologist about the muscle pain he looked at me like I was from some other planet, like how could I possibly be so dumb, my family doctor also gave me a look, copped an attitude, and suggested I have sciatica. I don't quite understand this attitude, although the official side effects do not include muscle pain there are sure a lot of anectodal reports including my mom who credits levaquin with saving her life but had muscle pain for more than a month after completing her treatment.

Meanwhile keep in mind this is a very mysterious and powerful drug whose actions and interactions are not completely understood. If you are considering taking levaquin for anything less than a life threatening infection I suggest you think twice and try something else instead.

Good night all

Peter

Denise,
Thank you for your update after the RE. I find it amazing that no doctor will correlate Yasmin and the side effects that we are experiencing. I too was exactly like you before Yasmin, happy & energetic.
I am having such dizzy spells and anxiety attacks that I too am on Xanax and now Paxil. Never in a million years would I believe that this is happening to me. I am actually seeing a therapist! SCARY for me considering I cannot associate anything else but the BCP with feeling the way I am. I never felt stressed with the kids prior to the last few months of Yasmin.
The yoga (M/B/S) class is an excellent first step. The stress of the kids is alot for me right now so a yoga class might be what I need. I am about 12 days post-yasmin and on my 6th day of Paxil. I look forward to being rid of all of the prescriptions soon.
Take care of yourself!

If anyone ever hears of a class action lawsuit or some movement to get it off of the market in the USA against Berlex by the former users of YASMIN, please post here. I would be glad to share my story.

I was never like this.... REALLY. I am now on medications for my anxiety and receiving outpatient therapy.... If anyone ever told me that I would end up like this, I would not have believed it. The more I read, the more I realize and associate the symptoms with the time that I was on Yasmin.

I also took myself off of caffiene. I figure that it can't hurt. I have two little kids to take care of.

Thank God my family and husband are being helpful and understanding. I referred them to this board and that is how they realized that I was not making this up!

Good luck to all of you. I will keep posting as the days go on.

Started Cipro 3 days ago and had severe abdominal cramps a couple hours after my morning dose yesterday. Didn't associate the two. After a couple of hours the pain subsided.

Later that night, I took my evening dose and within 2 hours the severe pain came back even worse than earlier . I almost went to the emergency room. It was as bad as labor contractions.

Pain lasted about 5 hours. Did not take my dose this morning and no pain (just tenderness from yesterday)
