Babysitter symptoms and conditions

I was on yaz for close to 4-5 years. I started taking antibiotics and my husband and I became pregnant while on the pill. We were well aware of chances of becoming pregnant. From the day I found out i was pregnant I started throwing up. I LOST 15 pounds during my pregnancy due to being sick all of the time. I had constant heartburn and choked all of this up to being pregnant with a little girl with a head full of black hair! The day my husband was suppose to go back to work from his leave (exactly 2 weeks after having my baby) i started throwing up at about 3am due to intense stomach pain that radiated into my chest and back and couldn't stop. He stayed home. The next day it happened again, my husband assumed i had postpartum depression and told me i would be fine and left for work. I tried to go back to bed but couldn't stop throwing up long enough to go into the next room and check on my crying newborn. I had to beg him to come home from work, we got a babysitter, went to the hospital, they did an ultrasound and admitted me. 12 hrs later I was on the operating table having my gallbladder removed. I now suffer with DAILY diarrhea immediately after I eat ANYTHING and stomach pain. I try to stick to a low fat diet but it doesn't help!!!! i have constant stomach pain, headaches, nausea and heartburn. Not to mention the FOUR scars that i have from the surgery. When i started taking Yasmin and eventually yaz NOWHERE did it say that it could cause gallbladder disease!

I love prednisone, at least so far. I have a rash that occurs only on the back of my upper arms and shoulder blades in the deep of winter...then reoccurs EVERY SUMMER as soon as I get in the pool. In summer though, it's all over my arms, my hands, my thighs and my upper back, even my neck a bit. It starts out as a medium tingle (like pins on my skin), lots of itching..which scratching definitely makes things worse. I apply sunscreen 70 and no help. I use anti itch cream which helps to keep me from scratching...but I can't bathe in it! If I don't scratch, the little bumps are still there, but they of course get red when I scratch.

I tried meds for hot tub foliculitis...no help. I start the prednisone and VOILA! It's gone within a day or two..or quickly disappearing. Two days after the last pill, I get in the pool..and the itching starts.

I have never noticed trouble with breathing or any kind of anger / rage issues...I do wonder if those are other folks symptoms of something else. I would really look into that before blaming prednisone and not addressing the real issue.

I have been on prednisone (tapering from 5 tabs a day to one over time) and it's the ONLY thing that helps with this rash and it's cleared the rash one hundred percent of the time. LOVE prednisone, came here to see if I could be on it all summer. I have three kids, no babysitter and my pool is my only true pleasure....I live for it all year as I hate winter and fall...I'm a summer girl!

I am SO sick at my stomach right now after reading all of these posts. My son is 2yrs old and was put on Singulair right after the new year. We have noticed a horrible change in his behavior....but we attributed it to his age and the fact that he is VERY strong-willed. However, thinking back, he has had some hallucinations. We had a babysitter tell us that when she tried to put him to bed that he cried and told her that there were monsters in the closet. When she picked him up and took him in the kitchen for a drink he kept reaching at the ceiling trying to grab something. Just last night he told me that he saw his Grammy dancing in the living room....my Mom wasn't even there. He has been throwing horrible fits to the point of gagging himself, hitting himself, kicking, hitting, screaming....you name it. At the end of them, I am usually in tears and we are both exhausted. I am not the only one who has experienced this with him....my Mom has too. He is also on Veramyst nose spray....both meds are for allergies. We have taken him off of both and decided to go a more natural route. We have bought local honey, an immune booster from teh health food store, and have him on a really good brand of liquid vitamins. It is hard as a parent to make decisions about your child. It is even worse when you realize that the decision you made has affected your child in a horrible way. I plan on giving him A LOT of attention tonight and giving him a big hug! I just want my fun, playful son back! Good luck to all of you and God Bless!

My baby is 3. She had strep throat from Jan to April. I'm talking off the antibotic for max 4 days and the fever would return along with swollen glands, difficulty swallowing and just plain miserable. Took me 2 ENT referrals for someone to finally agree with me that this is not normal and something needs to be done. We scheduled a T & A for April 18th. The surgeon told me that she had a severe sinus infection as well (surgery day). He recommended that we start Singulair 4mg at night along with Nasonex to possibly help with her constant sinus congestion. I gave it to her and noticed nearly an immediate a change in her disposition.(looking back now) At the time I simply chalked it up to having her tonsils out. She was on the medication until Friday May 9th. Her babysitter said that she was seeing what I was at home...only I hadn't shared my dgtrs behavior at home with her...call it guilt for being a single mom who works...I just thought she was having trouble adjusting from a week at home with mom from the surgery recovery to getting back into the "norm" routine. At home she would cry at the drop of a hat. Not just wimper or whine....but tears and screams for nearly an hour. I would ask her why she was crying and she'd simply reply "I don't know Mommy." One minute we'd be playing and she's be laughing and the next she was angry and anxious. She would complain of "tingles in her feet"...I thought she had just been sitting on her legs and her foot had fallen asleep. She would deliberately instigate her older sister...totally not her. She became fearful of her room at nighttime...and took for ever to get to sleep. A co worker had mentioned that a little boy she worked with had his medicine changed b/c the dr said one of his meds may contribute to his behavior issues. Being a nurse I asked what med...SINGULAIR. I immediately went to the web and googled singulair. I found this site...and began to read parents horror stories of their experiences. She has not had another singulair nor will any of my children - EVER. I feel guilty that I didn't take the time to research it before I put her on it. I feel blessed that I was in the right place at the right time to find out about this site. I thought that my kind and sweet little girl had turned into. I know it's only 5 days off the med but she's back to her sweet self about 75%. I am blessed that my experience was not even a month long...but losing your child to a medication that no one warns you about even for a day is WRONG. I think I would be more "forgiving" if anyone along the line of me picking up the med had said ANYTHING...but no one said a thing. My prayers are with those who were not as lucky as I was to stop this med so quickly. I hope your children return to their pre singluair selfs quickly and permanently.
