Oh my gosh! I've been on this for almost a year and a half and after reading this it all makes sense! I recently started taking a medicine for mood swings but now I think it's the stupid desogen. I get it from planned parenthood at no cost and it's not worth it. I just went today to get more about a years worth and then i found this and i'm going to an actual doctor and get something that works. My periods have awful clotting and so heavy which they never used to be.I imagine my cramps to feel somewhat like contractions. I have to breathe heavily through them and midol doesn't do a damn thing to help. I'm bitchy and tired and I am so anxious i used to be a dare devil and now I won't even swim in a river. I will hear a song that nobody would think twice about and start bawling. I can't sleep and I'm gaining weight. I used to be an athlete and I should have a great body now i hate myself in a swim suit. My sex drive is nonexistent. I am too dry and when when I'm rarely able to lubricate it goes back to dry in a matter of minutes. I don't even want to have sex I feel bad for my boyfriend. Who has been with me for 2 years and said i'm a different person than when we started dating. Luckily he's stuck around long enough for me to realize the pill is screwing up my life and soon things will be back to normal. I'm not taking it another day. Ladies please get a prescription and don't think it's you if you've experienced anything that we're saying.

I was diagnosed with allergy induced asthma in my freshman year of high school. I was given Advair for a couple of weeks to help deal with a major attack I experienced. After seeing an allergy-asthma specialist I was told to continue with the Advair until I could get my AIA under control. I was also placed on Singulair, Flonase, MaxAir AutoHaler (for emergencies), Acuneb (also for emergencies) and I was already on Zyrtec and an eye drop Patanol. At the time my Zyrtec and the Astelin I was on were not enough to treat both the allergies and asthma. I also began taking allergy shots. I was an athlete playing fast pitch softball, conditioning P.E. including weight lifting and running, and I was also doing aerobics in my regular P.E. class. I swam often, was an active outdoors man, rode horses, and ate a fairly healthy diet. I could not figure out why I weighed 145 lbs at 5'2. My doctor said I was healthy and that I shouldn't worry about my weight but now that I am a 19 year old 5'3 weighing 130 lbs I realize that my weight gain was not normal. Although I do not play softball right now, I practice belly dancing and yoga. I often go hiking, running and swimming and I walk about 30 minutes a day to get to and from classes at LSU. I worked hard to keep a healthy diet, and exercise often so that I would not gain the dreaded freshman 15. It took me two years to get down to 130 lbs and I never attributed my weight gain and inability to lose weight to my Advair until I was off it for almost a year and then had to start taking it again to deal with a flare up. In less than two weeks I had gained almost 10 lbs and was feeling miserable. After I got to college, I would often go for runs to help keep myself in shape. I got to the point where I had to quit running because I was always short of breath and I would have severe asthma attacks. I was on all of the above mentioned medications and often on Prednisone for sinus infections. I also experienced the dry cough and the tightness of chest. I experienced almost daily headaches -some were attributed to stress but I am not sure if the Advair caused the others. I was also very groggy, dizzy, and EXTREMELY moody. I disliked the way I was feeling while I was on Advair and took myself off it earlier than I was recommended. Since then I have been feeling a lot better and I am able to control my occasional flare ups with zyrtec and flonase and occasionally singulair if I feel my asthma acting up. I got dizzy easily for a few weeks after I took myself I was not told by my doctor that I needed to rinse my mouth out to avoid thrush, nor was I told about the possible weight gain and some of the other side effects. I am going to stop taking Advair unless I absolutely need it and I am not going to stay on it for long, especially if I start feeling like I was before.

Have had insomnia for 3 days on this med, after specifically telling the MD (not my regular doctor) that I had trouble with pseudoephedrine. My heart rate was very rapid and irregular. I am also an athelete, and drink tons of water. This medication wasn't in my PDR, so thanks to this web site I have found what the culpret is, and it isn't menapause!!!!

I am so glad to have found this site...I started Yasmin almost 18 months ago, and really I didn't think I could tell a difference in my mood/emotions or energy level, etc. (However, a month later I got engaged and started a new job in the same week, which brought on enough stress as it was!) Everyone else in my life, though noticed I was acting differently - depressed, bouts with anxiety, mood swings, NO LIBIDO, couldn't wear my contacts any longer, headache after headache, emotionless....finally, I realized (18 months later) what the "x-factor" was in all of this, and it seems to have been the Yasmin. Over the last several months, my breasts have gotten extremely swollen and overly tender. I haven't had much weight gain, except for I feel bloated all the time, which makes me feel like I am a walking water balloon. Being an athelete, I am very active and stick to a farily-strict diet, but I can barely move with my boobs going from a B-cup to spilling out of a C-cup!
I just stopped the pill last Thursday and have started my period as expected...has anyone had the swollen breasts/bloated side-effect? How long does it generally take for one's body to get back to normal?

I have been on Zocor for one year. I am a former athlete used to dealing with pain associated with playing and training at a high level. Since using Zocor, my energy level has decreased significantly, very tired, before, during and after workouts. Muscle pain specifically in my neck, back and legs has significantly increased without cause. I have a constant feeling of a stabbing pain in my abdomen, accompanied with nausea, bloating and abdominal gas. After seeing some of the posts on this site, has there been a lot of reporting of abdominal pain? Bloating? Gas?
-- By c144pd | Reply | (1) replies | Private Message meI too, have had trouble sleeping, accompanied by unexplained itching, and now after seeing these posts probably some mild depression. I believe I've had some short term memory loss - but then I can't really remember - LOL. Is the drug worth it? Physicians all seem to downplay the side effects, justifying the desired lower cholesterol, as more important than the side effects.........is it?
At 46 years old and formerly a competitive athlete at an elite level, I'm wondering if feeling better by NOT taking the drug is better than feeling worse and taking it. My training regimen was very intense prior to starting Zocor - NOW - it seems as if I can't keep up any longer. Any response to these problems would be greatly appreciated.
