I'm dropping femcon like a bad habit. i have been bleeding since the 4th day on the pill with no sign of stopping. i ALMOST broke up with my boyfriend because my emotions are so out of wack, i have absolutely no sex drive and im moody one day and lovely the next. Luckily, i stumbled upon this website praying that i was just nuts and its all the pill not my boyfriend!!! thankful that seems to be the case and embarrassing as it is i had to state my case and hes willing to ride it out for the next week until i can switch back to my loestrin 24 fe. good luck ladies hope this helped! xox

My son had a cough for most of the winter last year. This year we made enough fuss that they looked into it. They did chest x-rays and they were clear. They put him on antibiotics and robitussin w/codeine and singulair. He is 5. The cough went away I was so excited. Then like 3 weeks in he started this throat clearing grunt. I thought it was just a bad habit he picked up at school he also got nasty and emotional and couldn't concentrate and this is a very quit witted 5 year old who's pre-k teachers are always threatening to send to high school, anyway they had me set up an appointment with a ped. pulmonologist. His RX ran out before the visit so I just let it go thinking if he needed it they would tell us at the visit. The day before he started rolling his eyes up in his head then the day after the visit (sat.) I hadn't gotten the new rx's yet which were singulair & albuterol and flovent inhalers. Sat night the eye rolling was getting worse and he started jerking his head to one side and opening his mouth to the side and after he went to bed he had an asthma attack. Sunday the eyes and mouth and head jerking was worse and I was in tears scared to death. I gave him the singulair and the inhalers and made an appt with his ped. I gave him the singulair on monday too before I found this site. I was horrified but relieved to find people who had similar experiences with this med. Mon. was his last dose and it is now friday and the eye rolling, head jerking, grunting and the mouth thing are all gone he is doing a little eye twitch where he looks down and to the side but only a few times in an hour. Used to be almost constant. His ped didn't think it was the singulair neither did the pulmonologist. It's so scary that these doctors have no idea. I made an appt with our chiropractor who is also a great homeopathic dr. to find out what we can use instead of singulair.
If there are any lasting side effects from this med.....

My son is on concerta and has done much better ifocusing in school. I do see mood swings when the concerta wears off and he has been running his fingers through his hair and just told me he is pulling at the hair. Has anyone else experienced the hair issue with this?

Oh, my gosh. I wish I had been aware of this site 13 years ago. After reading all the postings, I know now that I'm not alone. Thank you to all for sharing your stories - they've really helped me. Please have patience with me as I am going to unload my lengthy story now. I am currently going through my third treatment of Lupron and am 40 years old. After my first treatment at age 27 for severe endo, I became terribly depressed and had severe panic attacks. This was very much unlike me - I had no history of depression and was an optimist. I also acquired all kinds of vaginal infections which my doctor had no answer for even though he tested me for everything and said it was not related to the drug. Oh, and let's not forget about that great insomnia which really, really helped my performance at work. As most doctors say, and worse yet, I believed them -- "it was all in my head" and had to get more prescriptions to sleep, etc. Like a dummy, after my second lap surgery in which they had to remove my appendix as well because of the endo, I went through another treatment of Lupron. Just lovely. Had serious problems concentrating, vision problems and yes, had my first and only migraine - I thought I was dying. I even went to the emergency room at my doctor's request. Dear God, they gave me a spinal tap because they thought I might have Spinal Meningitis. But, of course, I didn't have anything but a migraine. It was just that wonderful drug Lupron. I didn't make the connection until I came to this site. Finally, and even though I was an athlete for a long time (although I've picked up a very bad habit of smoking and occasional drinking now), I had spinal fusion surgery for my neck two years ago because my discs were deterioriating... any connection to Lupron? I think so. What a vicious cycle. If I had known then that I wouldn't have children so manyyears ago, I would have elected for a hysterectomy right then. I would have been much saner, much healthier and wouldn't be going through the treatment again for endo. Now, since reading everyone's postings, I don't know what to do. I just had my second monthly shot of Lupron and I'm still bleeding. Can't wait to see what the next round of side effects will be. Do I sound bitter? Shame on the medical community. All this time I thought there was something wrong with me and that I had caused all these physical problems - it was like my body betrayed me and I blamed myself which made everything even worse. It lowered my self esteem, shrunk my breasts (yikes!), and made me feel like crap. Thank you again, for listening. This has been a great help to get this off my chest. I welcome any comments.

Since I've taken my daughter off the singulair, she has almost stopped the bad habit of clearing her throat. I notice her getting better and better every day. She's been off them now for about a month. Sometimes she still says that if she dont clear her throat she will choke because she feels like theres a lump in her throat all the time. It is going to take a while. I guess its pretty scary what this drug seems to be doing to alot of people. Good luck to everyone.

i was on 225mg of effexor daily for 5 years. at first it really helped i didnt feel so down and i had more energy than i had in years. i thought it was the best thing that ever happened to me. i started out on just the effexor but after taking it only a couple weeks i started having sleeping problems. i went for a couple nights with a few hours sleep and then i couldnt sleep at all. i finally went to the doctor, and he gave me trazadone which is also an antidepressant, to help me sleep. i remember the few times i ran out of either of them i felt nausea moody, and just a lot of bad days. i was so addicted to them that when i first tried to get off them my self i was sick for days. and couldnt get out of bed. i finally just quit them like a bad habit. i have advice for the parents out there, THE WORST THING YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR CHILD IS PUT THEM ON ANTIDEPRESSANTS

Last Night was my 8th day on the Loestrin, and this morning I put 2 and 2 together. I am 21 years old, I don't drink or smoke and have been on BC for the past 3 or so years. My first BC was Ortho and never had any problems with it at all it actually helped with my periods. Since I lost my insurance coverage from my parents, I told my doctor that I would like to continue BC usage at my last annual 2 weeks ago since it was 3 months of no BC and there was no period until that week, which I must say I have had cysts in the past and this was the worst painful period so far. He told me to go on Loestrin since It's the cheapest effective BC so I decided that was fine as long as effective was above the price! which he assured me. Well since I have taken Loestrin I have not had a decent night sleep! I lay there for hours and it will be 3-5am and then I will fall asleep with waking up every so often after that constantly until the alarm goes off. The lack of sleep, fatigue from, and I have noticed some extreme dips into depression with mood swings. I am afraid to continue based on just the lack of sleep. I don't need any other negative symptoms and I cant handle this much more longer. after the second night I told myself to take some sleeping pills because I cannot get into a bad habit and they did nothing! I did always take Ortho at night (no problems) SO I will try a week of taking them of a morning to see if there are any differences before I call it quits on this one, but if I don't see better sleep/or see different symptoms I wont like then this one is just not for me.
