I have had my Mirena out for almost three months now and couldn't be happier with the results that I have had. I do not get the horrible daily headaches anymore and my skin has cleared up. I was having gallbladder attacks due to the rapid weight gain that I had with stained. Now that I have started to lose the weight, I no longer have issues with my gallbladder. The weight is coming off really fast, I have lost 20 pounds in two months. Finally, I feel that I am returning to my old self. I am much happier and know for a fact that it has to do with having the Mirena taken out. I think that if anyone is suffering with any side effects from the Mirena, they should have it removed.

I've taken it 2xs now & have sharp/severe pain in my stomach & also my bck???? I've had tussionex (sp?) b4 with bronchitis & that didn't do this crap! Even the grapey tasting syrup doesn't do it either. While I've found grape syrup not as great on cough but the thick fruity tasting tussionex is good (just a bit stronger when I took 1st time I was cocky about it thought it couldn't be that strong..umm wrong!! Kicked my butt! It did work though!
Has any1 else had such a pain stomach or back when u took this Cheratussin AC?? If so please post...thanks.

I had the mirena placed in in May of 2008 due to losing to much blood during my period. I had become anemic. my Dr. gave me two options...Mirena or hysterectomy. i had gone through iron treatments that didn't work and i was miserable. Of course, with three kids, i chose the mirena. my doc didn't give me any schpill on the effects of mirena and also said that it would be a little prick at the time of insertion...WRONG! I screamed when she inserted into my uterus and since then i have suffered these side effects:
1. 20 pound plus weight gain (on a 1500 caloried Weight Watchers diet for 8 months and steady exercise program). Have taken two rounds of prescribed appetite supressent - gained weight!

2. gone up a full cup size in bra

3. ache all over in my bones and joints.

4. sharp pain in back that will NOT cease or go away. It is like a pulled muscle. I have had this pain for close to a year.

5 headaches

6. breast tenderness

7. nausea all of the time

8. cramps out of the blue that make my knees buckle

9. and very strong desire to eat sweets...which i can't because of my type 2 diabetes!

I am having the devise removed on Tuesday and I absolutely can not wait! I have discussed all of this with my husband and he is just stunned at the effects that i have had. I think that i would rather be anemic that to feel this bad! I sympathize with all of you! This is ridiculous and should be forwarned by your Doctor prior to insertion! Any doctor who says that you should watch what you eat after gaining all of this weight due to the mirena needs to have their head checked! i should be a size 0 right now with as little as i have eaten in the past year. I am as heavy as i was when i was pregnant and my boobs bigger than they have ever been!

i am 26 and had my Mirena IUD inserted in Jan 09 and i actually removed it myself. (probably not the best) however i didn't like it and i could feel the string so i just pulled it out. i have been getting lots of headaches, loss of interest in sex, mood swings like crazy, backaches, weight gain, and i have also been super tired!! i have 2 kids so i have felt bad cause i am so tired that i don't even want to do anything but sleep. i didn't put things together until reading all the other posts. i knew that the cramps and stomach soreness was due to it but didn't really think that all the other symptoms were. it's funny cause i asked my dr about the side effects and she told me them but none of them included any of the ones that i have had and the reason i switched from the pill to this was because of loss of interest in sex which definitely didn't get any better with the mirena in fact i think that it got worse cause i also was very dry all the time which i never had a problem with before. i was also very bloated in my waist all the time which i where i gain my weight which was 5 pounds and it says that you shouldn't gain weight. i'm sure mirena is great for some women but it surely wasn't for me. thanks for all of you other women who posted your symptoms!! i wish i would have found this b4 having it put in.

Well....i haven't had the Mirena for 6 months yet, but...i know something isnt right with my body. Nausea all the time....im not on my period..or am I?? I mean..i had my cycle but now i just spot really light pink...and i cramp throughout the day. I HATE it! I know its from the Mirena...I too have experienced discharge with an "odor"...i was like oh, uh uh! I really thought something was wrong with me. I feel this horrible sharp pain shooting down my leg...im just really uncomfortable. Headaches..Sometimes the pain is bad enough for me to think that the Mirena is out of place..but later on, i'll feel fine. Im sick and tired of the up and down. Im with you ladies...i want my life and my body back!

I have been on Simvastatin for several months. I am now experiencing low back pain, stiff neck on the right-hand side, fatigue feelings in back when standing, fatigue, dizziness and generally feeling "awful." My MD cut me back from 40mg daily to 40mg every other day, but I still continue to feel sick.
I read complaints from others on this site and want to share my symptoms. I have a 78% blockage in my right carotid artery and a 58% blockage in my left carotid artery. I am 72 years old but what else can I do to prevent a possible stroke should these blockages increase without the use of a statin drug????

I have been on Lisinopril for 3 days now, for slightly elevated BP. Doctor told me to take 20mgs, I split it in fourths, and have been only taking a fourth, and have had tingling in my hands and feet, chest pain, tiredness, severe anger and depression, I had the same reaction when I took Atenolol, (beta blocker), 12.5 mg a day for three months, Also I am going completely bald!! I know that was from the Atenolol, so this med, is just as bad, I'm not taking it anymore, I like my hair, health, happiness and sanity to much to compromise it another second, I also have suffered from depression for many years and have asthma, so I should have never been giving either one of these drugs! I will take Garlic, Omega supplements and see where it takes me, God Bless and lets try nature instead! P.S. I am a 41 yr old female. hope this helps.

Wow, i am so intrigued that i found this website. I just started taking femcon FE. I just started my brown pills yesterday. I just had a baby girl in May. The past few weeks have been horrible for me and now im wondering if it has to do with this pill. I had what i thought was food poisoning about 2 weeks ago. Horrible throwing up and diarrhea which i still have up to this very day. Then last Sunday I began to start feeling very itchy in the vaginal area, which i still have. i bought an otc treatment for yeast infections but i have never had one b4 so it said not to use it. Now im gonna have to go back to the doctor to get checked out.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!! I am sooo glad that I read all your posts, because I was so confused about taking this pill. I have been diagnosed with PCOS, and I have been told to take Provera, but then told that my acne and hair growth won't be under control by Provera, so I went to another gynecologist, and she prescribed Femcon FE, but I have been told that BC makes you fat, and makes you breasts bigger. I have already gained like 20 pounds since I started having irregular periods, my breasts have increased from a 32A to a 34D..its good, but it sucks at the same time! I hate being fat. I am only 18!! I don't wanna get anymore fatter! I am def. not taking this..Thanks again!!

I have been reading about the side effects of lipitor for several days now and am scared silly! I have been taking it for nearly 5 years now. My doc warned me about the muscle weakness/pain when I began taking it, but I didn't have any problems and it definitely provided good results for my cholesterol level. During the past several months though, I've begun to have severe symptoms. Actually, looking back, I realize I've had some of these symptoms for awhile but they were so easily attributable to other causes that I didn't pay close enough attention. I am weak to the point of not being able to walk a city block without being tired; my breathing is so labored sometimes just moving around my apartment is a problem. My knees and lower legs are painful, especially after walking. I get frequent, painful spasms in my lower arms and wrists. My speech has become slurred (I sound drunk) and my voice very hoarse - both so much so that people have trouble understanding me. I have trouble concentrating, am forgetful and am often dizzy and light-headed. I take medication for GERD, hypothyroidism, depression and asthma. But in case you think these symptoms could be from one of those (as I did!), I can assure you that I have had multiple tests which determined my thyroid levels are good, my BP is excellent, I have no signs of cardiac disease or diabetes, no sign of any type of stroke, no signs of any type of cancer or blood disease, no sign of pulmonary problems (other than asthma). I stopped taking Lipitor four days ago after consulting my doc. But I got to tell you, I am scared to death that I've been on this drug so long these symptoms won't go away. Any advice or suggestions would be most welcome.

SO HAPPY to have found this forum. I had been having ALL of the symptoms already mentioned here, except that I actually lost weight(maybe from the stress the damned little demon was putting me through). Anyway I had been searching various health sites about all this stuff, and just on a whim decided to google mirena side effects because I did not remember there being very much listed in the brochure or much mentioned by my obgyn, but because I was so foggy headed all the time, thought I may have forgotten something....well as you all know, none of this was brought to our attention prior to insertion and I actually googled Mirena b4 having it put in, and never found any info like this. That was in May 07...so I got mine out April 9th, 08 started my period 4 days later, and still fluctuating between heavy down pours and spotting after 6 days. ?'s for anyone who had theres out....how long b4 you saw improvements on problems....especially acne, moodiness and my worst thing has been excruciating joint and back pain every day....but I want to know about any of the symptoms and how long b4 they got better. Hang in there girls and give yourselves a big pat on the back for dealing with this mess and having the courage to make your voices heard. Thank-you for listening.

Previously posted 8 year old son w/ suicidal ideation and depression...I'm seeing comments about "inattentive." I've been saying my son is ADD for years....How many of you saw this possible side effect? Off of Singulair for 14 days now....behavior unbelievably improved.

I started taking Loestrin this past October. Tomorrow i will be through with my third pack of pills and I haven't had any problems. I haven't missed any pills but I have taken them late a few times. Throughout these past 3 months the only side effects I've had are tender breasts and nausea during the first month. I haven't gained ANY weight... But I am a dancer, and I dance 5 days a week. I haven't had any breakthrough bleeding and I haven't missed any periods. I haven't had an increase in appetite except when I'm bout to start my period...then I start snacking a lot...especially late at night. I haven't had any problems with mood swings except when I'm on my period (which is normal for me). My periods only last 3 days now that I've been on the pill. I thought my periods were long b4 but after reading some of ya'lls posts, my five day periods weren't THAT bad...but i still like the 3 days better.
My last posting i said that i hadn't had an increase in my breast size, but my little sister (she's like 17) and one of my guy friends have informed me that my breast are bigger. And they don't know that I'm on birth control.
So far Loestrin has been working out great for me....I have no complaints!

Anyone else have side effects that stayed with them several months after they quit???

I was on Celexa..and immediately after I took the meds..my vision would go blurry for a while..then it would go away until I took the next dose. B4 I knew it...my vision became blurry all the time. My dose was upped a bit..and the blurry'ness got worse......and it stayed with me all the time. .I've been off of Celexa for about 4 months and my vision is still blurry..not as bad..but not back to what it was b4.

Anyone else have side effects that stayed with them several months after they quit???

i was diagnosed with what the Drs said as a sluggish thyroid---i have had panic attacks for over 20yrs and just thought I was pooped from them---Dr gave me 25 levothyroxine and told me to give it aprox 3months---i did and well I felt terrible nervous, depressed and more panicky---i believe the depression was from feeling more panicky and not being able to socialize---so, my Dr took me off the 25 T4 and put me on DHEA and progesterone, after doing the saliva test to check certain levels. Her hopes are that I will get energy levels back without nervousness since she has noticed my hormone levels are off and as she said I have adrenal exhaustion. So, Im only on the 3rd day off of the T4 and on the current regiment of 25mg DHEA/B supplements/
EFAs/and Lyrica(25mg)/ and I have no energy at all-----i just want to sleep but i push myself but cant wait to hit the bed almost always right now--I never had these symptoms b4 I went on the T4 aprox 3months ago but now that Im going off I feel terrible, I am definitely calmer and less anxious now that I am off them but I cant make a decision to save my life and Im pooped!!! Does anyone know if going off 25 T4 could have such a drastic affect----thx so much-----

So i have been on the NR for almost 3 months now and have had pain, stinging and swelling after sex, I have NEVER had that problem before (not to mention it has came out a couple times during sex).
Also i dont start my pierod till about 5 days AFTER i take out the ring..Is that normal?? Which means i am still bleeding when i have to put a new one in?>>> This month i have had very bad cramping, "cloting" and heavy bleeding during my pierod....I have NEVER had that problem B4 either. So im starting to wonder about this ring....and please if anyone has these problems also please let me know, maybe it is a side affect.

starting the ring was awful for me, more so the 2nd month then the first, very dissy, to the point of not walking, black outs while driving. I was put on it for the massive pms problems. It might be endo I dont know, i am stuck in the battle of the doctors atm, and most all women in my family have it. b4 i started the ring i would cramp up to one week b4 starting my period. Now I constantly cramp all month, and my chest pains which are associated with my panic disorder has increased and my doctor put me on zoloft and visitine. As far as my mood has been going my depression has come back along with lack of sleep and night terrors. I have actually lost weight on the ring and my acne has cleared up with the aid of some cleaners. I have had no trouble with it feeling or acting like its going to fall out at any times, and i dont feel its there. The only reason i know its there is because of the light constant cramping i have during most of the month. I was on the path a few years ago and prefer the ring to the patch over any day. The path had far worse effects on my mood changes, i was on that for a year and things kept getting worse and it did not help with my cramps or bleeding, infact when i came off it my cramps had doubled. There are time i want to take the ring out but I am going to stick with it and hope for the best. But the ring is great for those of us that have a bad memory and there is a computer program that can be downloaded onto your computer that will remind you when to change it out. That is a very helpful aid!

My boobs are hurting bad right now actually its 5 days b4 my peiord. Goog luck w/ your skin clearing up it never helped mine. Ive been on Yasmin for 3 years but then again my skin isn't to horrible luckly I can easily deal w/ it. I use Murad face wash with the pomagrant its a nice face wash and toner at a great price. I have headachs often, dizzy, and i'm a personal fitness trainer and alway have took excellent care of myself so if your not as healthy know thats not your reason. I dont drink much Caffinee and never any sugary drinks including juice. They tell you that will help but it sure hasn't I have bad bloating and i'm always fatigue i have to push myself. I was alright when I was on the Ortho Cyclens but then again I'm afraid i just forgot the side effects while on them.

CLARITYJANE--

Looks like we are almost on the same schedule. I'm in the second week of my first shot. Question for you, did you get a period in the first month after the shot? I'm feeling so bloated now and my breasts are tender like my period is coming (sorry if TMI, or if any men are reading). Just wondering. I have been getting some daily headaches, but no hot flashes yet. Are you taking add-back therapy with it? Dr gave me add-back, but I was waiting to see the side effects b4 I started yet another drug. I am taking calcium daily b/c of possible bone loss. Thanks for any comments.
